I’m glad you’re finally visiting Thailand Max! I’m heading there at the end of the year and thank god I can use this as a guide to eat probably one of the best asian cuisines.
yess, what cities? Enjoy, there is food everywhere so it's really easy to find good food!
Chilli oil in a Coca-Cola glass, for a moment there I thought you were going to take a swig. 😲 I declare, it scares me when you stick those brochettes way too far into your mouth. Those bamboo skewers are sharp, young man, you have to be careful, ok? I can totally relate how certain flavors and aromas can take us back to our old stomping grounds ... just like what the rice soup did for you. The sight of stir-fried morning glory with loads of garlic made me drool; then again, I drool even when I'm asleep but that's a different story. 😆 My favorite food from the whole lot? It's a toss up between the soy sauce ice cream and the Chinese donut dipped in sangkhaya. It looks like this was a good day for you, Max. You ate your way through the street with no signs of disappointment. 👍👍👍 Street food may not exactly be described as shining and shimmering but you certainly are taking us on a splendid journey to a whole new world of food.

Eating roadside stall mystery chilli sauces like nothing! I must say, you really have big cojones my man.. That said, the sauce at 16:08 looks dope! Gotta get me to Thailand soon

That green sauce for seafood is called Nam Jim and I could just drink it. It’s chilli, lime juice, garlic, fish sauce and coriander root(cilantro). Easy to make at home. I got 10 of those prawns but just a little smaller for 100 baht the other night. Chicken wings also 5 baht each. There’s a place 8 minutes walk from Hua lamphong mrt that does those satay but only pork. Best I’ve ever had. Love those lightly picked chilli and veg that goes with it. And the bread to mop up any extra sauce.

I much prefer Max. He breaks down what he is experiencing far better than Mark Weins. Max has a more adventurous and knowledgeable palate. Max never over reacts to the experience. He will tell you if he doesn't like something without being apologizing, but also without being disrespectful.

I think both mark and max are equally ferocious eaters with insatiable appetites.😅 they both have their own ways of describing food and their knowledge of other foreign cuisines aren't too far off one another. But, mark has been around and exposed to more foreign cuisines than max has been though.

Omg, Max, being a Teochew it is nice to see you enjoy the Teochew porridge and the chui kwai as well. I love the chui kwai which is really compressed rice top with shredded salted vegetables and fried shallots. I ate at one of the stalls once and ran off as quick as I could because I forgot my wallet and eversince then I am unable to go back to Yaowarat and I think the proprietor is still on the lookout for me. Please do not tell them I comment on you blog as I do not want them to come after me. Better get out of here too.
Ther's two Stalls selling Chui Kwai. I bought one, when I was at home i tried it and I couldn't eat it. It was not so good🙁.

You went the right place to eat those chife pancakes at Yaowarach. That chife pancake restaurant is the best of all times for me also. They cook with pork fat. Next time try Mexican yam stuffing pancake. It's more meaty and sovory. Aroi Mak Mak.

Not recommended for u to try blood soup..it is raw blood. Most this they don't try his dish..it is a local northeast dish
