Nick quit his 16 year "career" as as a District Manager for Journeys shoes in August 2019, and while he worked to scale The Jump Off, he drove uber, sold trash that he found on the side of the road, and picked up as many odd jobs (like building swing sets) as he could.
Then in late 2019, Nick hit "The Bounce House lottery" (originleadersh...) and when the pandemic shut everything down in 2020, he sprung into action and took that moment to make The Jump Off what it is today!

I coach club soccer as my main source of income. My mother in-law suggested this business as a side gig. She did well with it when she was younger. Thanks for the info!
As an inflatable rental startup owner, this video was wildly helpful. Thank you for offering this up for those looking to get into the business. Very grateful!
You bet man!!
We are thinking of starting up a business and you have helped immensely, thank you!
Yes! Do it. Glad I could help 😎
i do photo booth and laser etching part time, not really interested in bounce houses currently but this video makes me want to start. keep it up
You should 😎
Best fucking video on the business for beginners bro. I see this video blowing up and long running
Thanks Gerry!!would be humbled if it did, but I just love to teach!
Love the info I made the move last year we bought a inflatable company with 30 units lots of work 👍🏽
That’s awesome! Yes it’s a ton of work for sure BUT that’s why I love it ❤️
I'm in the Bahamas and thinking of starting a BH business. Been watching videos for weeks... yours is the best I've seen.
Thank you!
I have to say that we love Jungle Jumps products. We bought three of them brand new when we started our business 5 years ago and minus the yellow getting dirty they look almost brand new. Our obstacle course has gone out 97 times in the last 4-1/2 years and we just ordered the new slide cover this year. All the other ones Nick listed I have heard good things!!!! We also have Magic Jump and Cutting Edge!!
Awesome! I love magic jump too
Nick you’re great brother! 👍🏽 When I get my bounce house business up & running I’ll be sure to give my shout outs to you. My virtual business mentor 🤙🏽
Damn thans Josh!! Appreciate that, More stuff coming!
@@nick_o_glass looking forward to them!
Nick!!
My husband and I were just discussing the possibility of a side hustle Bounce House Business!! We are nearing retirement...you gave great info! I took lots of 📝 notes. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Hey Nick, can we get a video on how to price these bounce houses from you? you're a very credible, and realistic source for this. would LOVE a video on how you do it. Doesn't have to be exact to your market but I'm having issues trying to come up with numbers to make a business model and plan of execution.
Sure! I’ll get it on the list of videos to make.
Liked and subscribed cause I want no beef with Austin 🤷🏾♀️
BOSTON…but good he said you’re cool now sleep soundly tonight for there is no beef here.
Great video brother!!! We appreciate you dropping these gems 💎
Thanks Brandon!! You bet man. More coming, hopefully diving deep into the Diamond mine 💎!!
I’m starting my business and I really appreciate it this is good information and we will be in touch if I have more questions!
I use Jump Orange and MoonWalk USA. With moonwalk do not use the financing option it is an equipment lease.
You gave us a wealth of knowledge my friend. I took notes. Thank you!
Started my own business few years ago things aregoing good..leaning towards bh biz soon as second biz. AWESOME VIDEO..KEEP'EM COMING👏👐👍
It’s a great business. Tons of opportunities if you run it like a real business!

Bought a waterslide from spacewalks used couple days ago for my kids didn't realize how big it was untill I showed up. Well now I have one. An people are asking to rent it from me. Thanks for the Info. I may consider giving it a shot. An I deff need a dolly the water slide has to be about 350lbs at least
Love it. Good luck!
Just bought a Ninja Jump, very very well made!
Yeah ninja jump is an incredible company!
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing and important information with us. I really appreciate it.I’m here because I want to start a bounce house business, but I don’t know where to start, and I’ve always been afraid, the only thing I know it’s that the only one that stops me is myself :( as a single mom I want to spend more time with my daughter, be my own boss, make what I always dreamed of.
Once again thanks a lot.
Yep starting a business isn’t easy and you know that! But when the dread of another day the corporate world starts to outweigh the safety net it brings, you’ll go!
Can you tell me about what kind insurance I should have or can I just do a waiver ? In my state we don't have to have a business license because we aren't selling anything just renting but we do still pay taxes.
General liability is a MUST. It’s $5000/year until you’re doing over $50k in revenue then it’ll start to go up.
You have to charge tax on rentals, and then you just turn around and give that to the state and the county
Dude you have the best bounce house company when I'm big I'm buying a bounce house and I'm gonna have mu own. Company
Your videos have honestly been the most helpful. I'm located in Hawaii and things are about to get real bouncy here 😂
Freaking love it
I'm seriously considering a BH business. Been selling cars for 25 years and have been a GM of a used car lot past 2.5 years. Like to get in to this business! Thanks for the info Nick!
Yep get into this and outta sales man. You’ll be a lot happier (assuming a lot there but….)
Thank you so much this will help a lot I'm starting this business for my 5 year old son.🇿🇦
You bet!!
This is kind of an off topic question... But when you drop off your unit at a renter's party or whatever.... Can you leave it unattended until the end of their party? Or do you have to be there or have an employee there the whole time?
Thank you very informative vid and right to the point,. I have the confidence to start a Bounce house business because of you....
You can do it! ✊🏼
Keep these videos coming bro starting my biz soon!!
No worries more to come! Good luck bro, this biz is a lot of fun!
This is super helpful. Time saving. Thank you for the info. Looking forward to more of your videos .
Yes you bet!!
Thank you for blessing us with another great video 🙏🏻😭
You bet Addison!!
China also has cheap and high-quality inflatable inflatable factories, mainly depending on the size and qualifications of this factory. We are a good quality factory, you can find us if you need it.
Thank you I’m good, I only buy from US manufacturers
@@nick_o_glass What you don’t know is that American manufacturers also purchase from us
Thanks!

It’s all I know!!
THANK YOU!
All of your tips are very very helpful.
Thank you for being so transparent
You bet! I out here to help ppl 😁
Loving your videos! Should we be worried if it seems like there are already a few / several companies (or individuals) around us that are doing this kind of thing? Or should we “just go” and do it anyway, hoping to beat them in prices etc as you mentioned?
What’s up Valerie! So this seems counter-intuitive but it’s the truth, the more people doing it the better. No one goes into business to fail, so success of others means it’s doable. There’s so much business to be and you’ll make it just fine. Follow what I teach, ESPECIALLY the customer service and marketing stuff and you’ll grow fast and be the favorite in a year or two 😁
Dope video brother! good info! I like EZ Inflatables and also Bouncing Angels in Cali. Got the sledge and hammer along with cords and reels from Harbor Freight &Home Depot. I also highly recommend using Inflatable Office for website and bookings. Thx again for sharing!!
Inflatable office is the best! I’m actually sponsored by them!
Best video about this business for beginners!! Thanks buddy! I live in California and I started my jumper waterslide business 2months ago. Have you heard of Any Good places in California that make units like yours that you can possibly recommend?
Whats up Amaury! Welcome to the business. Yes EZinflatables.com is my fav and they're in southern cal, and then magic jump, ninja jump, corona bounce all are there too and a great quality! Tell them I sent you
I'm loving ❤️ your 📹 and setting bounce houses I saw you in a video in a bounce house 🏠 😀 good job I like your videos
Another awesome video with invaluable information! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the kind words!
Love your videos, super informative! I’m a single mom trying to start in the business with my son. We’re currently searching for our 1st bounce house (used) but everyone is still asking about about $2k or more 😩😭
Yeah the bounce house market looks a lot like the housing market. INFLATED (pun intended…double pun I think!?)

Would you recommend a trailer with a ramp right from the get? And if so, what kind of a dolly/hand truck would you recommend aside from something mechanical for budget purposes?
Ramp yes! Get a loan for a rollsall. Cant even stress it enough.
Good job nick 👏
Feels like everyone I meet doing Bounce houses is here in Louisiana.. that's kinda crazy lol
They were invented in New Orleans in the 60s that’s why they’re so popular. All the adults here grew up with them at thier parties
Great content!
Thank you!
Great video. Lots of info. I’ve been doing my homework for a few months now haha so naming all those company’s , on my laptop i have so many windows open of different inflatables from them.
I was fighting myself in between hec and corona and finally chose corona, but hec is in my state so if all goes well I may try them n just pick it up.
I have some tarps some stakes. And a dolly from harbor freight. So just need extensions and water hose. Some cleaning supplies and I’m ready !
HEC is the best man. Hands down. But the margin between them and the other bigs is small
This is all the stuff I use! originleadership.com/bounce-house-business-starter-kit/
Very helpful thankx
Hi Nick! Just watched a few of your videos and I’m really glad you mentioned how big the water slides can be. What kind of space do you need to clean big units? Im living in an apartment right now, do you have any recommendations on how to get started with big units?
What’s up Brenda!! Just clean them at pick up. That’s actually what we do with “all” waterslides. Watch my “how to roll an 18ft waterslide…” video you’ll see what I mean.
Also…I’ve got a Discord community that I built for bounce house entrepreneurs! New operators can ask questions and experienced operators can offer advice! It’s like FB groups with out the drama 😎 discord.gg/PErSXSBt
New discord link? The one posted is expired 👀
You could have said “let’s get jumping” lol instead of let’s get rolling
Ahhh yep! Missed opportunity haha
Hi Nick, I watched several of your videos and appreciate the good info! I’m sure you’ve covered it somewhere but I got a question… a guy wanting to rent a slide and his entire yards covered in number 57 stone can you put down enough tarps or do you have any ideas? How we would do that or is it just not possible?
I’d just do it I think. Many wouldn’t. Flip a coin!!
Thanks, Nick.
Anytime Marshall!
I got a question where can people find me that am renting bounce houses ?
“The Jump Off” is a great name!!! Would he sue if I stole it?!🤔😅
Thank you!!! And yes. 🫡
I noticed that in one of your newer videos (pros and cons one) some of the newer information that you mention regarding buying new and the number of units to start out with has changed. Would you suggest that newer video or is this one a better guide for someone just getting started?
Yeah definitely!
I’d like to see a video on contracts and cancellation policy
For sure! Added it to the list of videos to make! I've got a blank contract you can DL in my Starter Kit Checklist! originleadership.com/bounce-house-business-starter-kit/
How or where do you get your inflatable inspection
The state. We don’t have them in Louisiana. Ohio does, PA does, NJ does.
What are the top 3 brands of inflatable bounce houses you recommend?
HEC Worldwide, EZ Inflatables, Tent and Table
Blessings and thank you for the dope knowledge. Super helpful as I launch. Question, I purchased a couple used units and was curious as to how to get the slides to be much more slippery (dry use)? If there is a non-chemical option, that would be great. Again, thank you for being a good human!
I'm wondering if the ceramic coating that they use on cars paint would be OK to use on that. It's very slippery and very durable. With water running it might even be too slippery.
Slide slick! And your very welcome!
Thanks buddy. Currently I am a middle school teacher so I’m looking into this as a side hustle and a way out 😂. No access to a trailer but I own a pickup truck. I also love your advice about starting with a used bounce house.
Right on man! My mom taught middle school for 20 years and retired early out of the blue cause she couldn’t do it another damn day. Follow my advice you can get out in a year if you’re aggressive, 2 if you take it slower.
Hey Nick. Love your videos. I was wondering how long a blower will go for? Do they overheat after so long? Also if a client wants to pull the plug on the house before you get there to take it down, is that ok? Or if a client has a two day weekend rental and they want to turn the blower off overnight and then blow it up again the next day on their own, how do you handle those kind of situations? Thank you so much!
You can turn the blower on and off without a problem
Nope and yep!
I am eager to know why you don't buy from China?
Will inflatables insurance cover bounce houses that were used before if their commercial? Or do we have to buy them brand new in order to be able to get them insured?
You’re fine!
Would you purchase a used bounce house with a patch? Jump Orange Combo slide blows up firm for $1900? What are your thoughts about patches? Thank you!
yep!
Those combo bounce slides are small jump areas and the slide is small. Are y
Ok…
nice job. thanks

I felt like my mans was taking about me 😂
That’s a huge compliment. Thank you!! ✊🏼
6:00 wow…. She’s a keeper
She’s super hot too 🥹
Anyone hear of big top inflatables?
They’re just a reseller of moonwalk USA and moonwalk sucks. Buy from someone else. JumpOrange, Sunnfun, big and bright, magic jump are some of my favs.
Check jumporange.com?bg_ref=2eH45j3115 and magicjump.com/nickspicks
Thank you thank you thank YOUUUUUUUU
Haha you bet Mo!! Good luck.
Once I have my first bounce house, how do I go about getting it rented? I was thinking about creating a website, but would anyone rent my bounce house if I only had one option?
Inflatable office!!! It’s free under 10 units. Then you need to market it, that’s a diff video that I made. Get a demo of inflatable office here rental.software/?ref=nick
Great video I have been wanting to do this for a while. Quick question here in my area there seems to be a great deal of others doing this. Do you recommend to do this even if there is a lot of competition? And how do you determine prices? Do you got the same rate as the others or less ?
Do it!! Just go. And here’s the secret…you have it backwards. A lot of people renting means there’s a heathy ass market for you to jump straight into. No one doing it means no one knows/thinks about it. You can buy a unit and have it renting next weekend on FM marketplace. Go low at first, do a better job, as you grow raise your prices and DESTROY EVERYONE! 😎
What age range should someone look for when buying a used unit
Condition is more important than age. We have 3 units from….2010!! They’re in immaculate too. Bought used.
Great fact. Don’t waste the money on magic erasers. Just buy melamine sponge in bulk. That all they are
That’s what I do. It’s linked in my starter kit nickglassett.com/bounce-house-business-starter-kit/
Your the best
Hey Boston i subscribed so dont punch me in the face bro 👍
Yes!!!
My company buys all of our combos from e inflatables
Yeah I had an E Inflatables unit actually. Great quality! I sold it because it was heavy AF dude. The non-slip bounce house was hard to clean too.
@@nick_o_glass yea they are very heavy I will agree but the quality is in matched in my opinion. All of our moonwalks are from ninja jumps and n inflatables.
@@ryangraham665 nice dude good info to have!! I appreciate the input 😁
This video is super helpful so thank you!!!!. From your experience, what rents more- 18 ft water slides or 22 ft slides?
You’re very welcome! It kind of depends, I’ve had the bigger slides do better, but last year my best slide by a mile was an 18 footer. 18 foot slides are way easier to deliver and pick up for what it’s worth
@@nick_o_glass Thank you so much! We decided to go with an 18ft because of set up since it’s just my husband and I. Do people seem to enjoy the water slides with a curve at the end or with the deep pool. I am torn between two slides that look awesome but not sure which ones kids enjoy more. Do you have any insight on this?
@@jenniferlynn4265 good choice. Both will rent well, between the 2 the preferred feature is the deep pool. No one ever calls and asks for a curved slide, but everyone loves them. People ask specifically for a deep pool all the time!
@@nick_o_glass awesome! Thanks so much for your help. Because of this video, we purchased our first three inflatables off fb market leaving us enough to purchase a new water slide. We would have never thought of fb market to help us get our business going. Your videos are super helpful😊
@@jenniferlynn4265 man I love getting messages like this so much. Bad ass Jennifer you guys are going to do awesome! Rooting for you so hard!
