@@ChaseCarneson Exactly, I will echo what 'Ae Nortist' was saying. What you say when you say it feels genuine. That is what I LOVE about reaction channels! I know the song, I know my first reaction. And it is just wonderful to see that a person with a lot more knowledge about this reacts to this song.
Every time I watch one of your video's it feels like I am learning. You have a nice clear commentary on it centered around your own personality with enough objecticity, which is really hard to find. And I have been around watching a LOT of reactions to this song, and Nightwish songs in general.
It is just refreshing to find a person with an honest subjective view that has enough knowledge to drop some objective bombs!
And yes, the quality of the edits are very good, especially for a starting channel! Although I would give the warning about background lighting, make sure the background is not more lit than you are. You are the focus of your video's, and really, with your insights that should be more than enough. So in short, the highest of praises to you! You who dares to put yourself and your opinions out there. Keep on keepin' on man!

Tati is a beast and Jinjer is an awesome band,- we all know that by now.
What really makes the difference for me is something most people seem to overlook.
Jinjer, - being from the easternmost part of Europe bordering on Russia and what is the beginning of the Middle East,- their traditional music is based around folk tunes and folk dances rooted in a wide variety of off meters.
Allmost none of their song have any kind of straight backbeat to them or in them.
    Tons of 3/4, 5/4, 7/4, 12/8, 9/8, 6/4, 6/8, 15/8 etc,- but almost no 4/4 or 2/4 anywhere.
If you sit down and start tapping your foot to any of their songs and then start counting meters and bars you´ll quickly find that they don´t adher to standard forms of doing rock, pop and metal songs,- yet everything they do is done so smoothly and with such fluency that nobody seems to notice.
I have by now watched quite a few Jinjer reactions,- including from various musicians´s channels,- on rare occasions do even the musicians note anything funky going on,- which to me is very impressively done by Jinjer.
Pisces is a very melodically flowing song, but even when they chop things up and go percussive, though heavy and in your face, it´s still as groovy and flowing as a RHCP or Rage Against The Machine song.
I´ve heard women growl ,fry and scream before,- it´s just that Tati is an absolute master at it, I´ve heard funky beats before, I´m a born metalhead so the guitar playing is nothing new to me but Jinjer´s combination of it all mated with their uncanny second nature sense of what to the rest of us would be off beat and strange rhythms stands out to me as being unique.
And because they´re so god at it and it comes so naturally to them even the musicians don´t notice something that should be screaming in their faces!
An awesome band and a high-level display of consumate musicianship.
Only serves to heigthen my respect for them.

Yes, two vocals. They layered them after the fact. It’s most notable during the “Neptune’s child” verse. There’s a whisper dubbed over her clean voice. In live performances, Eugene has stated that they use only a short delay to double her voice and make it fatter.

The extreme vocals (as Tati refers to them as) is actually 2 tracks as well. Anyway it's not like they tried to hide the fact that there is some post production done, it's in the video description. Not the specifics of it though IIRC. But no tuning or other dirty tricks, at least I can't hear it. I usually can...

@@v0vab0b yes I know they use a click track, but pretty sure they did the extra vox in post here. They don't have the additional vocal tracks as part of the live show so it wouldn't make sense to create a separate click track just for this one recording. But that's just semantics and doesn't really matter. :)

They use drop A tuning. Roman (guitar) and Eugene (bass) both use a Helix. Roman's European live rig is a 6505 and in the U.S. it's a 5150. The tone is a mix of the Helix and amp pre with some IRs for consistency between rigs, but most of the tone is the Helix itself. He's slamming the front end with boost/slight OD and uses very little amp distortion to get that clear-cut tone. (Edited, I had the amps switched)
    ua-cam.com/video/eWhvEQVnC3k/v-deo.html
It's funny how you mentioned the drummer (Vlad). This was actually the first song they recorded with him. Pisces was already recorded and on their album King of Everything with their previous drummer (who now mixes their live sound), but after they heard how he changed it from what was on the album, they decided to go back and record this.

Best live performances are probably Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air 2019, Who is Gonna Be The One (Live), and Captain Clock Live at Ressurection Fest. Also good is On the Top Live in Kiev. They have a lot of Official Videos that look like live performances but they are just using live footage (sometimes from one show and sometimes from several shows) as a backdrop for the official album version of the song.

You might not hear everything each member can do in the course of a single song, and that’s ok. I also love both of Tatiana’s voices...they stand alone great and can hold their own. Dmitri Kim is a bad ass drummer by all means and thankfully he was able to continue playing. He fell out of a motel window back in 2016 and sustained a pretty serious injury. The whole band had to scrap money to get him a surgery. He did all the drum work on King of Everything and that is who you see on the I speak Astronomy official video. you can also see a few videos with Jinjer live, and go to his you tube channel dmitri kim. He's a session player now, but on his channel he does a segment of I speak astronomy. He hasn't lost a lick.

I really liked your reaction mate!
Out of curiosity, by chance is your inset video set at a low resolution? I ask just since when there’s text on screen within the inset video (like at 11:54), the text looks kinda pixelated a bit?
And if you might like to listen to more Jinjer, I think you’d really enjoy “Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019)” and “Who’s Gonna Be the One”-and that’s just to name two among many others! (And both of those are live to boot!)
And just as a preemptive heads-up: If you might like to pronounce “Wacken” like the locals, one would say “Vah-ken.” (In German, “W” is pronounced like a “V” is in English.) I’m only mentioning that part just since most folks seem to stumble over that one a bit.

Love the analysis. It's so interesting how many people don't understand Pisces the Astrological sign which is fish. But if you look at the sign, it's the duality and almost Yin/Yang hence the reason for the duality in the composition. She's a Pisces and so am I so I supposed that's the reason I understand why this song flips back and forth between these two styles. I find it so awesome! Thanks for the reaction and I know my comment is super late but I just recently go turned on to Jinjer and Tatiana. Better late than never! 🤘🤘🤘
DUALITY: Feminine - Pisces is known as a feminine sign as it is more receptive than assertive in its energy. This is also known as Yin energy (Yang is Masculine)

Great analysis - subbed. Glad you picked up on the vocal layers and editing - it's kinda painful when someone thinks this is actually live. :p I've seen them twice and they are epic on stage, at least as good as what they do in studio. The guys are all incredible (Roman on guitar, Eugene on bass, and Vlad on drums) but it is easy to miss that as great as Tatiana is. If you want to check out a bootleg, best I've seen of Pisces is in the live in Israel full set uploaded by Idan Shahar - links to each song are in the top comment. Perennial live at Wacken is a great follow-up reaction that is more representative of their style, though even that is lightly retouched. It shows off her cleans but doesn't get into her lowest growls (neither does Pisces).

Appreciate the kind words, Jeffrey. Still very impressed with band and song regardless of the "live" nature of the recording. Technical without being too forced. I'll definitely give that one a listen then. Also, properly jealous you've seen them live.

AS for the "Live" part, I did a major rant a while back as to why this is not live audio or video. No need to go over it. I really wanted to say that all the official live stuff is of course taken to a studio and cleaned up a bit before release by most record labels. Its not like the old days though where jimmy page spent weeks touchng stuff up. Jinjer is that good live, they dont need much help to make something sound good. Their old drummer seems to do a lot of it for them and knows how they should sound. I have seen some bootlegs from nights that Tatiana is stuggling to hear and gets off a bit. but that is the nature of live music. I have been listening for a couple years now, I just heard a mistake for the first time from these guys. (BIG worng note... the kind that gets a conversation later ) A rare moment they prove they are only human. lol.
As for live gear, both the guitar and bass are run through the Helix Line 6 processors direct to the board. They used to use big amps on stage but have gotten down to tiny cabs now and no munitors as they are using the in ear tech. I did a rant on that then saw a recent show with full amps again, but then found that they couldn't use all the fancy gear so they have backup gear for smaller venues or just in case.
Now I second Jeffreys recomendation of Perennial at Wacken. Just so you know, they do play live to backing tracks. they contain a metronome, intros, 2nd guitar parts from old songs when they had 2 guitarists, sound effects like a clock ticking, and in the case of Perennial, they have the intro and some vocal harmonies in the quiet part that she has to be right on time to match.
Sorry to sound like a nerdy musician, but I am what I am.
