  • Air filter change and clean, too easy on the KLR650! I am not a certified tech!
I live in the desert, I go through air filters pretty regularly. Short video as I change the air filter in my KLR650 and some of the checks I do before I go on a ride. Inspect your bikes before you ride, stay safe out there folks!!

Mine didn't fall off, but I did notice it was loose one day. Blue loctite made it right. Hasn't done it since. I carry a small vile in the tool pocket.

I have a good friend that has the gen2 klr 650. He bought it new and now has106 thousand miles on it. No doohiky, no thermobob, never been into thr motor and I swear that it still uses no oil. Treat your klr right and it will treat you right.

I HOPE I can get 100k miles on my 22 KLR...but I'm also faithful on the maintenence on all my bikes and wheelers. That's a lot of miles on a single cylinder thumper!

I'll be checking my chain adjuster nuts regularly now.

K&N air filter adds some ponies and blew the chain adjuster off. Going to order one for my 22 KLR. I've noticed the manual says 2.1 oil capacity but I tend to put more to get her near the top. If heard it somewhere, that you should put 2.5 but don't quote me on that. She destroys oil pretty quickly

Last month I picked up my 2023 Klr & have already sunk $2000 worth of upgrades, but totally spaced this 1. There’s always next month. Never a shortage of things to buy for them hu😅

I’ve got my trailer hitched up and I’m headed about two hours south on the Pacific coast highway to pick up a 1996 KLR650 in the morning. I have yet to own a KLR so I’m looking forward to it!

That's awesome! What condition is the 96 KLR in? I'd love to have a Gen 1! Enjoy your bike!

@@precipiceofgrind it appears to have been used predominantly on road. It’s going to need fork seals so while I’m in there I’ll install progressive springs. General attention to wearable parts and things. I also have a 2021 BMW G310GS that is completely outfitted. It’s important to have at LEAST two motos in the garage as you well know. 👍🏻😎

I have a 22 KLR adventure and one day after a ride I noticed I was missing the left and right side chain adjusting caps like you had and the left side bolt was slightly bent like your situation. the warranty didnt cover it so I had to buy a new cover and use a plier to bend the bolt back to shape. Bit frustrating but oh well

People use “grease” in several videos I watch. Is there a specific kind?
