Great review. I am a WC rider and I take my exact ski in the ocean. I do 60 mile (round trip) cruzes to Catalina Island. Its winter season so I often travel in 4-5' seas and she handles very nice. I would second your recomendation to anyone who is considering to purchase this unit.
I'm waiting on delivery of an FX Cruiser SVHO here in Rhode Island anytime now. I'll be in rough water conditions quite a bit. Do you find the ride very wet in chop, and heavey seas (3-4 feet)? And, how is your gas consumption on the trips to Catalina? Do you make it out and back on one tank of gas? I'll be making a similar trip out to Block Island (about the same distance you mentioned). Stay well!
Great looking waverunner, and comprehensive review. Thanks.! Love your videos, but haven't seen one in a while, though. Waiting on delivery of my FX Cruiser SVHO up here in Rhode Island. @@JP516
@@donaldwest9103 Hi Donald, if you find yourself in 3-4 ft seas with wind blowing your gonna get wet for sure. I’ve been riding in a 3/2 wet suit complete with a jacket and I have been fine. I highly suggest neoprene gloves, I believe my gloves are a 5 and that seems to keep my hands warm. I would suggest a thicker wet suit for your climate. I also highly suggest socks and riding boots. The fuel consumption depends on a variety of factors. Wind, current, throttle control. I have rode to Catalina and back on 1 tank, but she was beeping and I was under 10% of fuel by the time I got back to the dock. I’m looking at installing an extra 6 gallon tank. I’m probably going to mount it in the forward compartment. fuel is expensive at these remote island fueling docks and most places don’t offer 91. I keep a bottle of oxy booster in case I am forced to take on regular fuel. Another option is to get a rack, I suggest “PWC super racks” for a quality easy to mount system. You can fit 2 x 5gal fuel carriers in there as a back up in case you need to fuel at sea for emergencies. Good luck, your gonna love it. This was the best purchase I ever made. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Ceramic coatings don’t prevent water spots.. they actually make them more common due to the ceramic coating properties and how it embeds the water and dirt..it will make it easier to clean though and the ski will pretty much dry itself off.
Thanks for putting this vid together. This was very well done. Some of the same type of vids have wind blowing in the mic which is distracting. Love the personal review of pros that you like. I just ordered a ‘22 limited standard (non-HO) in red/tan.
Looks good I ordered this ski but it hasn't arrived at the dealer yet. Is there any special maintenance you have to do for the SVHO or just the normal oil change stuff and break in period?
I just got the 10hr service done and I didn’t hear different than normal maintenance. I heard they don’t even change the spark plugs until 50hrs. Like n sub for more on it !
My vote is a big yes!! I also just recently purchased one as well. Great machine and easy to maintain. Check out my review as well as my video showing you how to change the oil yourself. Great video. Keep them coming!
Ive been watching your videos because like you, Ive narrowed it down to the gp and the supercharged fx limited. Not sure if you bought yours cash but can you make a video on your financing options at the time you bought a new waverunner? Who are good lenders for those trying to get prequalified before getting to the dealer, any info would help thanks
I hope this helps your decision. I really don’t know what’s the best way to go about financing because we didn’t. So I wouldn’t know how to advise u on that. But I’m sure the dealer can help.
@@JP516 Yeauuuuhhh... 😂😂😂. I kind of answered my own question the moment I saw the Porsche video 😂. Thanks for the reply, my credit is good and Im planning on paying it off within a year. I just didnt want to walk into the dealership and rely on their financing. I wanted to have my own financing in place but just cant find lenders for toys. Thanks for the videos.

Wax it every other month. Ceramic coat doesn’t last very much on the ocean. If you on a lake it’s good but the ocean doesn’t believe in ceramic. Salt destroy everything. Ceramic coating isn’t cheap. I would buy a good quality paste (not liquid) wax and apply it every other month.
@@JP516 it’s will just last a few month and you gotta do it again. Specially if you ride every weekend. I haven’t done it but I have a friend that did it. And he said it may be got 3-4 of protection.
