Salt Away is a great product. Flushing after every ocean run is a must! I use it even after fresh water runs out of habit.

I appreciate the info, that was my question. I just bought a new ski and I live in the Midwest, so I am becoming familiar with running water craft in saltwater. Im going to Florida for a week and didnt know if I could leave my ski on the water and wash it before I leave or should I flush it daily. I see you cant play around with this at all so I will flush after every run.

Well looks like my son just did this to our new ski. He had the hose running, ski would not start, was messing with the battery for a while. Gave up. Removed hose. 2 weeks later we take a look. Won't turn over. Replace starter solenoid. Still just a click. I reviewed with him what he did and experienced. We pull plugs and sure enough full of water. Sucked it all out. New plugs almost started for a second. Pulled plugs again. I push on the pistons and the back one moves down like 2 inches. Oh oh. Remover cover to spin motor from shaft. Front and middle piston go up and down, rear does not. Flm. Just spend 12 gs on this thing. Now motor needs rebuilt.

I’ve had a Yamaha 212x boat since 2017. I’ve always followed the Engine On
    Water On
    Water OFF
    Engine OFF
They really hammered that in me when I bought it. And it also says that in the service manual.
However, before my new boat, I had a 23 year old Sugar Sand Jet boat with a Mercury 6cyl 2 stroke sport jet… and I always put the water on first and turned the water off last, and I never had any issue. I wonder if the design was totally different or if I really was risking it, I never knew ? All I know is I don’t risk it on the new boat, especially since I was informed from the start.

I do it very similar except I start by spraying the ski/trailer first and then flush the engine that way I'm letting the salt away work on the ski/trailer while flushing.... I use a foamer dispenser for the ski/trailer and then switch to what you use for the engine flush...

Per accident, I turned off the engine, while the flesh hose was still pumping a little bit. I immediately stopped the pump and start the engine again, and put some small throttle. Later on the engine still started like nothing was wrong. What do you think? Would it immediately affect the engine if something went wrong?

One secret, the best way to clean, de-salt and lubricate the engine cooling system and Water Pump Impeller is to use a mixture of antifreeze coolant with water. The system you use is fantastic, it's just that it's better and cheaper antifreeze coolant.

Hey man, I like your videos. Thank you for what you do. I have a question for you. I just bought a GP SVHO 2024 and took it to the beach yesterday. It was my first run, and I'm new to all this. I bought Salt-Away, like you mentioned in your videos, but when I went to flush it, it didn't fit. Now, the issue is that Amazon will take 3-5 days to deliver the flex hose. Do you think it will be safe to wait until the flex hose arrives, or do you have any other recommendations? Is there someone who sells a different adapter that I could use until I get my hose?

    • @Watercraftshack

Check your local powersports dealers they should have some, if not just flush with water with the attachment that came with the ski. You shouldn’t have any issues until the new parts come in
