One really beneficial thing that scares many growers is root pruning. Every time I repot a plant, I examine the roots system, and if needed, I prune the roots, especially if it's potbound. Just like pruning the branches, pruning the roots makes them branch and makes them more efficient in absorbing nutrients from the soil.
Wow! My dad had a huge one on our front porch around that time, 4ft or something wild and someone stole it, pot and all. We could not believe it. Thankfully she had given many cutting babies by then!
I bought a tradescentia zebrina in the spring of 2023 and over the next few months almost killed it (too little light, pot too big, too much water). I managed to save a few cuttings and propagated them. Now, in the summer of 24, the pot of survivors is thriving and every 10 days or so i cut the longest stems off and put them straight back into the soil. The plant gets bushier every day.

Low and behold, what did I find this morning? 4 new sprouting leaf pairs! I was flabbergasted! Plants do indeed want to grow :D
