- Star Trek: Legacy was the first Star Trek video game to feature a Daedalus-class starship. I've always been fascinated with the history behind the Daedalus class starship, and after reading about the Daedalus class in the early years of Star Trek and how it was used in the Romulan -Earth war and equipped with Nuclear Warheads,I couldn't resist making a Nuclear Weapon for the Game's Daedalus class starship. Read further down:
One of my team mates "MARKYNCC " from a former mod team created two missions "The Convoy" and " NXX Project' . I took the liberty of putting these two mods together for the purpose of setting the stage for an early Romulan-Earth era which gave it that historical war like feel.
The U.S.S. Enterprise NX-01 was upgraded ( modded by me ) considerably for this war...
(Nuclear Warhead weapons, Explosions, and other visual FX features where created by me.)

History of the Daedalus Class:
I discovered that the history and information about the Daedalus Class was very inconsistent .Since there is relatively little information and sources.I pieced together what I though was the most logical from all the sources I researched.

Daedalus Class Starship
Sometime just prior to November 2157 the Battle of Galorndon Core was fought between the two powers and won by United Earth, though it was a costly and bloody event, described by Captain Wilson as "a nightmare".
During November of that year the Pioneer (NX-10) was sent to the planet Vorkado to investigate a reported collaboration between the Romulans and the Tholians (indeed both sides would have benefitted from such an alliance); however this sparked the Battle of Vorkado. By this time the Andorians and Kzinti, whose territory was under threat, were also assisting Earth and the "Daedalus project" had been accelerated to assist in the war effort.
The starship Daedalus, registry NX-117, was the first Daedalus-class starship ever constructed, as well as the first official Federation starship. Secretly constructed at the Warp-7 Complex orbiting over Seattle, Daedalus was the most ambitious starship project of the 22nd Century. It featured the first ever Warp-7 capable engine, Multi-Phasic Lasers (more advanced than phase cannons, Lasers for short) and a primitive energy shield system in addition to the most advanced form of polarized hull plating.

The Daedalus class was one of Starfleet's earliest warp vessel designs. Commissioned shortly before the founding of the Federation, the Daedalus class ships soon became involved in the Romulan-Earth war and were fitted with "NUCLEAR WARHEADS". Though primitive the Daedalus class helped battle the Romulans back into their space and end the war in a stalemate. At wars end the Federation was founded and the Neutral Zone established. With new technology from Federation member worlds the Daedalus class was soon retired after less then 40 years of service.

Good for you. This video has been up almost a year and no has yet to notice. If you will notice @ 2:12 the Daedalus fires nukes on a Ent Battlehawk. This mod was put together for showing off the "Daedalus Nukes". I was so busy getting the Nuke graphics to look just right with an exhaust trail, (Which BTW was feat in itself for Legacy) That I never noticed to change out the TOS Bird of Prey scouts. We will assume that the Romulans developed these BOP for the war. In this time-line anyway..LOL
There was no season one or two.. These are weapons and special effects I created and a few other odds and ends,bits and pieces of mods I put together just for a fun video. The story came from one of my modding teammates...From the modding team-

This is the NX version. There are several Daedalus ship mods out there...... None of which I think look that canon. So I decided to use one that would look like an early version of the NX class starship..
My point was to show off the "Nuclear Warheads" I created for the Daedalus class ship in Star Trek Legacy... Not the correct/canon history... As I stated in the video description the histories of the Daedalus class vary in what the community believes is canon. Therefore I took the liberty of combining the histories- canon, and non-canon books ( there are many ) for the purpose of exploiting my nuclear warheads in a storyline. ;-)

I was always interested to learn about the Earth-Romulan War since ST. Enterprise tv series had a glimpse of what was to come but was canceled before more could be learn as to what happens. But I did hip to the ST. Enterprise novels by publisher Pocket. The books gave a pretty good telling of what happened during the war and aftermath. Now the have I think two or three books out the chronicles the first few years of the Federation
A great game (on the PC anyways). Pity my copy no longer seems to work...
its close enough, i thought that the daedalus was what they were talking about at the end of enterprise when they were talking about the warp 7 project or whatever

I honestly bought Legacy because I thought I'd be able to fly a Daedalus class.

Somebody on STO named a ship that looked like the Daedalus "U.S.S Ball On a Stick"
I am not sure how the rest feel about them but I honestly cannot ever captain such a vessel.

You're probably thinking of the Olympic-class line, Tier 3 science vessel. A friend of mine named one "U.S.S. Mr. Microphone"
I however like the design, provided you mix the Olympic hull and pylons with the Hope nacelles, and perhaps the Horizon "saucer"... and if you can put an Aegis set on it (provided you have the fleet version of the ship for tier V), you get an awesome TRON-ship
If you want more info on the Daedalus class there is a fair bit in Star Trek: Federation the first 150 years....as well as info on how they were used during and after the Romulan war.

Any chance to pilot a Starship from the Star Trek universe should not be over looked... It's not my favorite starship. But, it does remind me of the Discovery One from " 2001: A Space Odyssey."
Good video so far (Nice HD), what battle was this? Where did you learn that the Daedalus-class starship was used in the Earth-Romulan War? There are many sources on the Earth-Romulan Conflict.
It's a long story! I did a lot of research. I combined what I though made the most since of the facts. The facts that remained the same from all the conflicting facts I placed together. The video is a created by a team of modders I belonged to at one time. I combined a great deal of mods my team-mates created and combined those into this one video as a story. With a lot of creative Liberty! The one fact of the Daedalus research that carried from story to story that remained the same is the fact it had Nukes on board as well as the Romulan's ships. Since I created the nukes for this game I decided to create a story I could use them in. :-D The description has all the info...

We have access to the files on a PC. You can't mod the Xbox game.
Dang, I am not sure how well rounded you know about consoles, but when will they put mods onto consoles? I know that Fallout 4 has them...
Well, I know you can't mode this one for Xbox. This is a very old game... I'm sure with all the new games coming out with the new tech things will change. Star Trek Online lets you create your own missions...
Thanks for the correction I see that now.. Removed the comment.. I took one look at the ball on top and confused the two. I think it was only one EP that shipped appeared in TNG if im not mistaken.
I was under the idea that the Daedalus Class of ship was bigger than the first Enterprise NX , but ofcourse smaller than the Kirk Enterprise Class.
Why isn't the nx class not used instead ?
Actually, they didnt have ANY weapons other than nukes before the Romulan War.
A clearly stated fact in TOS that Enterprise ignored. Even the NX-01 goes against continuity since it was never shown in Picards ready room or the rec room in TMP.
Enterprise needs to be ignored as far as continuity goes since it violated it left and right.
The only way it should count is if it's the pre-history of the JJ Abrams movie.
Now I am not to sure, but in this war we have the first Kirk show version, and then the Game books of the time version. Plus I think now the Enterprise TV show version, each version seems to keep changing the level of technology that both sides had at the time of the war. Now with the new movie called AXANAR, they quickly mention in passing the Earth Romulan War. So I can only hope that they will in time get to also make this war too. So then we will get to see the maybe actual tech they both had.
***** Yes it's fan made, but from the little that I have seen, they are trying to keep close to the Kirk / Paramount tech levels version. So that's why when the AXANAR movie comes out and does good, they will also make the Earth Romulan War too.

Look on Amazon or another Place for "Star Trek Legacy" buy the Game (2005 game ) then you need to go to Legacy.filefront.com or Chris Jones Gaming and download a mod...

When I download the Daedalus Romulan War mod how will I see it in Legacy? Also will I be able to play the mission the convoy etc. like the stock game?
hotwheels f There is no Earth Romulan war mod.... Downloading the Daedalus should show up in your Enterprise Era... You can download the Daedalus and the Convoy Map mod.... This video was made with my Legacy game that was heavily modded with "Several" mods I put together.... Follow the readme instructions... Be sure and backup your game!!!! The best way is to make a complete copy of your game( copy the entire game folder) and place in your documents, or a safe folder. Arthur voyagerseven have you ever seen any mods that gave enterprise hull plating feature instead of shield. I have look and only saw shield. Since hull polarization was the "shields of the day", replace the shield column in the repair layout?
hotwheels f Well no... But the ships can be modded for hull plating instead of the use of shields... The Enterprise era ships in game have hull plating not shield's... I gave/ changed the hull plating of these ships and gave them shields in order to fight the Romulans in my video..
how to mod hull plating into the repair screen?
It can be done... But I haven't seen anyone attempt it... The hud would need to changed.... But it would become a blanket effect in legacy...
why would they put the star wars Death Star on the Enterprise????

Is there any chance you could do a short story in how and why the Romulans engage the Federation. I don't believe that all Romulans are untrustworthy sound a bit racist LOL :p . Why did the romulans needed control the situation on Vulcan and involvment of Section 31. I don't think the federation are good as well.
