This was mind blowing! Thank you Rebekah! Such creative poses. I experienced sensations I had never had before. I have never experienced the energy channels you described until now and I am delighted! Feels like a whole new world is opening in my body. The weights really helped ground in and I love your statement "Sometimes we need to hold on to something to let go." One feedback I have is that I am much slower to come out of poses than you- for example, after the big back bend, I was so much slower to get to my back that I missed all the belly tapping. I did a lot of pausing and rewinding throughout because I didn't want to rush. ps: your cat is very cute!

I also have long COVID. I spent the first three years trying to "fix" my breathing. I tried several breathing techniques. Rebekah's yin yoga and myofascial release videos were the first big breakthrough for me. Loosening up the fascia and muscle tension does wonders for the lungs! (I wish I'd found her channel 3 years sooner!) The next was a book by James Nestor, "Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art." Bonus: It's a fascinating, very educational read. YES YES - In Yin Yoga, the long holds work deeply into our connective tissues, such as ligaments, fascia, and also our joints, which are often less targeted in more active forms of yoga. These tissues are denser and less elastic, so they require time under gentle, sustained pressure to stretch and release. The extended holds activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and helps regulate stress. This is where the connection to hormonal balance comes in. Stress is one of the key disruptors of hormonal health. When we stay in a Yin pose for several minutes, we give our bodies the space to down-regulate, reducing the levels of cortisol (the stress hormone). By lowering stress, we create a more harmonious environment for other hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and thyroid hormones to function optimally. I often feel less hungry too. Yin Yoga also enhances circulation, particularly in areas where energy might be stagnant. This increased blood flow nourishes our glands, like the adrenals and thyroid, which play essential roles in regulating hormones. Additionally, Yin's calming effects help activate the vagus nerve, which has a direct influence on hormone production and the body's ability to self-regulate. This combination of stress relief, increased circulation, and nervous system regulation makes Yin Yoga a powerful practice for supporting hormonal balance, promoting overall well-being from the inside out. This was mind blowing! Thank you Rebekah! Such creative poses. I experienced sensations I had never had before. I have never experienced the energy channels you described until now and I am delighted! Feels like a whole new world is opening in my body. The weights really helped ground in and I love your statement "Sometimes we need to hold on to something to let go." One feedback I have is that I am much slower to come out of poses than you- for example, after the big back bend, I was so much slower to get to my back that I missed all the belly tapping. I did a lot of pausing and rewinding throughout because I didn't want to rush. ps: your cat is very cute!

I also have long COVID. I spent the first three years trying to "fix" my breathing. I tried several breathing techniques. Rebekah's yin yoga and myofascial release videos were the first big breakthrough for me. Loosening up the fascia and muscle tension does wonders for the lungs! (I wish I'd found her channel 3 years sooner!) The next was a book by James Nestor, "Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art." Bonus: It's a fascinating, very educational read. All the best to you in your recovery!

YES YES - In Yin Yoga, the long holds work deeply into our connective tissues, such as ligaments, fascia, and also our joints, which are often less targeted in more active forms of yoga. These tissues are denser and less elastic, so they require time under gentle, sustained pressure to stretch and release.
The extended holds activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and helps regulate stress. This is where the connection to hormonal balance comes in. Stress is one of the key disruptors of hormonal health. When we stay in a Yin pose for several minutes, we give our bodies the space to down-regulate, reducing the levels of cortisol (the stress hormone). By lowering stress, we create a more harmonious environment for other hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and thyroid hormones to function optimally. I often feel less hungry too.
Yin Yoga also enhances circulation, particularly in areas where energy might be stagnant. This increased blood flow nourishes our glands, like the adrenals and thyroid, which play essential roles in regulating hormones. Additionally, Yin's calming effects help activate the vagus nerve, which has a direct influence on hormone production and the body's ability to self-regulate. This combination of stress relief, increased circulation, and nervous system regulation makes Yin Yoga a powerful practice for supporting hormonal balance, promoting overall well-being from the inside out.

Hi Rebekah great class again. I liked using the dumbells. Im not nearly as flexible as you, so they helped hold me in place. In full saddle i have to use a bolster and blocks so i just brought my srms overhead

I had difficulty with some of the positions -folded legs lying on back was very difficult for me as I have very big thigh muscles -I need practice. First time doing this and I have persistent IBS so I’m looking forward to seeing results 😊
