This is why Dice abandoning mod support was an absolute 1 IQ level choice. Thanks to the modding community of Battlefield 2, we got mods like Project Reality and Forgotten Hope 2, which has just as much content if not more than a full price game. Just imagine if mod tools were released on newer titles like 3, 4, or even 1 and V for that matter. Mods would look so amazing and have a lot more to work with (assuming that Frostbite is stronger than the Refractor engine).
Dice never liked mods. Even in BF2 they made some things to make it hard to mod, the community had to do a lot to make it work. Then a new patch would come and the mods wouldn't work, the mods would have to release a patch to make the mods work again. Going forward Dice did even worse. Also their strategy is to release new games every few years, if a mod keeps the previous game alive, that means less people to buy their new game. They don't like when someone else extends their game lifetime when you are suppose to just forget about it and pre-order the new one.
Even battle year matters You can't have STG44s in 1941 or M14s in 1940, there aren't even any rocket launchers prior to 1941 you use fucking anti tank guns

@@DutchGuyMike they really are on most maps too, and if you look at them, they really arent waypointed with the most complex of nodes, but they are able to take positions and flanks pretty well, even if its just their pathfinding leading them that way

BF5 just puts reverb on everything. BF5 gameplay is just everything that is wrong with modern AAA shooters. FH2 and Post Scriptum are the only shooters I can be bothered with.
What is most noticeable is just how bad the sight picture is in BF V. I get it that they want to make it casual, where kill mean nothing and they are barely a statistic, but the erratic recoil patterns (actually likable), but the low damage per shot makes this game much worse than it could be.
Obviously you cant argue that forgotten hope 2 weapons animations are better that would be bad faith but for the time that was some amazing animations.

God, FH has such better sounds too. I own a Walther P38 and I can tell you for certain that the BFV sounds absolutely nothing like the real thing. Even with that weird little echo at the end of the FH P38 sound, it is far and away better.
A mod from an old game since 2000s maybe better than a game in 2010s, at some point at least, though the graphics of the older was not as good as the newer, of course, but the gun sounds and animations can do the rest part that the graphics can't, that were the things made of FH2. Ah, the loud earrape after every single shot is the good point compare to BFV, which also has the earrape but not loud enough. IMO, I'll choose Battlefield 2 : Forgotten Hope. *Forgotten Hope but not be a forgotten game*
Lol considering BF5s weapon sounds were recorded from actual weaponry from the era, I highly doubt forgotten hope 2's are objectively "more realistic". There are some gun sounds in FH2 that don't even sound remotely similar to the real gun it's portraying, like the Thompson.

Yes! The amount of content is second to none, most of the maps are great and the community is decent (just be prepared to die a lot at first, you have to play smart to live in FH2)
It is still worth trying in 2022. There was a major update recently, France was added as a faction with a bunch of new maps. Besides I am playing a CMP campaign right now, and I have seen full public servers recently. So the game is still alive, and that is awesome )
i have seen the mg34, mg42,m1 garand and carbine, mp40 and more shoot at machine gun meets. the second example of each was far more accurate (fh2).....
The BF5 was like it was inspired by FH2, the difference is, the sound designs in BF5 is less louder than FH2 even when it's already using real life example of gun sounds while FH2 are using movies example like the MG42 which sounds exactly the same as MG42 in "Saving Private Ryan"

Yes! The amount of content is second to none, most of the maps are great and the community is decent (just be prepared to die a lot at first, you have to play smart to live in FH2)
It is still worth trying in 2022. There was a major update recently, France was added as a faction with a bunch of new maps. Besides I am playing a CMP campaign right now, and I have seen full public servers recently. So the game is still alive, and that is awesome )
i have seen the mg34, mg42,m1 garand and carbine, mp40 and more shoot at machine gun meets. the second example of each was far more accurate (fh2).....

The BF5 was like it was inspired by FH2, the difference is, the sound designs in BF5 is less louder than FH2 even when it's already using real life example of gun sounds while FH2 are using movies example like the MG42 which sounds exactly the same as MG42 in "Saving Private Ryan"
