This mod always needs new players. It's been going for years and is still the best online shooter out there. Only WW2 shooter I can be bothered to play. Only Post Scriptum comes close. A well-scripted RP Arma III co-op campaign is cool too, but even rarer.
You're welcome! I used to play on the Wolfgaming servers and I was on the mod team. Modeled quite a few vehicles and planes and one of the favorites I made was the Matilda tank. I was just on discord chatting with my friends about the good ol days with this game and we can't believe it's still going.
Been playing FH2 since 2011 and it is still my favorite fps of all time I'd say. It's well balanced between playability and realism, as it is mainly a BF but with realistic mechanics and accurate features.
FH2 content doesn't really end with the official stuff. Custom maps take the battle to the fronts not explored by the devs such as South East Asia and Pacific, just that since last biggest patch broke the compatibility with many of them, they've been out of regular rotation since. We're having our first Test Event tomorrow 16th with the devs to try out some new maps and hopefully we can gradually start rolling them out to public server rotation over the spring and summer. You can check our stuff over at cmp-gaming.com and join our Discord at discord.cmp-gaming.com, we'll be hosting several events the next few weeks before we get back to our usual Tournament games in April!

Never really played battlefield, but the mod reminds me of Rising Storm 2 with its early war, mid war, and late war systems which allow for certain factions to exist, have more weaponry, or more abilities. I had thought that Tripwire were the first to do so on a significant level, but I guess not.
Huge fan of FH 1 and when this came out it melted my brain. Still a very fun game to play. Also you can still play this single player and multiplayer and without having battlefield 2. Look up FH2 Standalone.
yes large maps.. getting killed easily, forcing you to take cover, work with other players to hold flags/bases. the excitement of trying to avoid a tank. Thats what is missing from the new BF games. Everyone's running around jumping and sprinting really fast, realoading really fast healing really fast etc... there's no fear as you can take many hits, then heal yourself, reload and kill your opponent all while running.. it's too arcadey. In the older ones you had to be more cautious as you wanted to stay alive for as long as possible. As the maps were large and the battle spread out you pushed towards capturing a flag/base with a few or more team members. It was measured and you had to push forward gradually. Nowadays it's everyone rush to the first point run and gun then onto the next point...rinse repeat rinse repeat. It's sad as there are millions of games like that and not enough with the gameplay of the old BF games. Also you can play offline with a whole army of bots vs bots. for practice before you go online... you can't even do that with the new BF games. You can get the FH Mod with the game engine built in...so don't need the original BF2 game. I actually used to play the Forgotten Hope mod for BF1942 which had even more content, armies, tanks, weapons and even navel battles, submarines, aircraft carriers... new BF games are so cut down now, they have about half or maybe less content than the original BF1942 game. Yup they look great and sound great but that doesn't make for a satisfying game that you want to come back to again and again.
Post Scriptum offers all of this, just with fewer maps and options. But it needs a fast PC. FH2 is still a better way to spend a Friday evening if there's a campaign running.

The bulk of the players are playing the mod for many years and obviously knows every inch of the maps, knows how to spot the enemies, knows where to hide and where to go. @@CptEngage I've had a similar experience with Forgotten Hope 2, however I have a hell of a lot of fun playing co-op/singleplayer. Of course there are drawbacks to that as well, the AI not being as clever as actual human players, sometimes getting tanks stuck in places, etc. However they have some strengths too. They're deadly accurate attacking ground targets with airplanes, very good with the Panzerfaust, & at higher difficulty levels they can be quite accurate with small arms. I've found the best way to play co-op is to try using somewhat historical ratios when it comes to the number of players/bots on each team. For instance during the actual battle of Omaha Beach the Germans were outnumbered over 5 to 1 by the Americans. When playing Omaha Beach in FH2 it isn't necessary to go quite that extreme as the Germans will get absolutely steamrolled in minutes. If I'm play that map on Germany with 64 bots + me, typically I'll do 41 players on the American team & 24 on the German team. Difficulty level set somewhere around 70%, 18 - 20 second respawn time, and I'll increase the number of tickets as well so the battle will last longer. Of course these numbers don't have to be set in stone, you can make adjustments to fit the playing style you like best. On maps where one side has a lot of static gun emplacements sometimes it's best to add some extra bots onto that team because generally bots won't exit static emplacements & often times the battle will happen in such a way that one or more of the static emplaced guns will not see much combat if any. Which is sort of how it was for actual soldiers during WW2. Not every German unit garrisoned along the Atlantic Wall had to fight off an invasion like they did at Omaha. Anyway this comment is already much longer than I originally intended so I'll stop it here. Those are just a few of my experiences with playing Forgotten Hope 2 co-op.

you forgot about FH1 that mod has more factions
WW1 expansion pack for FH2
Project reality 2 and forgotten hope 2 should be on steam. But of course DICE and EA will not allow it
@@RavenKStudios yeah but forgotten hope 2 is better than that p2w crap heroes and general
9:05 I died right here, man I despise BF5 and the schyzophrenia of its developpers.
What is this game?
Basically, Ww2 version of BF2
And its alot better
One thing i dislike from FH2 is, the god awful bots
But it was years ago, so it might be better now

Please , i would like translate him (portuguese legends) to many peoples in my country , but it's a locked video for translations. "enable the community contribution option" .Many peoples will watch this video , because youTube is a HUGE in Brazil
$NU$ williebrown, ProfessorAnthrax. There are some familiar names in this video.
Why didnt they make their own game at that point
My PC can't handle the game, it runs at 5 fps on a server.
Which sucks because I really like this mod.
Regaizz time to upgrade
@@612murderapolis That would be a lot of spare money I don't have.
Whats your PC specs?
This game should run at low settings on a potato. Lots of Russian guys playing on potato settings in CMP.
Drowning poll
this is poor man's red orchestra, tho i like fh2 more beause it hase more accessible vehicles
Have vanilla battlefield ever claimed to be realistic?
uhm the dev of Forgotten Hope 2 actually touched on the Pacific campaign
Nope, the Community did.
You could help them, if you like...
😏
And now about Russian Community in the FH2 , because many russians play in the this modification. Tell about russians in CMP Gaming Com!
i perfer singleplayer they should put more russian maps or finnish ones
Well you are in luck, another finnish map is coming in the next update.
it's a nice mod but I can't stand the way US soldiers speak and scream one line when they are inside a vehicle...
Forgotten Hope 2 is CRAP compared to BF42 Forgotten Hope.
BF42 had over 100 Standalone Mods build, it was like Minecraft.
Check how cheap the Ragdolls are in BF2, CRAP.
BF2 and follow up's are not very well suited for Modifying, because EA hates Modders....
