To be fair, from what i gather, the A Life might or might not be there, but the real problem is that, even if it is, it's not exactly turned on. Even GSC acknowledged that, at the very least, it is not working well. Me and most other people heavily suspect it is either not in a very developed stage and they're buying time, or it's literally not there and they will now go and make it. And as i said, GSC themselves acknowledged this and said they'll work on it.
after turning off the compass and reconfiguring the controls to match SOCGA im having a lot of fun (f1 f2 for consumables, 1-7 for items, b for pda, v for melee, disable radial menu, disable mouse wheel weapon select)
I've actually took some time to dig into console commands and files, since I was trying to bugfix a quest (and subsequently spoiled myself a chuck of the plot). There are direct mentions of A-Life. I cannot comment on it's complexity and scripting, and I did ancounter a few "spawn bandits behind my back" scenarios, but saying that it's been cut is a ridiculous statement.
I'm still trying to figure out what kind of game Stalker 2 is. I'm a person who is easily scared and yet something just pushes me forward when I play this game, despite the foreboding, depressing and horrorish atmosphere. What is happening to me?
You were lucky, I already have 50 hours on the PC and after 40 the game started to bug in the missions (obviously it has nothing to do with the hours, but you need more time playing to find more bugs)
Im currently 20 hours into the game, after playing hundreds of hours of stalker gamma, I can safely say that this game is much easier. I’ve run into a few bugs that forced me to restart the game but the game is playable.
So far, I think you may have gotten the lucky end of the stick. On MANY, and I mean MOST people’s ends, they’ve been suffering from massive bugs and performance issues, especially on pc. On xbox it isnt as bad but then it suffers from that horrible 0 deadzone that you cannot change. Another thing is just that A Life is NOT present, the devs said it’s broken rn and is getting a fix but im not optimistic that we’re getting this within the next 2 or so weeks. The rest of the game is really good, but one of stalker’s defining features that makes it unique is alife, and without it can feel like a generic open world rpg shooter at times. Also the economy is a little irritating with the repair costs, as well as durability running down like WAY too quickly, and with mutants even compared to the og trilogy, they are too tanky, especially bloodsuckers. FOR NOW, I give Stalker an 8/10, once all the issues are ironed out, performance becomes better, alife is fixed, definitely giving it a 10/10, but just an 8/10 for now
In it's present state it is unplayable because of the never ending crashes & looks to much like true stalker, maybe in a few years time when they fix it & the modders give it the misery treatment it should be a good game.
I understand why the devs chose unreal engine 5 but it's such a mess of a engine. The awful performance just intensifies the annoyance of bugs in general, reminds of Jedi Survivor. Maybe this will be worth a pickup in 3 more years with much powerful hardware and mod fixes.

Man looking up to the upper left corner to watch the minimap and there is nothing took a while to adapt
needs logs too, and notifications with stalker faces

It complicated. GSC has said themselves that it's not really working, i don't remember the wording exactly. They literally made a statement about it.
@@brunoactis1104 They said that it does exist and confirmed that it's working incorrectly.
First things I did after starting the game: Turned off compass and weapon crosshair. Best game of the year so far.
Best game after Elden Ring for me. Didn't had so much fun in years.

Thanks for the video, fellow stalker!

Can you do long range sniping in the game?
Yo, plz do another stalker 2 recreated in anomaly video, that would be nice.

what means A-LIFE !
