Good channel and enjoying the content, but re your comment on the fuel gauge range being % not kms, I disagree. I just filled up my Dynamic - its was showing 585 kms of range. The car took 24.8 litres of fuel. I had done 400kms in HEV mode since the last fill up. So 400/24.8=16.13 kms per litre, which is 6.2 l/100 - thats my fuel usage rate. So, before re-fuelling I had 35.2 litres left in the tank (60-24.8) and the suggested range was 585kms. 585/35.2 = 16.61 kms per litre, which is about 6 l/100kms - so the range the car is predicting is very similar to the consumption achieved since the last fill-up. Hope this make sense.
We need to conduct further testing. Here’s what I’ve observed with the premium version. Could you confirm if your version behaves similarly? In our tests, we found that a full tank always shows a 1000 km range, regardless of driving history or style. No matter how we drive, the range consistently decreases in a linear fashion-905 km, 904 km, 903 km, 901 km, 900 km, and so on. This could indicate that the gauge is functioning as you described. However, we’ve never been able to reach a 1000 km range in practice. I’ll pin this comment to the video for others to see, as different firmware versions or dynamic calculations may cause discrepancies from results. More testing is needed to verify our version of events. For example, when the range shows 900 km remaining, can we fill 6 litres before the tank is full? Similarly, at 500 km remaining, can we fill close to 30 litres? These tests could help clarify things. I am in no way saying you are wrong and this just means we need to do further experiments to determine whats going on here, thank you for sharing your input here!
@@AllTerrainActionEV With the Dynamic the range goes to 1100 after a fill-up (lighter car and no turbo). Thats a theoretical fuel use of 5.45l/100km. With the scenario I wrote about, it was saying 585 range left, I had done 400kms on HEV, so the car had adjusted its initial range forecast from 1100 to 985. So I think the SL6 is monitoring average fuel use and adjusting the forecast accordingly - btw my car was carrying a 5.3 metre sea kayak for all the 400kms on mainly highways, so I think 6.2l/100km is pretty good.
@@AllTerrainActionEV 1000km range is more for city driving, where there are a lot more regen. If you drive a lot of freeways and countryside, then consumption is higher as there is hardly any regen happening.

I enquired today with a BYD dealership about the SL6 coming out with better suspension. Doesnt seem correct to me based on your video: The SL06 has already had its suspension tuned prior to release. The article that is being references online is from prior to release of the vehicle based feedback of floaty suspension when it was doing its initial road testing.
I can assure you a change is coming I have a email communication with support in relation to this, just no specifics for dates or changes - but there is something coming.

Thanks for the video. I was thinking that I'd get somewhere (Probably Pedders) to replace the shocks/springs for a better ride but your comment about warranty has made me think twice. If you change the suspension, does it only affect warranty with the suspension or are there further impacts? @AllTerrainActionEV both 😁, I usually drive at 130-14kmph, I want to make sure that there won't be wind noise and engine noise, and make sure it's stable.
@ wind noise definitely, that’s for sure and prominent from 70-80km or faster. Road noise seems good for a vehicle moving at 130. Engine noise is negligible at cruising speeds in HEV mode, but if you demand power from both EV and ICE engines you can hear the ice engine ramp up (a little bit) but it’s not what I would say annoying. It’s subtle.
@@lilburger4274 best I can do is 110km/hr here to keep the fun police at bay, sorry - carexpert would have likely preformed a 130km/hr test though on the Sealion if they reviewed it. I recalled an overtake I had to do sometime back, it held steady and stable though, the only downside for the suspension is coils and dampeners are just softer than suited for Australia highways. Handling is 8/10 in my books and I accelerate out of my corners HARD for the purpose of enjoyment and cars holds traction, factory rubber skips a little and I haven’t been able to yet change them as wearing them down but that would certainly make an improvement for any driving enthusiasts out there.
I still don't trust the auto-steer, it still can't take corners. auto-steer will disconnect without notice when it doesn't see the road marking or the concrete and white isn't enough contrast. The centre lane keeping is also unreliable as it has yanked me to on coming traffic and not keeping centre lane. The rear axel suspension needs stronger shock absorbers, every time i go over a speed bump a bit too fast i feel my ass. The tyres are terrible, in my front wheel drive i got wheel spin on a slightly damp road. RADAR cruise control brakes too late and accelerates too slowly.
