What a sweet quick stroke he had. Anderson, Skiles, Scott, Grant, Penny, Shaq....those 90s Magic teams were some of the better teams whose success was lost in the Jordan era.
They had their shot when they won the 95 series and then hoisted up ‘safety goggles’ to celebrate mid court rubbing it in the faces of longtime fans and teammates.
But It all worked out at the end. ‘Safety gogs’ came back home where, in the recent past, one of his kids mightve made local (Schaumburg) town news for ‘alleged’ scuffles with towing companies for relocating his fancy cars, that might’ve been parked illegally (handicapped zones). And also his buddy Skiles was invited in Chi to coach, but did so badly that got his walking papers on a Christmas Eve. I’m so happy and not living in the past on UA-cam drunkenly and cokedly commenting on years old comments like it’s my personal dude diary.
Former NBA player and Perth Wildcat Todd Lichti said in an interview in Australia he was told by the Orlando Magic GM they would draft him with the 11th pick in the 1989 draft. The Magic then drafted Nick Anderson. Lichti said the Magic GM called him back which he thought was really classy and apologized. He said the Magic were stunned Anderson was still available at the 11th pick. It never entered in their heads he would still be there. Lichti would be drafted 15th by the Nuggets.
My favorite player in NBA JAM tournament edition....dude got the highest 3 pts and clutch ratings....thats why i chose him always along with switching penny and grant...
talented and very cerebral type who could guard a number of positions. Once saw him at CHICAGOSTATE SUMMERLEAGUES and he with KENNY BATTLE WAS outstanding. ONE OF my alltime favorites along with FRANK WILLIAMS. the other top game was when he hit a shot from center court at INDIANA....BEAT JAY EDWARDS.
another underrated star form 90's...this players was "unlucky" he had teamates like shaq,penny...he could avg 25,in his prime was 17-20p player and mostly was 2nd or even 3nd options in orlando's offense!..
so so GOOD AND STRONG ON the fighting illini block or circle...and i know im in the cash game about to MAKE MILLIONS OF MONEY AND FAME.....MAKE EM THEM HATERS AND OPPONENTS INTO LOOSE CHANGE....BIG TOO FAST AND SMOOOTH IN THIS ILLINICRUSH GROVE.
