You might want to consider separating the shallow and deep sensors into two separate feeds. The way the system is set up, if either the shallow or deep sensor is dry, the whole bed gets watered. It stands to reason that the deep sensor will be dry when the shallow senor is wet and the whole bed will be watered until the deep sensor is wet. The deep sensor negates the shallow sensor. This is easily verified by measuring the soil moisture on both ends of the bed. They should be the same and equal to the deep sensor.

What a beautiful greenhouse in a beautiful setting. The raised beds and Blumat installation is the icing on the cake. I don't understand, though, how those soaker hose lines can fill up when that Blumat carrot is just dribbling water when the bed is dry. Seems like it would take hours to fill those soaker hose lines up with water before the hoses would start emitting water. Can you clarify? Thank you.

Hi Jim, thanks for you question! The Blusoak fills up faster than you would imagine. However, some people like to fill their Blusoak before dialing in their carrots (i.e. opening the valve all the way)...but be careful not to overfill the Blusoak if you are practicing this method.

What is better... this method or the circle run of soaker tape?

Was curious if theres a negative effect if I run my 8mm super flex tubing directly to my water supply (faucet) or if its essential to have PVC/thicker plastic tubing? Thanks!

Typical municipal water supply pressure is 45-80 PSI. This is too high for this system. You should use a pressure regulator to reduce the pressure to 15 PSI.

Could a similar bluesoak manifold arrangement work in a gravity fed system?

Yes, it can. for each foot of height above the bed that your water tank is situated, gravity will provide 2.3 PSI. Therefore, your tank needs to be 6.5 feet above the bed to provide 15 PSI when it is nearly empty. If your tank is a standard 55-gallon drum, which is roughly 3 feet tall, the full tank pressure will be roughly 22 PSI and the empty tank pressure will be 15 PSI.

Very cool setup. What is the purpose of these large white pipes at the center of the raised bed?

That is an overhead water supply system

how big is a bed and what cost would that be for that bed in blumat? Thank you!
