How to Clean and Roll Bounce House Tarps (Quick and Easy!)

- Here's a quick tarp folding tutorial for how I clean, roll, and store tarps for my bounce house business, The Jump Off.
As you'll see, I have streamlined this process as much as possible, because, as you well know, cleaning the tarps is generally the most dreaded activity of owning a bounce house business!

The other thing that I mention and the end of the video is how I tag my tarps!
I put colored zip ties at 2 corners (diagonal from each other). Green is 20x20, Orange is 20x30, and blue is 20x40.
How to Clean and Roll Bounce House Tarps (Quick and Easy!)
Step 1. Open and stake down the tarp
Step 2. Spray the dirty areas of the tarp with the hose to loosen dirt
Step 3. Unstake 2 corners and pull tarp to flip over
Step 4. Restake tarp how you had it
Step 5. Use leaf blower to remove debris and dry the tarp a little
Step 6. Fold tarp in half, fold in half again, fold in half again.
Step 7. Unstake the tarp, and roll tightly!

Nick quit his 16 year "career" as as a District Manager for Journeys shoes in August 2019, and while he worked to scale The Jump Off, he drove uber, sold trash that he found on the side of the road, and picked up as many odd jobs (like building swing sets) as he could.
Then in late 2019, Nick hit "The Bounce House lottery" (originleadersh...) and when the pandemic shut everything down in 2020, he sprung into action and took that moment to make The Jump Off what it is today!

what size stakes do you use for tarps and same for inflatables
10 inch (I think) from harbor freight and then 18” anchors for the inflatables.
I toss mine in the back of my truck and leave them until the next weekend. If there is a little mud on it, I use the customers water hose to get it off.
We unload them into the storage unit but yep pretty much the same. We only clean them if they get super muddy. Otherwise we clean on site just like this vid
How big of a tarp you need for these bounce houses?
So I really use only 3 sizes, 20’ x 20’ for small bouncers. 20’ x 30’ for medium combos, and 20’ x 40’ for the big water slides!

What mil do you use 14 or less thicker?
I use the cheapest from harbor freight so they’re like 4mil, but I do that because in Louisiana it’s soooo muddy and sloppy that I have to have tarps under the whole entire slide so I only have 20’x30’ and 20’x50’ tarps

Yep I have some that I bought the other day for that actually! It’s easy to keep it all organized when it’s me doing all the work but we have 6 employees now and it’s getting hectic! Haha.
