I did enjoy how easy she made it look. I have seen other quilters try to show this technique, but her way seems the most simple and effective and she didn't just prattle on, or have annoying music; she laid out her points, told us what to do, showed us, and it works. Thanks

I just want to thank you so very much for this excellent tutorial. I am a relatively new quilter and this was my first QAYG project. I finished it last night and am quite tickled with the results (boo-boos and all). I also referred to your machine binding tutorial and used that technique, which is different than how I'd been taught many moons ago. Also, cannot lie - this Canadian girl loves to listen to your amazing Aussie accent. Thanks again for a wonderful set of tutorials - I can't wait to start my next project!

Ever since I heard about QAYG, I have struggled with how the blocks get sewn together. There are a number of tutorials available on UA-cam, but none come close to this one on clarity and precision. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I now feel entirely comfortable in making a queen sized quilt using this method (before I was hesitating because I felt I was forced into finding a long armer to do the quilting for me!) Happy New Year from the Waikato.

This technique would work very nicely for a t-shirt quilt ! This method makes quilting so affordable for those spend thrifts out there ! That would be me ! I love to upcycle old clothes into quilts, sheets, and mostly a great way to quilt when you don't have a long arm or the purse that affords the expense !

Thank you so much for this video. It gives very clear instructions. I just finished my first ever quilted bed sized quilt that covers the surface of a queen size and quilting the center blocks was very difficult on a normal sewing machine. It is an attic window pattern and I love how easy the blocks went together but the quilting had made me decide against doing another quilt that large. Now I can't wait to get started on another using your QAYG method.

I’ve watching a lot of QAYG videos and your is by far the best one!! Most I’ve watched have a raw seam along the backside. Thank you very much for a great video!

wow ... I lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloved this ... I think I will start making a mini quilt like this for my newborn niece :)

    • @alandacraft

You can reduce the number of blocks for a mini quilt. I like my quilts to be rectangular rather than square but for a baby quilt a square works well. Making it with 3 x3 squares would be ideal and of course you could also make the square smaller if you wanted to.

Awww thank you Susan. This one can be a bit fiddly when doing the sashing but lots of pinning and just taking it slow and easy helps. And don't forget that the written instructions and measurements are on the website Reversible Quilt As You Go Quilt With Sashing

I love the quilt behind you & all your videos. I am doing a disappearing 4 patch right now. I wish I had known about the quilt as you go when I did the one that you have on your website. But maybe I will try this sashing type again soon. After I finish the one I am doing my daughter wants me to finish the round block jeans quilt for her.

Thank you. I had a bit of a brain fart last night and was thinking with a 1 inch sashing, with two half inch seam allowances, where did the other half an inch go!! I woke up this morning, having realised it goes back on itself...... Like I said, brain fart. I will have a look at the website now.
