- Ambro Controls OXYSET is a light weight torch kit designed for brazing jobs within the HVAC/R industry. The set uses mapp gas, oxygen and the torch temperature reaches brazing temperatures at approximately 5500 degrees Fahrenheit. The video explains the OXYSET torches, what comes in the kit, how much it weighs, how long the tanks last and how to set the oxygen and mapp gas cylinders properly.

The weight does it for me
I’ve had one for six months now. I use it for all my service work and find it very handy. Would recommend it for anyone to use the conveniences just second none.
I've been using it for resi service for about 3 months. It's a great set. The weight is a huge plus, and it gets plenty hot even for 1 1/8th copper. The flame is larger than my old oxy/accet set , which can be problematic in tight spots. As far as the oxy lasting. I just keep an extra bottle on my truck just in case.

This might be nice some times. Just get sick of lugging the Victor around. No great way of mounting it to pack out wheels. I would weld up a carrier, but it would just weigh more, and lugging it though the grass would be a pain. Thought about an air accytelyne rig, but theres other issues as well.
Are the tips proprietary? I'm interested, but I see the best benefit if I could use my captain's hook tip.
Do you think one could braze tungsten carbide to mild steel with this set and the appropriate brazing rods?
I like the idea, but 30 mins out of a disposable oxygen tank seems like more of an inconvenience. I really like my oxy acetylene kit.
If you know how to solder fast and good it should last you aa few or more good jobs. Definitely not for someone who doesn’t solder good
I've been using my turbo torch for the past 45 years, but I hear what you're saying. If I wasn't retired already, I'd probably want one of each so I carry less for doing those commercial jobs that feel like a mile away from my truck, but then have a bigger rig for more involved jobs.

can you cut steel with that rig? Also, when brazing, do you have the option of using just MAPP or do you have to use O2 all the time?

Your right weight is a plus the oxy acetylene rig is about 70lbs easy

Yep, he also conflates heat with temperature! I run 5 acetylene and 7 oxygen, for a carbonizing flame (not sure how that translates to mapp / oxygen, but doubt it would be 5 mapp and 60 oxygen)… Finally, he brazes like one would solder electrical joints… Hey buddy, the allow follows the heat, hold the flame on the opposite side of the tube, not above it!

But still really like the idea. I have bunch of 30 year old Goodman heat pumps for 3 rd floor Apts and no elevator. So, my old ass would benefit greatly with this.
