PROS for using a cup:
- you're not at risk for toxic shock syndrome
- changing your cup in public shouldn't be a problem as you can keep it in for like 12 hours straight
- you can literally just rinse out your cup in between uses, you don't need to do the whole shebang
- it's so much better for the planet and your wallet
- it literally works like a tampon except slightly harder to use? they even make them where you can pull down to get it out like a tampon (flexcup)
isnt tss caused by bacteria getting stuck up there tho so if u dont clean the cup fully ur still at risk?
@@yvy.830it’s actually a lot more sanitary because the cup doesn’t absorb anything (which can harbour a lot of bacteria) and also when a tampon is removed it can cause micro tears in the skin because of the fibres rubbing. The micro tears put you more at risk for infections/tss
If you have a heavy one then you maybe sgoukd change it in public!
@@yvy.830 you have almost no risk
I just was in the middle of math class then realized she posted. I clicked so fast
I have been using a menstrual cup since my third period and I’m never turning back. I never leak and it’s the most comfortable thing out there. It does take a few times to get used to, but it’s so worth it. I would recommend trying different folds with the cup. From what I could tell, you were using the c fold where you fold it into halves and do that again. I have tried that, but it doesn’t work for me. The punch down fold is also very common and works for many people. This kind of fold has a skinny place for inserting but gets wider at the bottom. Look it up. This method doesn’t work for me either. The cup just doesn’t open with either of these. The only method that works, is the v fold. You basically just fold the cup diagonally then insert it. Try a few different folds to see what works best for you. Something else to try is after you insert the cup, run your finger around the outside of the cup to make sure it is open all of the way. I know it’s weird but it prevents leaking. If even the slightest part isn’t suctioned, you may have leakage. You might not know it isn’t open all the way because there simply aren’t any nerves down there for you to feel with. Also, try tugging a little bit on the stem once inserted to see if it easily comes out. If it does, you’ve done it wrong and you will leak. Insert it again and you should feel that you have a hard time pulling at it. One more thing that may be contributing to leaking, is that you just have a little bit of blood left on the wall of your downstairs area. There isn’t a lot you can do about that. The blood left on the walls will just add a bit of leakage but it isn’t worth not using the cup. I swear, I haven’t used a pad in a year because of the cup. Super helpful. Just give it a few more cycles and you’ll fall in love with it. Nice video by the way :)
This is extremely helpful, thank you so much!
Wow Sharon replied! Lucky and I’m surprised that this comment doesn’t have more likes
@@aquaz.marina.777 yea! Also thx

Thank you so much for this! I just started using a cup and I'm having a little trouble, bc I think I amleaking, but maybe it's just that blood on the walls. I still don't know if I'm putting it in correctly, but I guess a few more tries will do the trick. Thanks again!
Me on my period literally crying my eyes out. 2 min later seeing that Sharon posed and smiling my mouth out🤩😁
Omg I don't care if other people like menstrual cups, I'm completely okay with that. But I simply cannot use them, I have a burning rage against them.
Did u have a bad experience with them?
Why? What happened?
Why?? I must know! Lol
@@lex3683 Because with my experience they leaked A LOT, I tried a bunch of different brands of menstrual cups and I leaked every time. And yes I was putting it in correctly. It might be because I have a heavy flow but it just goes everywhere for some reason. They do work for others, but from my experience I won't be trying them ever again.
i am not using them absolutely not no if i had to choose the cup or nothing nothing
The first 3 or 4 times of my period:
"this is fine, there's no pain, it's just extra work"

Heyy Sharon!! A 15 yr old fan from India.
I am using menstrual cup from 4 months and I'm happy to see this video!!!
Do you have any tips or tricks for using a cup? Hello from the US btw :)
@@charlottegreen9581 Hii! So first when i started using it, it would leak most of the time i didnt know y it was happening and realised that it wouldn't open up completely. So in this situation i had to run my finger around the rim of the cup and tug it a little bit. This surely helped but as i have a low cervix, the cup sits right under it but creates some problems like leaking even though the cup is completely open. So i might need some help for this. 😀😀
Give an update, bae. I'm also 15 and just started using a menstrual cup this cycle. Do you still use it?

I am 13 and have always wanted my period. I found just sharon's video and like just couldn't stop watching her. I saw her react to a story where this girl watched her period video and then got her period, I wished for that to happen to me. I watched her videos for two weeks and got a lot of information and knowledge about what to do. I became a woman yesterday and the first thing I thought of was Sharon. Bless her because if it weren't for her, I wouldn't know what to do. Thank you sista. I wathced this video before but came back just because I got it.
cool i want my period but then again i dont want it Lol
yesss. we stan. thanks for trying products out for us.
as someone who's used a cup for months now: i feel like people are so uneducated about this sort of thing. you have to do research to figure out what cup is going to be right for you, including looking at the height of your cervix and how soft you want the cup to be. i highly recommend doing research before using a menstrual cup because there's a lot of helpful information that will make sure you don't freak out lol. you're supposed to pinch the sides to pull it out. feel like you also have to give it a good two-cycle shot otherwise you're going to automatically hate it - it gets easier to use the more you do it, there's just a learning curve.
the sterilizing cup just boils it in water, so if you want to do that in a pot i find that more convenient.
p.s. about the pee thing - that's normal! something about bowel movement down there kind of loosens it but *only* while you're using the bathroom. that's why that was the only time there was leakage.
Oh, a 20 minuite video? I'm so excited🥳😂
Once you figure out how to use it properly it is literally the best thing ever
i would love for this to turn into a series x
Please do a series with trying different products!

I LOVE the new videos your posting gurl!
I got my period today. Worst thing tho... I went to go pee during the 10 minute transition between the lessons and I was in for a shock, I didn’t have any pads with me and I started panicking and like shaking cuz I didn’t know what to do. I went out of the bathroom to try and go to maybe a teacher or like the medical place to ask for a pad but I saw my friend outside the toilets so I told her and she was calming me down and another friend came out of the bathrooms and I explained to her what was going on and she was nice enough to go and get me a pad. She brought me two and I’m really grateful she did cuz I would have started crying right there. Nobody needed to know this but I just wanted to say
Wait you have ten minutes between classes? At my school we have only one and a half minutes between classes
Awe im so glad. What a miracle

People still says that "it's a blessing from my grandfather"..
I love that these videos come out when in on my period
Queen sharon👑
I liked the video before watching it because I know our queen will never let us down
Cups are a bit tricky to put in the first time. It took me at least 30 mins my first time but now it takes me not even a minute. Just fold one side in, insert it at the highest point, then grab the base and twist it until you feel the suction form. You won’t even feel it!!! They’re safer than tampons, and keep everything just clean and dry!!!
Hi Sharon !💖

She is so brave
I started wearing menstrual cups 3 years ago. My favourite one is honestly the salt soft. It's so comfortable and its much more comfortable than pads and tampons for me. I can't use pads at all as I can't seem to position them right and tampons are too dry for me and both of them give me cramps and my period was 6 days long or more. With menstrual cups, they don't give me the discomfort that pads and tampons give me and my periods are 4 days long now with hardly any cramps. So honestly, cups are way better for me. If you are scared of wearing cups, just give them a go. I thought I'd never be able to use one but here I am lol
I’ve been using the menstrual cup for about 5 years now (I was looking forward to the day that you made this video 😅) and I always thought that when they said to sterilize in between each use meant to sterilize from one period to another. That’s how I’ve always done it and I’m fine lol. Also my cup got really stained and I recently learned that if you soak your cup in hydrogen peroxide for a few hours it makes it look brand new again! I know you said read that the cup should get in contact with that kind of stuff but I don’t think silicone absorbs stuff like that, then again idk so I’m gonna have to do some more research. Thanks for the video! Love you 😽
Haii I love you so much Sharon! 🥺❤️

Hey, quick note. I`m a young explorer in the world of period protection. I taught myself how to use a tampon and ever since then was wondering if there was a more cost-effective way to get through periods. At 15, I discovered the Menstrual cup. It was a life saver and i couldnt imagine any other way. It does only need to be rinsed when you empty it out every twelve hours, and boiled in between cycles.... you definetly can boil it every time but its not mandotory. love that you made a video about this, because ive been trying to convert every girl i know over to menstrual cups!!!
R tampons easy??
I love how youtube decided to tell me you had posted a video 20 minutes later by the way I love you and your videos and can't stop binge watching your videos

Wow. Thanks for doing this video!!! It helped a lot.

When you're so early no one's praying for your family
Thank you for the video!! I've tried the cup so far twice and haven't had any leakage, and have had it in for the full 12 hours without doing a check every 4-6 hours. I'm not sure if it's due to the brand or what, hopefully it'll work for you and not leak!! The brand I have says small is for anyone under like 17-18, medium is for anyone who's over that age, and large is for anyone over 30, or had a full term natural delivery. That could be why it leaked because it wasn't the right size. Also, it says the part coming down it just a guide to show you where the cup is, to not actually use it to pull the cup out that it could tear off or something. To use that to get to the bottom of the cup, gently squeeze it, and move it side to side while gently pulling it out! Hope that helps!! Love your videos!
I love you, you have helped me through everything you are the best thank you for everything ❤️💛❤️
Alright I am early, so excited!! I haven’t gotten my period yet, all my friends have theirs and I kinda feel left out, is that weird?? Love you Sharon
that's not weird , ur lucky you get to enjoy not having to worry about your period lol 😂
You're not missing out on anything, trust me, they probably envy you for not having yours yet. Enjoy it while you can!
Trust me you are lucky I was in the same situation all my friends started early like 9/10 and I started at 15 so I definitely know what it feels to be left out but srsly don’t be
Trust me, i got my second period yesterday and i hate it.
I stained my underwear because it was unexpected after 35 days!!
So please enjoy it
Hey! This was interesting to watch cause I just started using a cup too! I leaked some the first couple times too, n I wonder if maybe the cup just wasnt opening properly or maybe it was just blood on the outside of the cup from the process of putting it in... but I've used it for a few months now n it's just fine!! I normally just rinse it with water when I empty it then I REALLY clean it when my period is done. I really like that I feel cleaner 'down there' than when I used tampons... but the whole situation is definitely something that takes some getting used to!😜
I think it may be that it’s not opened all the way either! Thank you, this was helpful!! :)
