Honeslty, I love Magi and I used to be SO obsessed with it. It just gave you those amazing arabian vibes. It told such a beautiful and creative story.
It literally must be the most underrated anime
Nah banana fish
I rewatched a good 100 times and rewatching today
@@rorororororo9775 it is
Underrated is subjective
EXAMPLE :
Like how Jojo used to be underrated and recently skyrocketed in popularity
no, its just above average.
I actually liked the manga a little bit more... but Magi was one of the BEST anime I’ve seen though >w< I would’ve really liked it if it had a 3rd season, but that’s not gonna happen....
Let’s have hope for s3
Your whole comment is so accurate
I what to see how they deal with the slave arc
i LOVEE magi
Selina Boeddha same
It's amazing
Way too underrated
I'm liked the Arabian setting, it was a nice breath of fresh air. But sadly was very black and white as far as the villains and heroes motivations
it was pretty obvious that it wasn't meant to motivate like most other shounen. Its for an older demographic so you need to be mature to like it. And the villains get a lot better in the manga and havee more character development
Jonathan Fisher nice profil pic shoto
@@pranava2998 not really
Ryan Stadler No, he’s right. As a manga reader,I agree with him.
Jai the Gemini you were not paying very close attention
I loved some of the soundtrack. Really sold the Arabian motif.
I just found out that Judal's English voice actor is the same person who voice acts Natsu from Fairy Tail. I was wondering why they sounded so similar.
Known Khaos English dub was literally not handleable to me
It's also the same as death the kids from soul eater
:o
English dub was so baaad
Do you like Magi the Labyrinth/Kingdom of magic? Do you ever find yourself thinking, "Wow, I love Magi, I wish there was more for me to watch!" Oh Boi! Do I have the show for you may I present Magi: The Adventures of Sinbad!!
But seriously if you find yourself in any other situation don't watch Sinbad its just keeping the ball rolling for fans rather than anything else, and since I am a fan I really enjoyed it.
Please don’t watch Sinbad no Bouken. It’s so short and doesn’t even cover much of the manga. It’s a prequel made to watch after the event of Magi.
@@trainerjack2561 adventures of sinbad’s anime ends right before the manga starts to get amazing.
When u try to think hard in how good the anime was it will lower the quality, enjoying it without too much thought is the best way to enjoy the anime
loading . . . That’s why I didn’t watch the intros ... sometimes you can’t watch an anime intro it spoils everything lol
I loved Hakuryuu's breakdown though it made me laugh
"And seduces the enemy in order to reach his goal which is honestly a perfectly noble one"
Manga reader: *PANIC*
Well to be fair his motives were noble until he was controlled by the black rukh sorceress and David
@@RBF__ sinbad and David were more like roommates that disagreed a lot
Grex, I respectfully disagree with you. I personally loved Magi and I understand many of the points you’re making such as poor villains and being rushed, but I really wished that you included the manga and spoilers in this video. If you read the manga, it ends well and there is much more character depth. Magi is my all time favorite show so I might be biased, but your point about the show being unfinished is completely unjustified. Anime are usually just ads for the manga unless it ends up being really popular (Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tail, etc.). Also, many of your criticisms on Sinbad no Bouken are also unjustified. The manga has 144+ chapters while the studio being less known, was only able to pump out 13. One final part that I disagree with is your negative view of dungeon capturing. Dungeon capturing was essentially the basis of the show until the politics showed up. The whole point of dungeons was to give weak people with good hearts the power to “change the world” which is exactly what Sinbad, Alibaba, and the other Capturers did. The video game esque setup was also a poor argument because how else would they structure it. It’s action and puzzles. Lots of games have that style, and that style is not attributed only to video games. You can have your opinion and I can have mine, but you left out a lot by only including the animated parts.
How is A1 pictures unpopular
@@aaronsg8931 a1 didnt do the sinbad adaption
I know you commented a long time ago but I would like to ask if you atleast agree that making Aladdin such a pervert didn't make any sense because he is supposed to be wholesome.
@@Teafairy I think that’s just a result of Japanese humor being different than western humor, I get your point and that wouldn’t fly in an American cartoon, but if you understand Japanese humor it was kind of funny how a shota was a pervert. Kind of tropey but whatever
Dungeon capturing is a huge part of the politics. And they really get into politics later in the manga much more than the anime
If you finish reading the manga, you'll see that the only black and white charcater in Magi is Alladin himself. By the end both Hakuyuruu, Judar and Sinbad show themselves to be in the grey area of good and evil. The flasback arc in the end of the series is full of dialogue and political themes which are tough to sell to a shounen demographic. The ending itself is fairly rushed, but I still enjoied and it gave the characters a satisfying ending. It's a good read.
FINALLY!! SOMEONE IM SUBSCRIBED TO FINALLY REVIEWS MAGI!!!
I do have to say, magi is underrated and only gets better. Please read the manga and do either a history of magi world or magic system video @grex
kendel roten It really doesn’t, it actually gets worst (at least in the manga) until the end (which is supremely rushed like Arslan Senki)
@@trainerjack2561 have you read the kou empire and alma Torran arcs?
S1 is a 6 or 7 imo.
S2 is a 8 or 9.
Cant stand shounen tropes, was still enthralled for some reason.

What order is the season
Chicken Grease labyrinth of magic
Kingdom of magic
Adventures of Sinbad
Chicken Grease Adventures of Sinbad, Kingdom of Magic, Labyrinth of Magic
@@pranava2998 the two arcs leading up to the final arc were the peak of the manga. The final arc was as good as season two of the anime. The adventures of sinbad manga just keep getting better and better every after the chapter 55(where the anime ends, you can start reading from after that).
Alguém sabe quem faz rewiews de Magi: the labirynt of magic??? Queria muito que alguém fizesse. Eu gosto desse anime.
So, in which order should I watch these series? I have heard about both "the kingdom of magic", "the labyrinth of magic", and "the adventures of sinbad".
Jǫrmungandr magi as 2 season ,the first is labyrinth of magic and 2 is kingdom of magic, the adventures os sinbad is a spin off,so starts with season 1
Adventures of Sinbad says his life story so it's best to watch that first if you want to understand how he became who he is
kinganghdhr a no, Sinbad isn’t the main character. Learn who Sinbad is then you can know about his past because he doesn’t show up for the first 10 ep.
I'll The anime "Magi" A+, because its just too good for me😏
Can you do a review of to aru kagaku no railgun and railgun S ?
I've only found three "Magi" reviews on UA-cam, including this one; and none of them give the show all the credit it deserves.
😹
First season = 7
Second season= 9 or 10
what is first season name can you tell me plz
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.... Pretty sure you found that out by now but I rate the first season a 8.5 and the second a 9
I just want a new season😖😖😞😞😞
I absolutely loved magi

This is my favorite anime
I started watching adventures of sinbad and now I’ve jumped down the rabbit hole of “magi” watching everything in the magi universe
So season 1 is sloppy but season 2 is awesome. Got it.
Not really , season 1 is awesome as well , they only conquer 2 dungeons , the reviewer is exaggerating
Any one not talking about the second part of the magi series? There sinbad then the one he talked about then there is another one just look up magi watch order
Im so glad someone can objectively see that while Magi is above average its no masterpiece or hidden wonder.
i loved the music. i haven't listened to the song in the vid in a while. forgot it. but i always listen to first and second openings and and one of the endings. the one by supercell. bravery. those songs are on my phone.
I want a season 3

Season two for adventures of sinbad will be very much appreciated
Waaah there Is Magi The Labyrinth of magic And then Magi The Kingdom of Magic And I watched the First One But then I watched the other one They had Nothing to do with eachother And There Is no season 2 i can find can Someone help me?
You can watch season 2 if you download anime lab on your app store.

I think its labrynth then king
But If u like you can do sinbad first
Labyrinth of Magic -> Kingdom if Magic -> Sinbad no Bouken (It’s a prequel but you’ll understand it and enjoy it more if you watch it last)
THE BEST ANIME INTRO EVVEERR
can anyone tell me whitch one watich it ferst
Watch labyrinth of magic first then watch kingdom of magic :)
You have already reviewed the one I wanted the most, that being Rokka no Yuusha, so I'm more courios what exactly you're taste is genre/story/setting wise.
My genre taste is pretty broad, and I've been known to greatly enjoy series from all walks of anime, but I have a preference for sci-fi/fantasy, as well as non-episodic, plot-driven narratives (though there have been some very strong exceptions to that rule, like Mushishi).
I tend to not feel so strongly for shows that rely heavily on themes and symbolism to overcome detriments of the surface-level story. I've had difficulty parsing subtext since 8th grade English class, it's just how my mind works. I'm too literal.
sinbaddddd the first class singularity
I agree with everything you said! Also I wanted to add that it makes no sense why Aladdin would just touch all the women without consent because he is supposed to be sooo wholesome also I feel like there are moments where there are scenses where they have this cartonish style making fun of everthing which are much to long. Through both seasons I wondered the whole time how they would mange to finish the plot linie with only a few episodes left and they ended up doing that by rushing it like you said.
Magi may not be the greatest show ever, but I really enjoy the political aspect of it. It really interested me, haha!
Please review the English Dub of Ghost Stories, the dubbing is a completely new script from the sub and it was reworked to be a comedy. It's basically an abridged series with professional voice actors and money behind it.
sorry, I can't agree with anything of your assessment except for the most basic criticisms that you're probably right about, like pacing, moral simplicity of villains, and of course being unfinished. I guess magi just had too strong of an effect on me. I adore the trio of aladdin morgiana and alibaba. I love watching them at basically any point in the show, and there's such a positive outlook on the world-people can change things for the better even when it seems impossible. plus some great action and really intense moments between fights and the mild levels of politics that make the characters have to figure out how to solve the current problem.
Simbad carried this show
Magi is great 💜💜💜
I don’t know what happened to the author, but the Final Arc was so rushed...
The author is making a new manga now.
Eli Kayle Just started reading it. It was a “Meh” so far. The writing quality seems low.

you better watch it because its a lotbetter than he says it
is
ScarSPedyyy well different people has different opinions like how I only liked fairy tails first few dozen episodes and hated the rest of the series well my Friend loved it
This show had so much potential with the characters and setting but they unfortunately messed up big time for so many reasons, and that’s clearly why we didn’t get a third season, it’s really sad to be honest.
NABz Lasted how so
The pacing of the story and what they focused on, they should have had some politics yes and focus more on the mysterious part of the show like the magi and djinn equips, I know they do but I would like them to and I really wanted them to focus on the 8 generals and the fighting with the djinn equips because that shit could have been way more badass then all they gave it
Actually that’s not why. No one wants to animate a manga that go good -> great -> ok -> bad -> bad -> rushed ending. The plot twists at the end are so overwhelming in a bad way.
please review ao no exorcist/blue exorcist anime. I really want to hear what you have to say about this anime ^_^
Magi is like bleach only less bullshit towards the end. But it sadly lost a lot steam from what I seen.
I'm subscribing, I liked the video and think you deserve more subscribers
Thanks!
its no where close to being as good as hunterxhunter but that doesn't change the fact that it's still AT LEAST an a-
Pranav A the manga of magi was wayyy better , the anime adaptation didnt do justice!
Not gonna crucify you, because you said it was overrated but not that it was bad, and not everyone enjoys a show even if it's extremely good for those who enjoy it (I think we all know a show that's absolutely adored by many people that we don't like. For me that show is Fullmetal Alchemist, I watched 20 episodes of it and was completely bored out of my mind watching it despite giving it well past my usual 7 episode test
Magi is nowhere near being as great as HxH, Naruto or My hero Academia, but it still sticks to the plot instead or other stuff.
Eli Kayle It’s a good as BNHA.
Hellsing Ultimate or Hajime no ippo next? :4
I remember this was one of my first anime a watch because it was on Netflix so ya but I used to rewatch this a lot back in the day and I’m finally going to watch it again I will up date this when I’m done
Note haven’t read the manga Heard that was a good thing
Pretty good just how I remembered but something I did not remember is the music that shit slaps so hard and the art to season 3 pls 8.5/10
I just finished season 2...
i would remember the music more had the series been better. i have pretty much the same feelings you had for the series. i liked it. it made me pay attention and care but it's not exactly all that special. i enjoyed the comedy in the beginning because i don't watch shounen very often (but i still enjoy shounen) though it got old fast. i watched the whole series when there was only 20 eps of the kingdom of magic and then i caught up to the series, got mad, and as always when this happens, i no longer cared about finishing by the time the next episode was out. i'll wait for the unlikely third season before i finish this. i do plan on finishing at some point but not until i feel like watching the show again. besides, i already know there's no way they're going to finish the show by the time they need to which always makes me angry. (it makes the show feel like a waste of my time.) i think i've seen 21 eps of the second season. (i tried to care for a week but couldn't do it any longer than that. i'm just not good at waiting for shows. i like to watch things now all at once and just marathon them. otherwise, i get wrapped up in reality and responsibilities and by the time i come back, i've already moved on to something else or i just don't enjoy watching the show any longer or i don't remember what happened last time. it just always make the show feel choppy.) i remember good memories of the music and i cared about the dramatics even though aladdin had only met those people ten minutes ago. (i thought he stayed with them for like a week or something. i don't know. didn't he spend the night with them or something. idk i just remember being bummed the characters went their separate ways though i was ok with it in the end.)
It’s not exactly all that special? How many anime have you seen that get into politics?
I think the prequel is a much better entrance into the World of dungeons and such compared to the labyrinth of magic(s1)
I agree that the 2nd season was better however I really liked morgianna and she had less screentime in the 2nd season than hinoka had in fe fates revelations...
Oh i love politics and war/strategy in anime, gotta check Magi out now.
Kou empire is the only proper “war” arc really
I fcked up I started of with sinbad and barely discovered magi.. didn't even notice the title was even it 🤣🤣
Sindbad is the best character
It’s “Morgiana” with a j sound
Just watch season two. It is amazing. You don’t need to watch season one to see what is going on. I was perfectly fine with season two alone
Christine cormier you’re disgusting
Aidol tui :>
Review the anime I"s or I"s pure
Did he really try comparing dragon ball to magi 😂
They’re only pronounced “Arajin” and “Aribaba” because it’s in Japanese and not English
If only they finished the story....
"aladin has a djin bc of dunno why"... U didn't get it what aladin is 😁
Manga was better. And longer. Hands down
Short Answer: No
Until they release S3
Hopefully...
i love this review.
It's funny how you say fifty episodes is hi fairytail has 276
On episode 8 of this anime and I cant understand what's going on. The pacing is too fast and I feel like they're just constantly tossing the characters in these random scenarios without explaining why. There's also barely any intense or extreme ongoing struggle; They get into a tiny scuffle and it conveniently gets taken care of 4 minutes before the episode ends. The characters arent really convincing at times and it's too much slapstick for a story that's supposed to be serious at times. The characters actions are pretty predictable at times too. The plus side is that like SAO this anime feel like its really addictive to binge watch for the first 12 episodes of the 1st season. And maybe it's so addictive because of the dragonball and one piece vibes coming from it.
Forgot to mention this but the characters motivation are wack and some dont really have any to begin with. Magi is my favorite character tho and Alibaba and morgana are 2nd and 3rd . Everyone else aren't that interesting at all
It gets super serious and heavy around episode 10. The Balbadd arc is a complete tearjerker (for me it was) and from there it just goes downhill.
You probably didn’t understand it correctly then. Maybe the anime isn’t for you and you might want to read the manga in order the understand.
The first season was horrible compared to the second one which was actually really good.
its Aladdin... you just cant write or pronounce it that way in Japanese but still... it's Aladdin
This was suggested to be by a friend who havent really saw a lot of anime. I probably mage her watch around 10 animes before she mentions this one. She compared it to Juni Taisen or Fate/Zero which i doubt but got me interested. i have low expectations but since its on netflix i gave it a try. Its surprisingly mature and tackled topics stated which was a huge plus for me. Im only starting season but Villains were definitely the weak part. I forgave the first villain for being so simplistic but the organization itself were way too boring and indeed appears just evil to be evil. Jundar was kinda interesting at first but he's nowhere near Hisuka-level. The guy with mask was inconsistent and probably any real person assigned to be the villain will do a lot more damage if wielded his powers. Tho the princesses surprised me since i saw them as villains at first.
Yeah no. I would give it a C at Max. The art was beautiful and the characters had the opportunity to be really interesting but they never made the characters any deeper. If anything Alibaba just became less heroic and more of a coward by the end. They also repeat everyone's names WAAAAY to often. Ali....baba......Alibaba?.....Al.......ibaba
Philip Sparks season 2 episode 22
Ehh I found the first season mid at best. Every character is so one sided, especially the villains. The characters can sometimes be insufferable and suffocating. Magi and the blond guy are always so over dramatic and unrealistic. The first dungeon they went into seemed way too easy for it to not have been cleared.
Excuse me? Did you called dragonball JUST MUSCLEMAN SHOUTING AT EACH OTHER!?!?!?
*"TRIGGERT"*
Not to sound like, y'know, that kind of person...but the manga is better.
Mr Maws yes
That's just facccccts though
It's true.
Halharl Infigaar!!
why many animes have this steriotypical rainbow hair cast? shit wouldn't be better they give the character a bit of a tan (like real arabians) ?
the reason why they are like this is so that the character design emphasizes with the cheerful anime that has the anime, asking for that kind of realism is totally unnecessary

mrprotoman145 no,magi is realy great shounen
That's one of the most accurate 7 word reviews I've ever read. I couldn't have said it any better myself so I'm going to say what you just said. Magi has great music, great animation, Morgiana is a phenomenal character and the show falls flat in pretty much every other area.
Zaaron Gaming tell me what are the areas that it falls in.
Also the music was garbage as well. Well the music itself wasn't but it never matched the tone of the actually show. During a battle sequence you would just hear a bunch of crappy trumpets or spring noises that would have been good during a punchline. It made me wonder what the music director was smoking....
Philip Sparks A lot of people would disagree, timing of the OST’s were bad but you really can’t tell because the OST’s are one of the best.
I honestly don’t get the hype around magi. The story just never took off for me and was insanely predictable. Felt like it was trying to explore mature themes in an immature way. Hard to explain but just never felt like they nailed the tone. Like you said, I really wanted to like this show, but really walked away without understanding what the point of it is
I absolutely hate full metal alchemist why do people like that show. Hunter X Hunter is probably the best, but Magi is a close second
maybe because it is an anime that stands out in all aspects of its genre, has a solid plot without holes and an excellent development of personages
