I am SO glad I'm with a guy who knows all about periods. He said his mother drilled this stuff into his head so he would know what his girl friends, mom, aunts, cousins, and you know eventually actual girlfriends were going through. I freaking love him.

my best friend thought that a period lasted 1 day. it was interesting to explain to him that it lasts anywhere from 3-10 days depending.
mine lasts 14-16 💀
edit: my mum asked about it at my checkup and the doctor said it’s normal since I just began getting it at that time and when it lasted a while I wouldn’t get it for 2 months or more. But everything is better now my most recent one lasted 5 day!! Thanks everyone for caring, I’m fine :)

Ha, so I go to a pretty small school and all the girls like to freak the boys out with period stuff. (it's natural, idk why it freaks them out so much) So, us girls are pretty open about when it's that time of the month. In the 7/8th grade classes a total of about six girls including me were all on our periods at the same time, and we were talking about it while the boys got SO disgusted and were like "ITS CONTAGIOUS??" 12, 13 and 14 year old boys didn't know they can't get periods cause they weren't contagious. Funniest moment of my middle school years right there.

In 5th grade we got the talk about periods we weren't allowed to tell any of the guys cause we would get in trouble.
some of these were just so hilarious, but they also show how important period education is
In 7th grade my teacher answered more questions than my mother about female puberty. For instance, she told use girls that we shouldn't be alarmed because uterine blood is not fresh and can come out in red-brown coagulated hunks.
My mom never taught me about periods as her mother with her.
There are BC pills that can make it so you only have periods 4x a year. Also, if you are on regular BC pills, you can "skip" the placebo week and skip or put it off for a month.
Most of my life I did not have a good health class, so I only thought I had 2 holes and I had no clue about periods. Bless her heart
6:25-6:29- i actually beg to differ on this. i’ve actually did an experiment to see if i can shorten my period by drinking a ridiculous amount of water, AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! i started on a Wednesday and was done by Friday
so moral of the story: if you drink a bunch of water before and during your period, you can shorten it to an extent
one of my friends in high school asked me why I took so long in the bathroom and why I had to bring my bag with me and I told them that I was on my period but they still didn't understand

I'm not sure 😕, unless it's because when your dehydrated your body is more tired so it takes longer? But im not sure! I do know that cloth pads lessen periods and cramps too!

Hi, I have no idea why this was recommended to me, but I've been streaming Safiya Nygaard recently, so maybe that's why (she has videos on Period products). I wanted to elaborate a little on the "periods are not all blood" statement. It's true, but what it is wasn't really clarified. During the month, your Uterus builds up a lining, that is full of nutrients that would support life should you become pregnant. (the fertilized Ovum attaches to the Uterine wall, and these nutrients help keep the baby alive.)During the month, this lining gets thicker and fuller. When you do not become pregnant, that lining (that does include blood, which is essential to all life), is shed...that shedding is your Period. Ok, off my soapbox. Keep up the great work!!! You are doing so much good, helping to educate!!! Hugs.

My 5th grade teacher said that we only got to go to the bathroom for the entire period (2 har) and i was on my period and i had to go chang my pad and she said no and that i could hold it ( i did tell her i had to change my pad ) i ended up bleeding all over the seat and shegot on to me :) she is know my least favorite teacher

So earlier it’s cool one of my friends was sitting by me. I told him I had a stomach ache because I didn’t wanna tell him I was cramping. He told me stop having a stomach ache then. I couldn’t tell him what it actually was and even if I could you can’t stop having a stomach ache.🤦♀️
The best product ever for periods in my opinion is period underwear witch if u don’t know is a pad inside your underwear that u don’t have to switch during the day u just keep them on all day and u don’t have to switch out the pad in it and u just wash it normally it is very nice it feels like a dipper at first but after a bit it feels like normal underwear and it does not make your pants look big don’t worry even with tight pants it looks normal

One time I had a male teacher, and I was on my period in sixth grade, and this is what went down:
Me: Mr. (Teacher), may I use the bathroom? It's an emergency!
Mr. (Teacher): No, just wait until class is over, there are only 25 mins left, so just hold kiddo.
Me: But I can't actually physically hold it! It's smth that I have no control over!
Mr. (Teacher): Wdym? Why can't you hold it?
Me: It's my Period (I didn't really care who knew I was on my period since I was rarely ashamed of things at 11)
Mr. (Teacher): The heck is a "period"?
Me: * Explains a period *
Mr. (Teacher): Okayyyyyyyyyyyy well... just stop for a little bit and wait for class to end.
Me: Did you not hear me??? I. Can't. Control. IT.
Mr. (Teacher): Then learn to control it!
Me: That's not POSSIBLE!
Mr. (Teacher): Well I'm still not gonna let you go.
Me: Fine then I will bleed all over your chairs and the floor.
Mr. (Teacher): As long as you clean it up.
Then I just stood up and grabbed my stuff, walked out the door, and then I went to the bathroom but I never went back to his class that day, so after I just went to my 2nd Period/class and went on with my day.
If that happens to you again, just tell him that you can’t control it, just like if I stabbed you you wouldn’t be able to control the blood. Also, not so fun fact, period cramps can hurt as bad as a heart attack.
