Lacing Old Dirt Bike Wheels DT125 / DT175

A detailed step-by-step on how I lace the front and rear wheels of the Yamaha DT 175 motorcycle that I am restoring. I just finished powder coating the wheel hubs, bought new spokes, and new rear wheel rim. Next video will be about truing these wheels.

What is the size of the front rim and rear rim sir?
And also what is the size of spokes that you use in the front rim and rear rim?

Hi. The rims are 1.6" x 21" Front and 1.85" x 18" Rear. I got the pack of spokes specific for the DT. Details of the spokes dimensions below:
for 18" Rear Wheel Rim
9 pcs - 3.2 x 168 mm - inner spokes, brake side
9 pcs - 3.2 x 169 mm - outer spokes, brake side
9 pcs - 3.2 x 179 mm - outer spokes, sprocket side
9 pcs - 3.2 x 180 mm - inner spokes, sprocket side
for 21" Front Wheel Rim
9 pcs - 3.2 x 227 mm - inner spokes, brake side
9 pcs - 3.2 x 229 mm - outer spokes, brake side
18 pcs - 3.2 x 141 mm - right side

Hi. 2A6-25104-01 Spoke Set for the front and 10V-25304-01 Spoke Set for the rear are the ones that I got and worked for me. Sizes below:

DIY Phil, Good evening, if you can help me with the radiating of the 21 front drum brake rim, if there is any difference in the spokes, since I assembled them but the rim is not centered on the telescopic ones (the bars) I appreciate your help and guidance Thank you very much and success.Greetings from Colombia.💪💪👍👍

Hi. What you need to do is to tighten the spokes at one side and loosen the spokes from the other side. For example, you need the rim to move to the left, then tighten all the spokes on the left side of the wheel hub while loosening the spokes at the right. Do it gradually like only a quarter turn each time. Hope you had success.

I have no way of finding spokes for these two wheels I am in Sri Lanka. Please help me if you can. I also have a dt 125

My suggestion is to consult a local motorcycle shop if they can somehow find a set of spokes even if it is from a different motorcycle model but with few modifications can be adapted for the DT. I have seen it done before with some shops having to hammer the spokes individually to modify the bend angles and fit a particular wheel.
