Di Meola grew up in New Jersey & still lives there most of the time. Son of Italian immigrants. He’s my favorite musician of all time & a great songwriter. He’s a virtuoso on elec guitar too, very rare. I play guitar too. I’m 64 and have been listening to Al since around 1978. Your videos are great - thanks😀

I followed them in 1981 for 20 sessions, they were and are amazing musicians...the excitement being there in warm-up to live performance was simply a one in a live time experience.

The first time I heard this song was in 1983 when I was a teenager, my God, that was 40 years ago, time flies so fast!
John McLaughlin has been around since before the Beatles. Some of his other bands Shakti, works with Carlos Santana, and his high energy hair on fire band The Mahavishu Orchestra.

Saw their show in Austin in 1982 or 1983 (but no orchestra, just the maestros on guitar). Basically sat there in stunned silence like you did in this reaction, but for two hours.

One of the most famous Flamenco songs is Malauena. The version Roy Clark did on the Odd Couple TV show was done on an acoustic. Just put this in the YT search bar and take the first video - Roy Clark - Malaguena (The Odd Couple) - it is only 3 minutes. Then you could put this is a YT search: Roy Clark - Malaguena, and the first video is 4:23 in length I think, this one is live and he plays a different guitar. So because neither is too long maybe you could do both in one video ? He does do different versions in both and the sound is much different due to the different guitars.
Hey Travis you might want to check out Andreas Segovia. The man is a phenomenal classical guitarist ,definitely worth a listen to.
3 legends. Saw Al Di Meola twice, but not the other two. Acoustic guitar doesn't get better than this.

Tres grandes sin lugar a dudas,pero sus instrumentos tienen grandes variaciones, la guitarra de paco ni va conectada ni usa púa sin embargo tiene una velocidad una limpieza y una acústica como si fuese una orquesta,vuelvo a repetir para mi aún con esas diferecias tres grandes.

Django Reinhardt, Chet Atkins, Philip Catherine, Sylvain Luc, Raphael Rabello, Eric Clapton, Roland Dyens, Tommy Emmanuel, Mark Knopfler, Larry Coryell, Jorge Cardoso, Biréli Lagrène, Yamandu Costa, Ralph Towner, Juan Falú, Christian Escoudé… to name just a few.
one classic fingerstyle master, an alternate picking master, and John who is both and like.. also a piano...
With all due respect to John M, the best version of Mediterranean Sundance is on Al DiMeola's album Elegant Gypsy Suite. He is accompanied by Paco de Lucia on several tracks, including MS.😢

That was fantastic acoustics. Hey there is a bad ass band in Japan. BANDMAID They are a 5pc female hard rock band who can mix different genres into their music. Start with song onset (instrumental) then Domination live. The singer sings part Japanese and part English. They are addicting.

Paco de Lu-thee-or-s--ah. John Mclock-llin. Al Dee-me-OH-la.
That's not how you pronounce it. It's not CHEE it's a TH sound. If it were Lucia in Italian it would be CH but Paco was from Cadiz in Andalucía, Spain so it would be pronounced as an S or a TH depending on the part of Andalucía.
