The first reaction to Pisces which has a lyrical breakdown, that is a win. This band have intricate, melodic almost Jazz layers. Then they bring the weight. All that combined with the astonishing duality of the vocalist... Just wow. I wish them as much success as they want to have.

You nailed the lyrics' breakdown. Tatiana had just come out of a depression before they started working on the album King Of Everything, so this song is kind of putting down in writting what she went through and how she dealt with it as a native of Pisces. Kind of a closure to that period. She had a little help from Eugene, the bass player, who's also a Pisces.
This band is my new obsession. I have been listening to them literally every single day for the last 2 months. Went from obsessing over Ghost to this band. Two awesome bands IMO.

I've easily heard this song over 1000 times in the last 6 months. It still gives me chills every time!
Tatiana wrote the lyrics, she is Pisces. Pisces have difficulty setting healthy borders, they tend to rather let themselves be hurt than fight back. So the only protection is by avoidance, being skiddish. "don't rely on me and I won't deceive". Out of avoidance they tend to addiction and spirituality (underworld). Pisces are very romantic, dream of the true love that will catch them and draw them into the light. But that often leads to being abused and stripped of their protective scales.
Her voice is jazzy cause she was also a jazz singer. If this generation has had no metall genre then she would've sang jazz absolutely. Loved your breakdown, especially the last part with ''the callous men'', you totally nailed it.

Check them out live.. They are amazing. I saw them late last year in Wisconsin with Devildriver and got to meet them.. They are so nice and humble.. amazing people. She's so tiny and beautiful and absolutely sweet.

"Voice of an angel" was also my first reaction, but to me it is even more. Taking also the lyrics into account, her voice is more siren like, once heard you can't stay away from it. I've heard this song first time a few weeks ago but listened to it at least a hundred times already. And her voice is also extremely powerful, as one can hear in the second line of the last chapter... I'm so in love with this voice... and her look... and everything. Dude, holy shit. The cutting table as the bed. WOW. That is so powerful, heartbreaking. Clearly, the "emeralds are RIPPED away" is a pain filled lyric but that read is so harsh. Not saying it's wrong or anything but, wow. That made me sob. Very interesting take on the meaning. (I personally suck at seeing into poetry so appreciate the nuances I totally miss).

Congratulations on the excellent Pisces reaction video! I've seen almost all of them (!) and yours one of the best! In the lyrics I think you are very close. Tatiana Shmalyuk, the lead singer of the group herself is a pisces by the sign of the zodiac, and she spoke in an interview this song is very close to her. The song is about the finding love of a shy and skittish girl, about the struggle of two entities inside her mind. Dramatic story told from the perspective of a fish - the only option to see the sun beams for the fish is to decide to choose your hook, go for self-sacrifice in order to experience a moment of happiness and then your heart will be crushed by handsome men..very cool lyrics and performance. gl!

I really enjoyed witnessing your first exposure to the titanic talent that is Jinjer. Tatiana is an absolute beast of a vocalist. She rocks it every bit this hard live, too. They put on one hell of a tight show live. They're an amazing band. It's always great to watch people first experience her vast range and amazing skill. I fell in love with this band the moment I watched this video, too. They're badass as hell.

Tatiana has been in the band for 9 years, and started growling about a year before that. Eugene started shortly after. They've gone through drummers like Spinal Tap, though. ;)

The first time I heard this, it came across autoplay on UA-cam while I was afk cooking. I came back right at the end. I thought it was two vocalists. I was not ready. I was in love instantly too, and I don't think I've heard the first song I didn't like.
Also, I used to think Arch Enemy was good, and Straight Line Stitch too, then I heard Jinjer. Honestly I can't listen to a lot of metal anymore, because Tatiana is just so much better it makes a lot of others seem...........horrible. "...This chick...., fucking insane...." is right.

Everyone just listens gets super shocked at her gutturals and then either ends it after the song ends or continues to talk about how surprising it was for a girl to produce said guttural vocals. This was a well thought out, intelligent breakdown of the lyrics and pretty close to what I have seen and read about this beautifully written and performed song. Agreed fully - Lead singers fairly or unfairly wear the brunt of a lot of the bands image - but truthfully she is a unique specimen in the realms of our musical choice and luckily for all of us this group makes it all happen together.
Love reactions to this song from fellow metalheads the most. I think they really appreciate the musicianship and Tatiana's vocals and lyrics more than someone who isn't into the genre.
