I believe I will get the London Labyrinth. However, I would like to compliment you on, hands down, the best demonstration of sashing with QAYG squares. Your explanation, accompanied by the video, finally brought all my months of studying QAYG into the proper alignment! I have deleted most all of the other tutorials because those do not come close to yours. YEAH!! Thank you and I look forward to future tutorials.
So few videos are as good as this one. The steps are clearly indicated and there is no doubt what to do next. I really appreciate this video. It is great!
I loved this video. But I'm curious about why the backing material suddenly turns from white to one of the green prints -- at about the 11:20 point in the video. Not a big deal. Just odd. Thanks again!
Hi Doug, The answer is that we just plain ran out of fabric prints. To simplify video taping we make all of the steps in advance. Sometimes we just don't have enough fabric to make all of the steps exactly the same. We hope that this does not truly affect the content. Thank you,
What if I got too excited and made my blocks (not sashed yet) but somehow skipped the beginning part of adhering the batting to the backing material? Would I be able to cut the backing material, adhere it now, and then quilt the top? Grrrr cant believe I missed that part.
Hi Kaylee, While not ideal as you miss some of the quilting that helps secure the layers, you can add your backing after your blocks are completed. We would recommend that you do some stitch-in-the-ditch quilting toward the center of the block as well as sewing the perimeter of the block before sewing on the sashing. This should secure the batting nicely. An unfortunate extra step, but it will work.
Hello Danyelle, The lines printed on the batting do not wash away as such. They do, however, wear away with laundering and usage. If you plan to make other light color quilts, you could also use a scissor and snip away the numbers as you work. Hope this helps.
Good day, Lori - The "Paris on Point" (green / gray) quilt uses 6 charm squares, 6 - 10" squares and 6 - 2-1/2" strips for the six block quilt contained in the package. The "London Labyrinth" (blue/purple) quilt that is shown, uses 21 - 2-1/2" strips. For both quilts, finished blocks are approximately 12" square for a finished 24" x 36" quilt per package. Additional fabric is needed for the sashing, backing and binding. Multiple packages can be used to make a larger quilt.
Hi Jennifer, The Quilt As You Go Pre-Printed Batting can be purchased on our website or you can ask your local independent quilt shop if they have it. These designs along with some new ones will be available at JoAnns in late spring.
Hi Sally, Sophisticated Strips is currently available on our website and at independent quilt shops. You can ask your local quilt shop to order it for you if they do not carry it. This product along with new Quilt As You Go designs will be available at JoAnn's stores in April or May.
Hi Janet, The cotton Quilt As You Go products do not have a fusible backing, however, the polyester ones do. The longevity of the fusible really depends on the number of washings. Frequent washings will breakdown the fusible. With this method of quilting, however, where all the backing and batting layers are stitched as the block is pieced, you don't need to worry about additional quilting to keep the layers in place.

Hi Melissa,
The green fabrics used were from the Moda Zen Chic collection.
where can I buy the batting
Do the lines wash away? I’ve done a few of these and one in light fabric and the lines show through 😕
Hello Danyelle,
The lines printed on the batting do not wash away as such. They do, however, wear away with laundering and usage. If you plan to make other light color quilts, you could also use a scissor and snip away the numbers as you work. Hope this helps.

Please canyou tell me if this product is available in Australia
Hi Alene, Punch with Judy, the on-line retailer in Australia carries the product. You may also want to ask at your local Spotlight retailer.
If I want to make a larger quilt I just buy more than one kit?
Yes, that is correct.
Where can the Sophisticated Strips be purchased?

is the fusible strong enough to hold for a life time?
