The Ninja foodi grill cooks at very high heat. I recommend using medium settings, it's 450 degrees. The only food that cooks at 500 (high) is pizza. You'll burn things at 500 degrees. It's a non stick surface, you shouldn't need to add oil at all. Keep the grill and attachments clean, after you use it, keep the screen filter clean after every use as well. Don't use metal utensils or scrubbys on any of the ceramic attachments. If you have oven mitts, clean the grill and attachments while it is still warm, it is easier to clean, the colder it gets the harder it is to clean. Use the brush it came with to clean the surface first, order more cleaning brushes, made for the Ninja, this will keep the non-stick surface areas in good shape for a longer time. Order new attachments when you see the ceramic surface peel.
I was wondering about what you said, I have had a Cook Essentials air fryer for several years, first of I never have to preheat, the only things I add a tiny bit of oil is french fries or things like that, never to steak or chicken, my food comes out perfect, never smokes. I was thinking of upgrading but after seeing this and other videos I’m not sure I want to, and is much pricier.
You just saved my dinner. I purchased a foodie and the instructions were in a foreign language. I immediately looked for a video for beginners and you popped right up. Thank you so and I am now a subscriber to you
Thank you for these great 5 tips. I just ordered this Ninja Foodi grill . I have never seen this grill in use before. I rarely cook anything . I really found all these tips helpful. My grill is arriving in 2-3 days. I will be rewatching this video. I liked & Subscribed your Chanel!❤️👍🏼
thanks for all the tips. I've had my foodi for a week now and have used it every day. I'm still figuring it out. I need to learn more about the baking feature
I made a very good ribeye steak (an inch thick) using high for pre-heat (500 degrees until it beeped). Then I cooked each side for four minutes apiece, using the same high setting. That was it. Got a perfect pink medium that was very tasty and even had grill marks on each side. I did brush canola oil lightly on each side before cooking, but after I marinaded the steak. It all made a difference. You have to be sure to watch your time when you cook meats. Certainly had a better steak than I ever did with the George Foreman.
Please don't ever disrespect a steak ever again by putting canola oil on it. Also please don't disrespect your body by ingesting canola oil. Go with some good old-fashioned butter, ghee or even avocado oil.
@@cburton1227 understood, but for the sake of your house not filling up with smoke using THIS device, you need an oil with a higher smoke point. So no olive oil or butter. Yes, there are other oils, but this was for the sake of the cooking feature. 😊

I usually lift with my silicone finger gloves, the entire basket with whatever accessory is inside, and place it in the sink hot. I squirt some Dawn in it and fill it with hot water to the top of the grill, basket, grate, etc and let it soak till I get to it. If you are looking to olive oil for the flavoring, I would go with extra virgin olive oil as it has a higher smoking point of 405*. Grape seed oil is great too if you were just looking for a good cooking oil with a high smoke point as it doesn't add any flavor to the food :)

Hi, I’m wanting to do frozen hash browns, and wondering if there is supposed to be some kind of screen to cook them on inside of my Foodie? Also, Do I take the grill grate out, or can the grill grate be flipped over and cooked on the back surface?
DanniB Actually olive oil (right type) is great for frying and has a high smoke point. I use it for frying very frequently and never smokes. The one I use has a Smoke Point: 410° F.

While she is right that olive oil typically has a lower smoke point than some other oils, it's not anywhere near 250. Very good video, although olive oil will start to smoke at a lower temperature, it is never going to smoke at 210F ...more like 325F. So, just understand that EVO is not the best for high-temp stuff over 350F, it does still work just fine if you don't have to cook for more than 10 minutes or so. I'm a retired chef, my first experience with this indoor grill cooking 2 bone-in NY strips with EVO and Kosher salt and fresh-cracked pepper was excellent, VERY good. Hardly any smoke, medium rare (starting at room temperature), about 8 minutes on 500F. Some oil/fat that collected in the bottom pan was not hot enough to smoke. The extra flavor of the EVO gave the steaks exceptional flavor. After 20+ years, I would say this device can make a great steak. Don't shy away from using EVO if used properly.

Thank you for posting! Great tips 👍🏼👍🏼 How would you say the quality compares to actual grilling? We just bought one today, haven’t used it yet but am excited to experiment for the best results
Thank you :) I personally would say I haven't grilled outside in a little over a year now. It's so much easier to clean and maintain for our family. The food comes out great with the grill marks. Now the grill marks are different, but thats really the only difference between our propane grill and this indoor grill in my opinion.
I have found I need to pre heat each time I cook, Example cooking burgers 4 at a time, the first 4 have nice grill marks and look grilled if you don't preheat the grill again the next 4 come out grey with no grill marks. for one or two people its great but if you are cooking more than 4 a fire grill is quicker and better. I have used the grill in my hotel room several times and have never set off the fire alarm

Thank you for posting! Great tips 👍🏼👍🏼
How would you say the quality compares to actual grilling?
I’m getting one today
Yay! Happy Cooking :)
Good video
Thank you
