It's hard to imagine the taste of "banh mi" a combination of bread containing Xiu mai and Ha Cao.. The Xiu mai and the Ha Cao itself looks delicious.. In Indonesia there is also a kind of food "Tau hu", we call it "Tahua/Tahwa". Soft tofu poured with ginger sauce and brown sugar. it's just that without the extra topping that was put last (I don't know what that is..hahaha). In Indonesia, sometimes people who eat "Tahua" with a sprinkling of roasted peanuts. Because this dish is hot and spicy, the taste of ginger is usually eaten in the evening or at night.. suitable in the rainy season, can make our bodies warm.. 49 snail combination looks amazing. Nice video Max 😊👍

Hey Max..I have been watching the most of the videos in your channel. Pretty amazing. I was born and lived in VIETNAM around 15 years before I moved to the US. Sadly that I don’t know anything about the foods there but just homemade foods from my mom while I was in Vietnam. From watching your videos, I feel like you are even more Vietnamese then I am. I wanna have a trip to visit my country one day in the future to try out all the amazing places and yummy foods.

Collab'ing with Phuc Map and now Chris...gingers be taking over Saigon! LOL! I was surprised Chris never had snails before. Come on, dude be missing out. Then again, up North, he probably doesn't get the crazy variety that is shown down South. I would kill for the snails, oysters, seafood, etc., in Saigon. And the fact you guys can get so many varieties in so many different flavors/combos kills me. Nowhere can you get that in the US or I'm sure most places in the world. But for someone who's never eaten snails before, he was a trooper! It's definitely something Americans aren't used to, but never know they are missing out. :)

If father Alexander de Rhodes were alive, I'd like to ask him why the heck he switched the t and th sounds are reversed? Why switch t to th and vice versa in Vietnamese? I think we need to go easy on always pointing out or overly crediting the French for so many things (I ridicule those whom say the French also introduced pho to the Vietnamese - where in a bowl of pho do you even see French influence? Aside from possibly clarity of broth to make it prettier - what in French cuisine is remotely close to pho? Do they even eat noodle bowls or are known for noodles?!?). That's like continually pointing out in Italian food-related channels that tomatoes came from the Americas so the Italian tomato based stuff didn't come to be until the 15th or 16th century. Also, their pasta was beget from the Chinese - but you don't see people continually point that out. regarding the snails, MAYBE the French said, "Look, it's a snail. Totally edible." But that's about it. What and how the Vietnamese flavor it is nowhere near the typical butter drenched style that the French like (which is good, too, but totally different than how the Vietnamese do it with all their herbs and whatnot).
