How to Roll an 18 Foot Waterslide Alone (as a Skinny Dude) Inflatable Rolling Straps
Вставка

- Today I'm going to show you how roll an 18 foot waterslide using Inflatable Rolling Straps that I custom design and sell, called The Pull Off…becase no matter how big the slide, you can pull it off!!
To buy The Jump Off Rolling Straps straps, go here: thejumpoffstore.com
Being in the Bounce House Business is tough enough already, and when Covid infections sidelined some of the Jump Offs guys on BUSY weekends, we had to get smart and figure out how to pick up the big slides alone. I'd seen some other rolling straps before and tried using heavy tow straps but they were always so big and bulky that they sat in the truck unused. After a conversation with another bounce house operator, the idea to use the webbing straps that are commonly used to tie up rolled inflatables popped in my head, so we tested them out and they worked great!
I decided I could probably design a great pair of rolling straps that would be compact and light weight but still effective. Plus, everything I use gets popular fast so I also designed them so I make them available to YOU!
So if you want to buy a pair of The Roll Off rolling straps, here's that link one more time:

Nick quit his 16 year "career" as as a District Manager for Journeys shoes in August 2019, and while he worked to scale The Jump Off, he drove uber, sold trash that he found on the side of the road, and picked up as many odd jobs (like building swing sets) as he could.
Then in late 2019, Nick hit "The Bounce House lottery" (originleadership.com/bounce-h...) and when the pandemic shut everything down in 2020, he sprung into action and took that moment to make The Jump Off what it is today!

Can I order some
Yep here’s the URL! thejumpoffstore.com/products/rolling-straps-the-pull-off-2-inch
@@nick_o_glass just ordered them thank you
Thanks man!
Man you have no clue how much this helped. Bought my first slide and it weighs 1000 lbs. with me and my strongest buddy rolling it is still really rough. This probably saved us hours every day bro thank you so much.
1000??? Damn that’s like a 30ft dual lane?? 1000 is big man. Our 27ft dual lane is 750lbs
started working for inflatable companies this year in march and i just gotta say you definitely mastered how to work smarter with this stuff. not to mention im 6'2" and a good 135-140 lbs so im for sure using this rolling method next summer. stay on the grind and best of luck to your business!!!
Thanks man!!
I just bought a bike airbag that weighs 425lbs and your videos have been a life saver. I'm still rolling my bag by hand, but it's so exhausting after riding for a few hours I'm going to have to try the straps. Keep the videos coming man. Always good stuff.
For sure man! Here’s the link if you need it nickglassett.com/product/the-pull-off-rolling-straps/
You don't appreciate these videos until you try to do this on your own. 500 lbs is a reality when it's just you and the slide and who knows how many people are watching and laughing while you are stroking out in someone's yard.
Haha there’s something romantic and daunting about it being just YOU vs THE SLIDE when you’re solo.
@@nick_o_glass I'll be buying your straps today
😂😂😂😂😂😂 FACTS😅
@@nick_o_glassso how can a small woman do that? 😂 there’s no way! Any advice for us little ppl? Don’t tell me I need a strong man cuz then I’m going to ask where can I get one of those at a discount 😂. I wanted to start my own business but I’ll be in it alone until I grow and I don’t mean in hight or weight 😜
This guy is amazing, always coming up with great ideas, the guru of inflatables!!!!!!
Thanks Jose! Means a lot to read that comment!
Get you a pair of muck brand boots. Worth every penny. I’ve had mine for like 7 years and they’re still kicking.
Beed doing rentals for 4 years now. Just rolled up a 50ft obstacle using your methods and it is the tightest roll I've ever made!!! Thank You!!
Josh
Nice job Josh!! 🤘🏼
Recently bought a set of these straps from Nick. 3 rolls in so far, all have been flooded units and it made the process so much easier. Glad to find the straps and the advice
Great tool , one of the best you can put in your arsenal! Thanks so much John!!!

Thanks man!!
Hell yeah bro gonna try this method out this weekend 🤝🏽
If you have 2 guys on even bigger slides and one pulling and one pushing it’s a breeze
Awesome video like always, thank you! Do you think you could make a video showing all the different tools and supplies you need to get started? Like types of stakes, water hoses, straps, tarps, blowers, extension cords, etc. 🙏🏽
For sure!! I’ll get it on the list 😁
I made this a little while ago to kids help with that…

@@nick_o_glass Omg this is perfect!!!! Thank you!!!!
That the way that I do it ! 🙂👍🏼 before I used a 2500 motor winch, but that’s take longer, so now I do it for myself.
Yeah the winch takes so long man I’m the same too much of a rush haha
Duuuuuuude. I’ve got a degenerative disk disease in my back and this saved my LIFE. Thanks man!!
Oh man! That’s amazing to hear thank you for sharing!
I was thinking of doing this method but with somebody also pushing the slide. This will be my backup plan whenever my winch decides to fail. Great video 👍
Yeah on the 500lb+ slides that’s how we do it. So fast and easy plus super tight roll!
What's up Tony, I follow you on UA-cam also, lol
I bought this strap to roll my 18 foot slide, and its awesome.
I'm new and learn from you a lot.
Nick has great videos.
Bought an inflatable rolling machine in March, you have no idea what you’re missing. Best investment I made in this business
Used to use the winch on the Dolly, not anymore tho
Hey man, were did you get the rolling machine?
The one that pushes the roll?
I bought it a cliff creative games, the one with 10 wheels, you will trip out after the first time you use it
@@jermonecarter6027 ok I’ll check it out
Good idea!
Just went to your store and got some! Thanks for the help bro!
Thanks man!
Thanks for the free game entrepreneur 🏆✅💯📈 may your business and social media platforms continue to grow 🙏
Yep
I use a extension cord real to roll the straps onto. Keeps them neat and knot/tangle free.
Ooooo that’s a good idea!
Really nice roll 💯
Thanks professor!!
WOW IMPRESSIVE!!! 👏👏👏👏
Thanks nick
I’m just getting in the business. You have a new sub.
Yeah You Did That . ( The Jump Off ) I’m getting my Roll Offs Now
Skinny dude power!
im definitely gonna order some
Adding some more colors to the options too. The webbing isn’t always available though so color options are inconsistent as of now. I’ve got black, purple, orange, red!
Thank you!
Good 👍 job
it isnt about being skinny or how strong u are,.....its about stamina...this type of work requires alot of stamina
Just took care of my first customer with a huge slide.. my stamina was Soo bad.
Nice Bro 😎 See You All in Tennessee
great job. suggestion... When you get it all folded and nice and straight and you go to stake the rolling straps into the ground you can toss the back end of the inflatable with the blower tube up towards the front a few feet, this way you can get the wrap up tie downs down under the back end so when you get to the end or rolling you are all ready to go. Tuck in the last few feet and strap that baby down. keep up the hustle it will pay off.
Thank you!!! Yeah I do that 99% of the time but when I shoot for the YT video did I remember?? Hahahah nope
I have a similar unit to this one I hate renting it out but love the money. I use an electric winch to roll it up.
Good job
Hey man, thanks
Killing it brotha! 🔥🔥✊💪That’s a nice looking waterslide brotha! Who did you get your waterslide from? Loved the colors
Thanks JC! It’s from HEC-worldwide.com
Let’s gooooooo!!!!!!
I’m making shirts bro!
Cool video
Thx
I thought I was doing it wrong thanks 🙏🏿
Good vid.. lucky there is lots of grass. Here in Phoenix its mostly dirt / gravel
Kinda feel like that’s better lol. No mud. We have so much mushy grassy mud that we set up on driveways sometimes when it’s rained a bunch.
What’s up nick! Thanks for all the information you provide, quick question would you say there is a big difference in nylon pvc oz? I’ve been seeing some bouncers made with 15, or 18 any advice? Also where do you buy yours? Thanks man love the content!
Yes big diff! 18pz is the norm. There’s some rental lite units Tent and Table does with 15oz. It’s a quality product! Go watch my video “How to Buy your 1st Bounce House!
I want to start this business, i might just get those roll straps. That dolly is nice too.
TheJumpOffStore.com they’re a help!
@@nick_o_glasswhere can I purchase a dolly like the one you have?
Dude good 👍 job yeah I know that your in Louisiana it 🌧
Daily bro. Daily.
Purchased some of these recently. Similar journey man
Yep I remember shipping them to you!! Thanks for the orderFernando!!
Smart/ bro
Thx!
I just ordered a 19 footer dual lane wet slide for private use. I appreciate your tutorial. I had no idea rain could get in them though, how does it get into the slide? Through the velcro air vents while deflated when not in use?
Through the seams! Do not let your slide get rained on whilst deflated. Blow that thing up in rain!
@@nick_o_glass Thanks!
An easier method that I have found with the slides is when you are deflating stand in the middle of the slide and it will fall on top of you deleting the need to fold or pull
I don’t do that cause it makes the fold SUPER lumpy every time for me. I’ve tried it every way I can think of and it always makes it super hard to roll!
Hi my name is Chris I like your video
That is neat
do you have a video on how you patch/repair holes and rips?
No but I need one haha.
Great roll but i always pop back open when its wet to avoid mold and mildew. Interested in buyomg a set of straps.
Question, do you just store your units like that after you take it home? Or do you do more cleaning when you get home.
Straight to the warehouse like this for the water slides. They’re going back out in 7 days to get wrecked all over again! Combos and bouncers we blow up and clean (vacuum/wipe the inside)
Whats up brother? Thank you for your videos, which shoes are those?
Xtra tuff boots
HEY IDEA with your role up strap system. Could make a drill with an attachment full it up. Like your wench.
my gut says no because the straps will not roll cleanly!
Been in the business for over 6 year I use boating shoes in summer on all my waterside than you don't tear up your shoe and you don't need shocks
That’s a good idea!
Hey man what’s the best way you promote your rental inflatables? we have a few we just got a bubble tent and a big white bounce house 16x16 love any tips!
Google ads by 37 miles
Great info!
Are you based out of New Orleans?
I have a new bounce house concept launching out of Picayune.
Nope even closer! Covington,LA
Where did you buy the stakes!!?? please help i have bounce house and cant find any!
Have you thought about getting a portable pump to empty the pool part into the grass without having to get yourself wet? And then a battery operated wet/dry vac to get into the crevices to really get the last bit of water. Drain in the grass, good to go.
Harbor freight sells a transfer pump for about $150 for example, could be a good way to test it out.
Yep I have all that TOOOOOO SLOW. Love going fast. It’s a gift and a curse haha
That monster was heavy
Do you stake down your slides? If so, how do you with tarp underneath?
Send the stakes straight through the tarp with no remorse my man 😈 Tarp is there to prefect against the mud not be water tight so holes are nbd. We BERY rarely put them thru the old holes. New holes every time! Even when the tarp comes out the package at the clients house.
Nice video. Where did you get that dolly?
It’s from Rollsall.com!
The kid isn’t shy he’s mad lol
Who me?? 😂
@@nick_o_glass your worker lol
Oh yeah Dom is kinda shy like that
How do u deal with the competition? I'd like to start my business too but In my country there's a LOT of bounchouse rentals and idk if I should do it or not since I might not get bookings.
I DOMINATE them that’s how!! 💪🏼
No real talk the more bounce house businesses there is the better, means you can start and get a booking instantly. If you do a good job you’ll smoke everyone. Follow what I do and JUST GO
What dolly is that in the video? Any links to dolly? Thanks for sharing Nick!
Who makes this unit? Looks like good quality!
HEC-worldwide.com
Do you pull back the slide liner when sanitizing? I'm not sure if it will wear out the velcro
I dont
Nope. Only at the end of the year when we clean it for storage
Good ideas but a couple small items you need to watch out for....One is it safer to push verse pull. Two...walking on your inflatable digging into it to get traction not the best idea over time. The strap method has been around a long time and using the winch is awesome but not walking on it.
Thanks Nat? What do you mean it’s safer? And disagree on the walking, we do that 100% of the time whenever we roll an inflatable to deflate and flatten.
Hey bro why don't you let the top of the slide drop forward instead of backwards? It will save you some time trying to fix and straighten the back.
Also I don't like over lapping the sides on top of eachother so the roll don't turn to fat. That's just what I do, i know everyone has their own way.
I also use straps like u did and it does help alot!
Awesome video, thanks for all the info!!
Thanks man! So when I flip the back over by standing on the slide it’s faster but the slide bunches up and the fold gets HUGE. When I do not like in the video I get that fold nice and compact. Not sure why but it’s 100% of the time both ways.
@@nick_o_glass I see! Maybe it helps spread out the vinyl better. I did notice the hump by the stairs is not as big. So your technique might be better. I honestly haven't tried that way yet but I'm going to try it this week!
@@ignacioosorio1025 yep I tested it on a 17ft slide and was shocked how small the fold was and I switched to it on every slide even the little 12ft ones! Let me know how it goes for you!
Man your vids are money man! I know you said you clean water slides on site but the water on the bottom of that slide that is all over the tarp when rolling so you have to dry off later at warehouse? Or does it dry up by itself?
Thx! We roll wet and store wet in the summer. In Sept they all get blown up, dried, out, cleaned etc.
Thank you!!
Sup brother? U remind me of me lol! I do very similar techniques with my jumper business! I'm a 1 man bam where I live, occasionally I have a kid help me, he's 16, but I mostly work alone, I'm in California n enjoy watching your videos. Hit me up!
What’s up Roberto!! That’s bad ass man thanks! Yeah I’ve got 4 guys that work for me part time and 2 more that we can add in on crazy busy times.
When is a good time to clean the unit? I have a storage unit so should I take it home and clean it before putting it up? I know it’s not a good idea to clean it at customers house during pick up lol
Both work but cleaning at your house is what I suggest 👌🏼
Where can i purchase that dolly my boys need one of those they started there waterslide business and its going great so far but they really need one of those
Rollsall.com
Do you need to dry the bottom as you roll it up? Where I use so much time.
Nope. It’s going out next weekend no biggie.
Pro tip have someone pull the back zipper while you hold the net and pull in down and forward takes out 99 percent of the work he is showing
Nope! Makes the roll lumpy and harder to deal with. My way is the right way for me.
How do you stake the unit down with the tarp over hanging?
Thru the tarp no remorse no second guessing
What if the slide is on turf and you can’t stake it down. Will it still work?
Yeah turf will be less slippery so it should but you can just tie to the dolly that why we do for concrete
Great video, where can i buy that blue dolly.
Thank you man!! The dolly is Rollsall it’s a beast dude. Go to rollsall.com and you can see options and order, tell Tommy Nick from the Jump Off sent you 😁

How can I purchase the the roll off straps? Please send me link?
Is it possible to use this method for a 300ft slide? We just rolled up two by pushing and nobody would listen to me about this suggestion. A winch or a truck substituting for man power of course.
This slide is 305lbs. My newest video I did it alone with 479lb dual lane. We do this with big stuff a lot.
