As an Aussie I'm not upset with this result. The US bench would be the starting line-up for a lot of countries and this is one of the best teams the US has ever brought to the Olympics. We are a country with a 1/10th the population to the US and playing a hard fought game and not hanging our heads when they blew out to a big lead in the 2nd. It was played well with good sportsmanship but still hard defence from both sides, proud of our Aussie players and congrats to the US on the W

Just the sort of warm-up game you hope for, an opponent who's nearly your equal who fights hard and puts you through your paces throughout the game. A solid win but enough competition to keep Team USA awake and aware of their potential weaknesses on the international stage, especially in interior defense. Obviously, no one matches their depth, size, strength, speed, skill and athleticism but they can be beaten now if their focus isn't sharp.

1. Team Australia knows the 2-man Game
2. Team USA plays no D but knows where the 3-point line is
This is why I think the '92 USA team was better overall. Nevermind the MJ vs Lebron debate. It's too early to tell realistically, but '92 scored at will and played hard defense. This team can put up points, but they may get into a shootout due to.lack of defensive toughness.

For everyone that's knows the NBA is not a league of defense anymore because it's not moving more to a international league where there's not much defense playes ita all about shooting 3's and dribbling defense left the USA team after Kobe he was determined to make sure it was defense played, go back to the old school style of play let your big man destroy the paint and when double teamed dish it out then your guards and forwards could get not only open shots but a better percentage of shooting this is why so many bugs stay hurt because you 7 feet wanting to dribble the ball from the 3 point line into the paint like they are guards no coaching what so ever
