  • Forty years after capturing the iconic images of the Soviet invasion of Prague in 1968, legendary Czech photographer Josef Koudelka arrived in Israel and Palestine to embark on a photographic journey along the route of the wall built by Israel in the West Bank. Assigned as his assistant was Gilad Baram, a young Israeli photographer, who soon after picked up his own camera and began filming the master photographer as he was creating his austere images of a landscape carved up by concrete slabs and barbed wire. The dialogue between Baram's filming camera and Koudelka's still photography became the core of Baram's debut documentary film Koudelka Shooting Holy Land (2015). In his TEDx talk Baram will share his experience of observing Koudelka, the ultimate observer and one of photography's greatest living masters.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Copies are floating online. It’s alright, but weirdly unpolitical bar a few remarks about Israel.
