      @@ep3389 Sorry buddy but I pay something everytime I go in to my local archery shop. I tip ten bucks even when they don’t charge me. I’ve learned more from UA-cam from people like MFJJ and other pro channels then my local shop owner knows. I drive an hour outta my state to another better shop because my local shop doesn’t pay enough attention to details for me. I’ve drove to Lancaster archery twice before I found the shop an hour away and Lancaster is 2 1/2 hours away. I got no problem paying for great service and knowledgeable staff. In my opinion my local shop is great for beginners and people that want basic stuff. I like tinkering around and the local shop doesn’t have products to even so I have to order offline and learn what I can online.

    That was absolutely fantastic and gave me something to think about. Sadly I don't have a pro shop with a quality Archery coach like MFJJ even remotely close to me.
    As I mentioned before I have a 2006 PSE Fire Flite 33 left hand that's set at 60 lbs and 29 in draw with 75% let off. I recently had a custom bow string and cable put on and I upgraded my release to a $100 single hook trigger release, a black gold 5 pin no floater sight and a Hamskea Primer rest over a whisker biscuit. I even watched a how to become a better archer series by John Dudley and follow the reminders and steps. I still end up shooting fliers or too high or too low. With broadheads and with field points.
    Thanks for sharing this video Brandon.

    I loved the over the top draw note for all the people who seem to think that the human body is a machine that works the same way for everyone😅 and it is kinda fun to notice that when a normal guy draws a little bit weird everyone gets toxic. But when a guy like cam does it only a few people say anything about it. Might be that its a little hard to argue about the shooting style of a guy who can hit a dinner plate from over 200 yards😅 great video as always, keep em coming👌

    Awesome material from two of my four favorite archery wizards :) That sort of vids people watch several of times, like kind of Bible ;) I dicovered today, that pulling through the wall - or rather pushing bow forwards - adds some extra fps which rezults in arrows landing randomly higher above the center. Even this tiny element, must be done consistently and pulling should take every time the same amount of strength. Anyway, please, keep making archery treasures like this, Brandon :)

    10:14 If drawing with a high elbow isn't most efficient, then what is? Most guys who shoot compound and don't do the chicken wing draw draw with a high elbow because they need the leverage early on in the draw cycle. Compounds draw weight ramps up really early in the draw cycle, unlike traditional bows. When done properly the high elbow gives your body massive leverage over that back shoulder joint whilst also pulling with your back. I view it as a modified pullup on that side of the body. For me personally, the higher I put that elbow, the easier it is to pull. That doesn't necessarily mean its the healthiest way for some peoples shoulders, but I do believe it to be most efficient. I'd love to hear your thoughts Brandon.

    Great video! I'm a long draw guy battling with a few things and had my suspicions on what it is. I shoot 32" DL and on my old Bowtech Insanity CPXL I dropped to 31.5" DL. Gave me much more "control" over my bow. So I ordered my Traverse with 31.5" mods at 85% letoff. When I measured AMO DL on the bow it came out to 32.25" Over time I realise that the DL can be too long although it "Felt good" but when I loose a bit of focus I too miss to the left. I'm just not sure if 31.5" at 75% letoff will have the same 3/4" overdraw. So, I will test 31.5" and 31" mods at 75% letoff. Learned a lot from this video, thx Brandon & MFJJ

But it was much harder work. Still want to test 31.5" 75% mods. Think the lower percentage letoff will help with shot execution.

    Soo good! I've been thinking about cutting ¼-½" off my draw but without someone really there to check muscle placement etc I'm not sure if it's because I switched to a hinge after years of super short wrist rocket releases or its actually long.. keep up the great work!

    My initial thought was that this was a western dude 😳 trying to brow beat u into shooting the 4mm new micro FMJ's. Then I recognized Podium shop & was relieved. The dude knows his stuff. My tip to u is to practice more on the downward angle. I actually fire half my arrows downrange from a 🌳. All @ 3D targets. Why?...cuz I hunt from a stand or saddle always. After I got over my elbow & shoulder injuries a year ago I noticed that my 2 bows were quite different when shooting from a saddle. If I never got into the saddle thing I would have never discovered this. A light 💡went off in my head when he had u draw up & down. To me I owe 90% of my accuracy to my Stan & my anchor point. Last year the Bowmar nose button brought that up a tick. In a hunting situation it really helps when I draw on a target or an animal below me.

      @@brandonmcdonald6121 I had to watch this again since it is very therapeutic. Most of the things he talks about I've done by instinct which has required no thought process @ all. Mostly with the different stances. I've hunted from stands backwards facing the 🌳 like I was a saddle hunter even though I knew nothing about a saddle other than for a horse. When u had problems b4 u recognized that u needed to be more flexible. I think of the movie Fight Club & some of the quotes Pitt had. Like the ones that started with "I say".
      A bow I keep around even though the draw length is too short is the Prime Centergy. I have made it work with the draw specific cam by having the highest letoff which I hate & use a more forgiving & longer D-loop I made out of the BCY #23 green d-loop cordage. In 🥶 weather late in the season this bow with me have no compare.
      I couldn't D.M. u on your latest Mathews V3 video. Most the reply messages from that video to your viewers is a text back scam. It has happened on other archery channels like Creek Kings in Ohio. They have warned their viewers not to respond to that Hack. Thought u would want to know & I'm hoping 2022 is better for u.

    Love your videos. Curious to know your (and MFJJ's) thought's on stabilizer bars. I've seen MFJJ briefly mention them on an Elkshape video but nothing in depth on advantages/disadvantages on longer (15 in) vs shorter (8-10 in) front bars, back bars, etc. Same with running a sidebar vs a separate front & back bar. Straight bar vs 10 degree offset, etc. Thanks.

    If you would have stayed at 85% let off you would have been illegal hunting in Colorado. On my No Cam and Triax I used to have I had to go to 75% let off cause they didn’t offer the 80% like my Creed. I actually started liking the 75%, Felt like it kept me more focused. Was interesting on on the length and the where you would miss.

    Terrific Big Tips from MFJJ... Curious what you felt in your front grip after draw length was shortened. And what MFJJ ment when he said " Ya, your grip touches a lot better now." Was there just more visible compression into your hand? Going to give Big Tip #5 a try and see what results I get. Look forward to what foot placement changes he tells you to make after you try it too.

    • @joshjones6862
      @joshjones6862 3 роки тому +1

      He was shooting a higher wrist position which is difficult to maintain. His hand now has as much pressure in the throat of the grip as the heel of the grip which will make shot after shot more consistant.

      I think josh is right. I noticed it a lot more in the TAC shoot this weekend. Shooting flat is 1/3 of the battle. Shooting inclines really made me pay attention to that grip pressure more.

    How much of my sight ring should I be seeing through my peep? I feel like I see more than I should. Thanks.

    • @1989inception
      @1989inception 3 роки тому +1

      You should see your whole sight ring. If you see to much of it its hard to find consistency. If you see way to much of the sight ring you can get a smaller peep sight but beware if you go to small then not enough light passed through. For target archery it will be ok but for first light hunting you will run into problems.

    • @brandonmcdonald6121
      @brandonmcdonald6121  3 роки тому +1

      If it’s not a slider scope I like to see most of the ring but no light around it at draw. If you’ve got Light around the housing that you can see through the peep the good news is your groups are about to get a ton tighter
