I'm especially proud of Nixxie's actor. Not only does she alter her voice for the role, she adds a heavy lisp which could have been disastrous, but it was really good :)
It's also particularly applicable here because Gygax used the term milieu for what would now be called the campaign setting when he wrote the AD&D DMG.
I can't stop thinking about this song. It's absolutely brilliant. Not only is the song a hit, but it does such a good job introducing the party, and it also cleverly weaves in the premise of 1 for All as a whole. This may be the Season 3 opener but it feels like it's truly THE anthem for this channel. I keep coming back to see it again and again. Well done!

This series has progressed by leaps and bounds and now with some additional funding it's realizing it's full potential. This is one of the best DnD-related pieces of media I've seen in years!
Antrius: "And Nixxie says concerning things." *1 minute later* Nixxie: "Screams can sound almost like applause." Yep, concerning is definitely an understatement.
Well, if it fits to the character she play, then a little bit of mental instability here and there could be counted as "good roleplaying", instead of being a a problem. I had once a dark elf Gunslinger (a subclass of the fighter), who has a pirate background, and some problem with drinking... That was the reason, why get stuck on the land, after his crew once needed to go in a hurry, while he was lying uncoscous in some tavern... I get a unique "feat" from our Dungeon Master for that: he get named "Alcoholic", given resistence any alcohol based poison or just hard liquor (he build up some tolerance towards them through the years), he he get disadvantage in dexterity, intelligence and wisdom checks, if he doesn't consumed the required amount of alcohol in the last 8 hours, thanks to the withdrawal symptoms. It was a part of the character, used both for comic relief reasons, and sometimes it was helpful in other situations too. (As an alcoholic, i always bring some bewerage with me in bottles, and when we needed to go into a tight cave, and our claustrophobic priest - obviously - didn't want to follow us, i had my "liquid courage" with me, to gave him enough bravery to defeat it's fear, and we were able to kill the monster in there. The problem was when he get sober up, and i had not enough drink to both satisfy my own thirstyness and get him drunk again, so our resident barbarian had to knock him out, to bring him back (the big cavern room was more acceptable to him, than the fissure itself, for what we needed to pass through to reach the outside, so he would stay there, if we let him).
I mean as a DM with 27 years experience, Nixxie doesn't say anything I would call concerning. However one should take into account I've had a Druid at my table who talked about how good people tasted raw after putting the fear of bear in them, a necromancer who wrote their spellbooks on freshly peeled elf skin and would ask about every elf's skincare and quality, and worst of all the Barbarian with a genius intelligence who could do math, write a thesis, and raged because they didn't get into their wizard college of choice.

1:28 in Antrius' defense, he tried using it on himself in the "Rules as Writen" episode, 2nd season. He just wasn't allowed because Bards can't Inspire themselves.
IIRC, a College of Swords bard uses their bardic inspiration to fuel their special abilities. Not the same thing as inspiring yourself, but boosting your own AC for a round has saved my groups bard more than once.
@@MonkeyJedi99 Actually, this is from College of Valor, not Swords. But you are correct. The point is: They do get Combat Inspiration, although I highly doubt Antrius is a college of valor bard, he actually just sang his way out of troubles while the party defeated everyone. But it indeed was an epic song!
Also, College of Lore gains Peerless Skill at 14 which allows them to use a Bardic die on themselves, although only for ability checks, not attack rolls or saves.
That "My mockery is vicious.". Got me chuckling and then turned into full blown evil overlord laugh I had to pause the video. Goddamn this song is moving into my most treasured playlist.
this is RIGHT BEHIND "Toss a coin to your witcher", if not at the same level. You'll always come through with a natural twenty lalalaaaa... won't stop singing it for days. (And Nixie's final outfit was outstanding).

This is probably the best all-in-one episode ever...
Also... 4:36 - Did anyone know that Nixie could sing, like really well?
And through those Tiefling teeth props.
I love how nixie sings “ready to face all the foes in our way”

it's milieu

It's also particularly applicable here because Gygax used the term milieu for what would now be called the campaign setting when he wrote the AD&D DMG.

"We're half elf, pink and the bard."
That was quite magnificent, the song, the video and that lyric in particular.
*I love how Antrius' race is Bard.*
@@BelegaerTheGreat that means Nixxie's race is pink 😆
@@BelegaerTheGreat wait, I didn't even notice that. I was to preoccupied with Nixie's race being pink.
The line doesn't really make sense
It's a reference to the theme song for the 90s cartoon "Pinkie and the Brain."
This song got a natural 20 and charmed me
This song has you rolling your wisdom saving throw with disadvantage.
When the dying guard said "I see a light" I fully expected that he'll be hit by one of Nixie's fireballs within the next few seconds
And kill Antrius in the process?
I can't stop thinking about this song. It's absolutely brilliant. Not only is the song a hit, but it does such a good job introducing the party, and it also cleverly weaves in the premise of 1 for All as a whole. This may be the Season 3 opener but it feels like it's truly THE anthem for this channel. I keep coming back to see it again and again. Well done!
I know, right
I come back to this video at least once a week, it is insanely good
yess, especially while prepping the next session, to get into the mood.
@@mortadelladelamorte8515 Nice! If I were ever to play a Bard in the future, I'm definitely watching this before each session to get in the mood too.

Glad I am not the only one addicted to this song! This has become my new "pick me up when I'm down" song! I cannot thank the cast and crew enough!
"I didn't think I'd have this much on my face outside of an onlyfans". I just got done being impressed by the song and here comes Kendall to remind me it isn't over til it's over.
There's no greater power than a bard's inspirational singing and undying will to f#ck his way out of everything.
Why is nobody talking about how Nixie's accompaniment nearly steals the show?
i need more of it lol
I totally love her voice let's start a cult about her
I was just about to mention it - gave me chills!
I do love me some Nixie.
I do believe that singing Nixie is voiced by a different person than the one playing her. For the song it says performed by Thomas Taufan, Eva Devore, Alessia Medina and Kendall Drury. But Nixie is played by Nicole/Fallcosplay
Hey, look everybody!
Atrius finally took a level in Bard!
"We're products of our milieu. We're sexy, but we'll kill you."
Easily the most accurate part of the song
That was my favourite line!!!

As someone who is an irl Barbarian thank you showing me the word "milieu" so that I could look it up and understand with smol brain.
Just this last week my dad ended up in the Emergency Room with a serious heart condition . I sat in that room trying hard not to panic, and watched his vital signs fluctuate for 11 hours . Just that day, I had downloaded a play list of "fun songs." One of them was this video. I play it at least once each hour, and it really helped me hold on to my hope. Thank you all so much for this. I love the video on technical, acting, and as a RPGer grounds, but it will always hold a special place for the hope it gave me! Keep doing these great videos!

This series has progressed by leaps and bounds and now with some additional funding it's realizing it's full potential. This is one of the best DnD-related pieces of media I've seen in years!
“I will not die until I’ve laughed. I won’t deny the world my shaft.” Possibly one of the most perfectly fitting double-entendres I have ever heard.
Antrius: "And Nixxie says concerning things."
*1 minute later*
Nixxie: "Screams can sound almost like applause."
Yep, concerning is definitely an understatement.
This has to be the best comment of all the comments section.

My favorite line "My mockery is vicious"
Great call back to the earlier video!
Made even better by the boop
@@ProfBrunoClemente Thanks for the correction. I don't (yet) play a bard.
