Was wondering why dont you use regular inserts and play with different field point weights? Im planning to build this same one but was going to add 150 grains in the front as well (im lucky with a 27” draw). Should i be concerned in using a regular insert and field point or should i stick to the target glue in points?

Enjoyed listening to your " learning curve" story. I guess a fellow can't foresee all the issues that might arise on a new adventure. I'm a little OCD when it comes to being prepared and my son says it's looks like I'm taking our entire bow workroom with us. Now for me I'm pretty sure I would take two dozen ready arrows to a TAC event. I'm not a long range shooter like so many seem to be. I don't practice much above 60 yards as I would only shoot at coyotes or wild pigs. Of coarse, if I were planning an elk hunt that would be different. I just see why TAC deems it necessary to have so many ridiculously long shots other than just for fun stuff. 👍👍🏹👀

I have used the app " Tapes" for years on many bow/arrow combinations. It doesn't require a bunch of hard to get measurements. Tried that app a few times and it's too much trouble. The " Tapes" app needs two marks for distance. Naturally, the gap needs to be as spaced out as YOU can reliably shoot. Like a 20 yard to 80 yard is better than 20 to 50. It's a ballistic application and theoretically about any gap should work. Really need a quality printer with multiple ink colors. Print out on self stick mailing labels that come on a sheet that will feed thru the printer.

How are you finding the "torque rings" on the AV41? Are they helpful, indifferent? Waiting on my carbon pro Landslyde 3 pin .010 to come in. As far as the Picatinny, I think they generally, even on rifle scopes, have a settle in period. .001 accuracy should be spot on bit remember a human hair is .003~ so any dirt or dust on the mating surfaces will throw it off. Keep up the great work 👍

I find them helpful for a different reason. Aperture of the peep can be smaller to start so as I slide all the way down the outer ring still fills the peep. Black gold ring is barely visible at home base setting and starts to get light around it when it’s way down.

SS Victory review here I'm not happy with these. Shooting a Ventum 33 with 550 gr.SS. I pulled my last shot of the day and the arrow stuck a cherry tree at 90 yards and I found the back end, vane end, laying about a foot away from the shaft. Brand Spanking New! Then I shot into a piece of plywood, that one broke in half flying 10' away. Then I was bragging how tough these arrows were comparing with a TKO together and the SS cracked and the TKO was just fine. Done with them! Ordered up a set of Day 6 HD 275's.

The Leupold FullDraw 3 has angle compensation, so you shouldn't need a cut chart unless you're using it in LOS mode. So, anything on picatinny it's all about installing it the same way each time. On a rifle, you push it forward into the slot so that the rearward recoil doesn't let the sight slide forward. Your bow probably jumps forward. And the picatinny is perpendicular to that motion. So just pick between pushing the pic rail either up or down, and push it while you cinch your bolt. If you wanna take it to the extreme, torque it to the same torque value each reassembly.

Why bother with so much weight up front on the 3DHV!? Even 110 is overkill on those things. Try 90 and watch your trajectory issues vaporise... those things are smokin fast!!
A good compromise is the Easton Bloodline. It's a .003 lightweight arrow that is much more durable than the 3DHV. It's not a .204 though (it's a .234/H-series).
I recently robin hooded one and the amount of damage the shaft took was minimal, and I wasn't even running bushings or pins. Not as light as a 3DHV, but still a seriously under-rated shaft!!
(and don't let the cheap price fool you, they're awesome for 3D and outdoor target in windy conditions).

Ive got a buddy that’s done some research and long story short, believes a lighter spine, or one broken down more shoots tighter groups at distance. Wanted to try it out.

Dynamic spine is such a bxtch to figure out (which is why I'm as into tinkering as I am) - so maybe a 300sp with 140gn up front will stop oscillating faster than say a 350 with 110gn will, and therefore settle down earlier in flight!?
It'll also change the position of the nodes etc.
Someone needs to do some fancy high speed video of arrows in flight!!
