Anyone with a long back, do make sure it fits you comfortably! The Atto 3 for me made my top of my shoulders sore after just a 30 min test drive, then at a later date I tried the Dolphin and had no such issues, the Dolphin headrest was ever so slightly higher than the Atto 3, so just check that as no BYD have adjustable headrests
I've driven the Premium and just love the smooth power and all that torque. Not a GT, but still very comfortable and acceptable. My only criticism is the tyres that they come with are inadequate and need replacing with better quality, like the Continental or Kumo.
Love it! Preorder my own already, but we only have FWD version in Philippines and low specs 😢 the price above 28k US dollars and over more than 2 months line up. Love your review and very helpful, thank you Jerry!🎉
The suspension is terrible for Australian roads. It’s great around city traffic as it’s soft and soaks up low speed bumps and road imperfections. It desperately needs a calibration as its high speed compression and rebound doesn’t provide much confidence when touring. Yes it’s not a sports car however it can be improved. My only criticism so far from an owners perspective. Nice review. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, many Chinese cars focus on the softer suspension set up and it is not the best for Australian or New Zealand country roads. This will definitely be addressed for future products.
@@JerryPanandCars I wouldn't say many and you definitely can not say will be addressed unless you have this in writing from the actual manufacturer! As someone who has several business interests in China with over 50 visits covering the last 3 decades I've learnt a thing or two. One example being Tesla. Would you say they have softer suspensions in the Model 3 and Y? No.
I'm currently looking at this model and the KGM Torres EVX. the BYD has advanced tech and a more luxurious interior. However, i have found the driving not smooth. the Torres sits on the road better and a much smoother ride, especially when cornering. I am torn between the two vehicles, and the price range is similar. Your comments would be appreciated.
I talked to someone from South Africa and he mentioned the charging facility is a pain. EV sales in South Africa is close to none-existence. I'm assuming that hurts the chance of BYD's arrival as they focus on EV and PHEV.
I filmed a version of it driving on ACC / ICC through Auckland traffic but I messed up the tutorial missing a couple of points. I'm not sure if I will release it anymore.
Yes, Song Plus DMi in China, Seal U in EU and Sealion 6 in Southeast Asia plus Oceania. Sealion 7 is possibly the next passenger car. It is like a crossover coupe type. I'd say X4 or X3 size not as big as X6. Thanks
That's not correct based on the information available online. This is a plug-in hybrid. The petrol motor may work like a generator at low speed but it will drive the wheels when needed. It is also mentioned as eCVT for the transmission according to the Chinese website. Thanks
@@JerryPanandCars Hmmmmm, interesting. Our local dealer is advertising at 240kw. Digging deeper, it looks like the NZ model is actually 238kw in combined power for the Premium model.
Mistake: The combined power for this vehicle should be 238kW (319hp). Sorry I was wrong in the video.
What a beautiful car to drive!🤩
Awesome to be in for sure!

Good suggestion.
30 minutes test drive 😮
Hey Jerry, loving my BYD Sealion 6.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
How’s fuel economy?

Yes, even the base model is fine for daily drive really. A better tyre will help a lot I agree.
What tyre do they come with stock?
great video, thanks a lot it helps mi to see more details about this car like welcome lights, regards from Poland

@@marcusgeorge1825 Maybe relate to the home contry's infrastructure?
Article out yesterday: BYD Sealion 6 to get local suspension updates (for Australia - not sure if also other countries)

I haven't driven the Torres so it is hard to compare. I agree with you on the pro and cons on the BYD though.
Please bring this model to South Africa.

Keen to see how its on highway

This is a Seal U in Eu..
Seal lion is a cupe like X6 in China..am I right?..

@@JerryPanandCars that's weird. Seal U in EU is EV and it look different!
does it have dashcam installed like atto3 ?
Not for this car.
The new Sealion 7 EV and 2025 sealion plug in hybrid even more impressive 😮
Yep but we won't have it until a couple of years maybe.
Jerry...is this model come with dashcam camera?
@@liewkwetwei9838 not as far as I know but double check with your local dealer.
When will the 2025 model come to the netherlands?
No idea :(
There is no eCVT transmission in this car, because it directly drives an electric motor, the petrol engine is only a generator.

Sealing 6 gas consumption is??
Thanks 😮
Has updated on my most recent shorts. Check it out:)
I think you're a tad lite on the total Kw...dealers are recording total as 240kW.
It is the NZ / AU version spec sheet that says 220kW combined. Different market may have different rating.

BYD bring Sealion into Malaysia
the dmi tech is now adapted to japanese cars in china
Nice
Rust??

Shit fissssh and chips ...love your work.
