  • These gravity irrigation systems save time and money while producing more vigorous high yielding harvests. Great for grow rooms, small greenhouses, off-grid grows, and rainwater systems. This video shows the unboxing and complete set up for Bumat 12 Sensor Drip Irrigation Kit which can be found here:
    www.sustainabl...
The basic principles in this video can be used to set up any Blumat gravity kit.

This was a great tutorial and very helpful.
HOWEVER.... I purchased the "deluxe" 12 sensor gravity kit, and have to say im a little miffed that you didn't include the two 8mm shut off valves for the reservoir that you demonstrate using in this tutorial and your older one from a few years ago.
This is the first automated system I've ever used, so I didn't know any better to order those extra shut-off valves.
After setting the system up and going through the extra steps necessary to avoid a big flood WITHOUT said shut-off valves, it became evident those should be supplied with your kits; or at the very least you should mention that they're extremely important to have.
I only mention this so you can make this easier for your next ignorant customer that doesn't know any better!
    Otherwise I'm super happy 🙂

Dude, seriously they give you such a bare bones kit that I feel like I need consultation to set up a 6 plant system.
Which by the way the six larger plant kit is also short a few parts. They only include one bulk head, when you need two for the gravity fed system. They don't include any shut off valves by the looks of it you need three. Two for the reservoir shut off and one for a purge line.
Sadly I didn't' learn any of that until after I purchased the entire system assuming it was plug and play. Far from. Honestly I'm still so excited to receive the rest of the parts to make this all work. But the website left me feeling so ignorant like I knew nothing and felt like there's no way to get answers but by doing my own research. So while I imagine sustainable village is trying their best they really need to do better than to sell partial packages without mentioning "Oh yea you'll need to spend 150$ more dollars to complete the kit" ????? like why.
Maybe there's and IQ range they require to use this system that I guess I fall below because setting this up and figuring out what parts are missing in there "Complete kits" is a damn science that needs to be studied.
Please do better guys, its clear you guys are doing well and are seemingly a small company that I can't get on the phone either but will answer emails like most people text so that is nice.
But please guys at Blumat, make it more obvious the required parts needed for a full setup in all its intended variations. It seems the bundle I got is missing some key parts as mentioned above and there's no way of knowning without some digging.
Sorry for the rant but I was so happy to see this comment after I had to write down the entire parts list for my grow, draw up a diagram 🤣, and throw the kitchen sink, just to find out I was 3 shut off valves, and two bulkheads short for each of my 10 plants. Sad day, now I'm placing my third order in a week. Improve the website thank you!

I am super curious how we went from 1 shut off valve installed mid line to 3 shut offs, two of which are on the feed lines and never shown being installed

What is the purpose of the T connector just after the reservoir with the tube going up to the top of the reservoir?

What is the purpose of the tube that runs to the top of bucket and zip tied ?

Love the new way you have of setting them without carrots attached, much easier
How come two lines from bucket and not one continuous?

Helps equalize pressure on gravity fed systems. We don't need to do it on a pressure system.

@@michaelbox1863 is correct. Equalizes pressure. I do a split system like this on 4 or more pots. But when I run 2 or less pots I run them off one single line. It works fine.

i guess the elevated deposit gets too hot in real garden conditions in summer (we've heat waves of about 40ºc then); would have to get covered by ivy or reflecting foil w/ isolation layer below - if not, water looses too much oxygen causing a nilieu poor in oxygen in the soil for the roots ?

Ugh, maybe that's where I've been going wrong with my double manifold system. I didn't take a pipette to suck the air trapped in the caps.

  • @phiipichut247
    @phiipichut247 Рік тому

So what is the pressure difference per triangle on a gravity system? I know at mains pressure it's 50 mbar - hence when you calibrate the cap at zero pressure, you have to give it two triangles to keep the soil at 100 mbar - but what's the difference per triangle on a gravity system?
