Despite having an HX grille the first station wagon is actually a HZ as denoted by the full-length body moulds, Kingswood SL badging and RTS badge on the rear tailgate.
Pretty sure he Hillman Hunters where made here in Adelaide, at the old Chrysler plant at Lonsdale, may have just been assembled here from imported parts, would have to research. I was born in '58, there where a lot of these around back when I was 16.
First wagon would most likely be 6 cyl 202. The other choices were the small V8 253 or the 308. That first ute looks a lot like my old 66 Toyota Stout. The 'eyebrows' look a little different though. That Toyota next to the Land rover is probably a 70's Corona. Little Hondas are probably1970 models. Blue car was Hillman Hunter. All the single moms drove them in the day. 😁😁
Been restoring a one tonner, i see thousands of dollars sitting there, the front of the one tonner is about 3k, each holden bumper bar is close to a thousand dollars and some look very good, chrome work around the kingswoods etc is very expensive regardless of condition and most of these look great, that V8 and box, more money wasting away. Trying to buy a one tonner v8 complete rear end, nothing under $800, bonnets, front guards same deal, body moulds on the HZ wagon over $200 each x 8.....
@@bennyjetski Yes but they had a single grill. In my personal opinion , the twin grill / headlight on the HQ Statesman is the best looking front on all the H models.
Those celica 5 speed steel boxes were strong, I knew one bloke who had the same combination as you, he said it wasn't fast but used very little fuel & hardly wore the engine at all. Another bloke hade one behind a 400 chev V8, he drove it like a four speed as 1st was too low
that pink ute appears to be an ol Humber love the old cars used to have a 69 toyota corona RT40 shovelnose had a guillotine bonnet that hurt when closed wrong lol
Another one that doesn't know Holden's 🤡🙄that sedan is from Kingswood models HQ - WB which have a half subframe/chasis 💢nothing like a Torana that is a Monocoque body shell only has the K - subframe ! 🤬

@@bennyjetski Always something to learn. Picked up a few tips from watching your vids mate. Not really a Ford man, actually I do own a Mk1 Escort coupe, that's waiting for a couple of bits, after the Tonner has been "finished".
@benjohnson7170 glad I've passed on some knowledge mate. That's what it's all about I reckon. Love an escort. But im keen to see this tonner as well. And I picked up on the " " for the finished, cos they are never finished 😂
The blue hunter is a hillman hunter made in england
Thanks guys

Thats the little details I love. On the falcons I can pick em but haven't had the time with the Holden's. Appreciate it mate
Actually my brother did the same with his old Kinga, he reckoned the HX grill looked better than the HZ.
Not the Kingswood 🥺
Yeah there's a few
What a ripper yard, gotta love walking around these yards, think that Mazada needs to put in Dave's showroom.
Dave would love some more projects 😂
Yeah is a good place. Lovely guy too
i'll take em all
The blue ones a Hillman hunter.. cheers
Cheers Frank

That is cool! Love that history of Adelaide. I'll have to sus it out
Yep my old lady had 1971 Hillman Hunter, it had Made in Australia stickers here & there on it.

Crying bloody shame that it's all sitting there just turning to shit!
Yep. The first one... the station wagon is a 202 6cylinder bro.
Cheers mate 🤙I suppose most were 202s?
The colume shift linkages to gear box are worth a lot of coin now adays on the Holden's
Love that old tractor!
You would have a blast at all the other ones
You get around Graham 👋
The front on the 1 toner is HQ Statesman, twin grill, worth more than the toner itself.
Did the prems run twin lights also?

@@bruceaskin9645 definitely a great front end
The little ute with the split rims is a Prince (pre nissan) super miler.
Thanks mate
Many would remember HQ holdens had a racing class because there were so many.
That's why now there's bugger all original doors and body panels left.
Pretty sure the old twin headlight trayback truck was a toyota?
Used to have a HX premier wagon in the day put back in the old 253 with a celica 5 spd box.
That would've been a fun bus.

The RT40 looks like it was a cool thing too
Nice little walk around. The red/orange sedan with no front is a LH/LX Torana. The Stato fronted tonner looks sweet as.
Also the tractors,nice.

The 3208 cat engine is from 1975.
Would make sense. Pretty sure it came out of an old S-liner. Thanks for that
