(Some of the content in this video may be inspired by other amazing quilters' work. And while I would love to be able to identify the author of the original pattern, sometimes that's impossible to do. I hope you understand.)
Fast and jaw-dropping, there's no other way to describe this... I love it!!! What's the fastest you've ever made a quilt top?
I never thought about making a table cloth before, but this is such a great idea. A good gift for someone who might not want a bed or lap quilt.
I agree! I've gifted a few over the years, I love them 🥰
Press open, lower stitch length and backstitch at beginning and end. Never had a problem with this pressing option. Love the quilt!
Thank you! I'll give it a try! I've been nesting the seams all this time, I'm ready for something different heheh.
You are correct! It is beautiful! Along with a table cloth, you can use it as a light weight quilt! I think some people call them summer quilts. This one would need to be a fall quilt because of the colors, I guess! A fun idea!
Yes! I have a couple summer quilts and I love them and use them all year round to cover my old but warm duvet 😁
Those strips are so fall-like and beautiful!! 😍 They just give me a warm, comforting feeling!
I know, right? And they're so soft! I loved working with these!
This looks great. At First I was not Sure about white as sashing. But it matches well. Great idea to use the stich and flip method.
Thank you 😊
I just love your voice and your excitement, I watch your videos with a great deal of enjoyment! 🎉keep up the good work 👏
Hi! Thank you for letting me know, it makes my day to know you enjoy them as much as we enjoy making them 😁
This is stunning and the colours are spot on. I love the way the white frames the beautiful pops of colour too. Gorgeous.
Love it! Got this and the Christmas rolls and cannot wait to do something with those. Tablecloths are a good idea. Thanks for sharing!
Uhhh, those sound promising! Happy quilting 😁
I usually press open. I have never had any issue by doing so!! I love your quilt!!
Thank you 😊
I absolutely love your table topper! The colors are magnificent. Such a simple but beautiful work of art! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you 😊
I love your tablecloth. It's beautiful. I have a horrible metal table out on my back veranda. I like to cover it when we are having a BBQ out there. I have lots of placemats but now I'm thinking this tablecloth in Christmas fabrics. I might put a very thin batting in mine as things go clink when plates, cups and glasses are put on the metal so batting will be good for me. Always enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work for us Sandy. See you next time.
Sounds wonderful! Happy sewing 😁
Beautiful fall colors! I love it. I never thought to make a table top quilt before, I will make one now! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you 🥰
Such rich and beautiful Autumnal color, and you really did make that fast.
Such great projects you come up with for us! Happy Quilting!
Thanks 😁
Wow !!! That is a KNOCKOUT piece ! Love, love, love it
Thank you 😊

Hi Sandy. I was looking at this or extremely similar on Amazon this morning. It's gorgeous, but I decided to go for a pastel instead, but I'm sure I'll be buying it another day 😊 🧡
I love pastels as well, happy sewing! 😁
I love your fabric!! Beautiful table topper!! ❤
stunnng colors, I love it. so easy, thank you
I press to the dark side. Rarely where press seams open. Love these colors!
I have to confess I sometimes forget to press to the dark side and it makes so much sense!!!
@@seweasybysandy It’s just a matter of preference. There’s no right or wrong. No “quilting police” here! 😁
Totally Awesome
Thank you 🥰
I bought this jelly roll. Lovely colors.
It's gorgeous 😍
You are a joy to watch.❤
Thank you 😊
Absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤
I love watching your videos! Now that my health is such that I can sew again, I'm going to try this quilt pattern. Thanks for sharing!
Hi! Thank you, I'm so happy to hear that! Happy sewing 😁
I've thought of doing a shoer curtain using same method. Just need loops at the top.
That would look so cool
Really gorgeous, I love it. Thank you 🎉

Since I discovered your channel, I’m curious about the next video…..!
Keep up the good work and “see” you next time.
Ka de slang, a huge fan….
Thank you so much 🥰
I press to the side. open exposes weekness....
I heard about that but wasn't sure.
Sew pretty (haha)!! I really want to try this!! I'm new to sewing/quilting, so I'm still learning all the phrases and stuff. What does pressing open mean?
Hehe I see what you did there 😁 pressing the seams open is when you put the seam from one side tonthe left and the seam from the otehr side to the right and press, that way the seams are open. What I usually do is press them all to one side.
@@seweasybysandy you responded so fast! Thank you! That clears things up 😄
@@GerbilGirl987 😁 talking to you after a video is published is one of my favourite things about having a UA-cam channel heheh
@@seweasybysandy I'm the same way!!
I'm not clear on how you sewed the strips to the backing fabric...is the backing fabric all one piece? And the strips are sewed on side by side??
Hi. Yes, the backing fabric is one piece. I'm doing quilt as you go but without the batting, so stitch and flip. I place one row of squares on top of the backing fabric, then I sew on the white separator on top of that strip. So when I sew that white strip it's already being sewn into the backing fabric. Then, I add a new row of squares, right sides together, to the white strip and sew the 3 layers together ( backing fabric, white strip and new row of squares), then I open that and I keep adding until I reach the top. Hope that helps, happy sewing
Intricate patterns I press open. For this type you are showing today I press to one side
Why do you docit differently depending on the type of project?
❤❤❤
Could someone please help me understand? Sandy sewed strips together, and then cut them. Why wouldn’t those seams start coming apart, since they’ve been cut through??? I can never comprehend this, but no one can so far, explain to me. Thank you so much!!
Anytime you end a seam, if it is going to be covered by another seam, it will not split open. That is why you do not need to backstitch your seams. The overlapping seam locks the cut seam in place.
Hi. Because I'm sewing over the ends, the seams don't open. 😊
Exactly, thank you 😊
Beautiful ❤
