I had no idea there was a quilt as you go way of doing these. I just bought these inspirational quotes and this will make things so much easier. The fabrics you chose look beautiful. Great video, very easy to follow. I’ve made 2 of these so far and I think the written directions are extremely clear. I haven’t had any issues with making these.
Wow, I'm glad this video popped up on the viewing list! Thank you for this instructional video! I didn't know there are quilt as you go kits for the mug rugs. I had purchased the patterns and statements only kit from a local store but with your directions, I'm confident that I will be able to get better results when making more of these mug rugs!
I would use the back as my binding. I think it would lay flatter. And be more smooth 💕

The kits I ordered from Createforless did not come with the preprinted batting...Where can I purchase these?

Nancy Holthus mine also did not come with preprinted batting fabric but I plan to draw it myself onto batting.
I just bought this set at Joann’s and it did not come with the pre printed batting :(

There are two different varieties of mug mats. The original Inspirational Mug Mats include the printed statements and patterns. The newer Quilt As You Go Mug Mats include the printed statements and the printed batting. The two sets do have different patterns for the mug mats.

@@JuneTailorInc Ugh! I hate that there are no videos for us newbies. Two mats so far and nothing has pieced wright. All short after cutting to the specs and laying on placement line for 1/4 inch sewing as per instructions. So guess I ma not doing something wright. Please do some videos for dummies. LOL
@@caroldunk.3481 Hi Carol, If you are having troubles with the fabric not meeting the blue line after you sew, use a small ruler and check the distance between the needle and presser foot to determine the true 1/4" for your machine. Even our most experienced quilters have found a variance from one machine to another regardless of the machine manufacturer. Also, the Quilt As You Go method is somewhat forgiving. If the piece you sew is a bit crooked or doesn't quite meet the blue line, place your next piece on the blue line. As long as your capture the fabric from the previous piece you should be fine. Always check to make sure. We have recently added some new videos that are aimed at individuals that are new to quilting that you may find helpful even though they are different projects.
