We can look to independent development studios for that. World War 3 and Insurgency: Sandstorm. Sandstorm will be releasing a software development kit (SDK) for modders!
This game had 3 layers. Infantry, vehicles and air combat. It's totally different. You could play like spy missions and use c4 to blow up the enemy stuff, using stealth and vehicles to drop behind enemy lines. You could jump out of a plane and jump back in it haha. It even had bullet drop. Does anyone remember sniping from one coast of wake island to the other coast? Or lying on a crane sniping on sharqi peninsula. Literally an incredible game. The bullet spread on the guns also meant that dodging and bunny hoping was really effective, so if you're aim wasn;t good you could still survive and thrive. WHAT A GAME!!
I just love how clean the graphic used to look like in BF2. Unlike nowadays's advanced and fancy graphical effect and designs, back then it was easy to identify target and just the right amount of terrain details ---- it didn't put stress on my eyes compared to modern battlefield games with all the small objects and particle effects, or modern FPS with fancy graphics in general. Maybe I'm just getting old.
I know this comment is a bit old but i agree, the more the games polish their graphics and make everything blend in more with the players the harder and more stressful it is for a player to notice the enemies. It's something i've come across many times over the years and that seems to be the right answer. Fortnite actually stood up to me as a game that actually managed to bring back that clear differentiation between player and background
@@PrimeGamator depends on what kind of person you are. For me Fortnite looks childish and everything I don't want for my shiny and photorealistic looking games. The biggest factor that encouraged teamplay was the fact that you could only spawn on your squad leader, so there wasn't just a constant supply of spawning enemies, it was much easier to take out a squad. That coupled with slower spawn times, bigger distances between spawns and slower movement speed meant that people played more cautiously. If I remember correctly grenade spam was only introduced in the last couple patches the game received. Some other studio was in charge of supporting the game while DICE moved on, and they made terrible gameplay changes that resulted in grenade spam, and it made it easier to resupply ammo and health so there was less teamplay.
BF2 was a big part of my childhood, one of the first games that I asked my mom to buy, if not the first. Subsequent decade and more was spent in various mods, 99% in PR. That being said, I still consider BF3 to be "the best" in terms of setting a new bar.
i remember playing this when i was young, i would either watch my dad play it, and be so surprised when he played with the goofy joystick. (that i still have) when his pc was finally mine, i played it so much in singleplayer. If you still have all the files of BF2, you can download a No-Cd-Crack for free. Then you have to put some .DLL files into the system or system32 folder (or something). You will find all or most of the files in the Battlefield 2 folder. Also, you have to put the application that comes with the No-CD-Crack in to the Battlefield 2 folder. it actually does. It applies to everything as nostalgia is just such an overwhelming feeling we all humans experience about anything. You see your old tamagotchi toy and get nostalgia out of it. 04:10 EA didn't actually ask Revive to stop providing their services for keeping the game alive, in the e-mail it was asked that they don't make the game available for download nor use official BF2 logos as they weren't associated with EA. You would still be able to torrent the game, install from an old disk, or even install it from Origin or Steam if you owned it before it was removed from the store, and then install the Revive client. But the Revive team overreacted to EA's e-mail and just decided to cease their work, which they didn't need to. They gave no opportunity for discussion, just woke up one morning and it wasn't there anymore, no forum for us to discuss what happened, no previous warning, they just gave up for no reason. People need to stop saying that EA shut down Revive, Project Reality and Forgotten Hope 2 are still alive despite the fact that what they do is much worse in regards of EULA breach (especially PR, which still uses core BF2 stuff but doesn't require you to download it anymore), and still EA doesn't give two shits about them. Why would EA shut down Revive but keep PR and FH2 running?
Yeah I remember reading about this too and I was kinda disappointed with the revive team having no backbone at all. EA isn't like Rockstar who puts their lawyers coming to normal people's doors demanding to delete a remake of GTA San Andreas or they will sue them for 500 000 dollars. I understand that marketing your site with official logos from another company's game isn't fine so why they didn't just change it, I have no idea but it only comes cross as they were cowards. And very true with PR, if it was Rockstar's game PR makers would've been sued already, the project would've been cancelled and probably Rockstar would be demanding 50% of the profits of SQUAD. EA isn't so bad in the end when you comapre it to Take2Interactive and Rockstar games.

I don't understand why Publisher and Developer seem to think customization and easy gameplay are a good thing for games. A good thing perhaps for Arena Shooter like Overwatch, but not for games like Battlefield 2. Or Battlefront.

Ahh yes the battlefield game where weapons deals less damage than a peashooter, accuracy of weapons that is worse than my 90 year old grandpa’s aim ,pistol is more accurate than a sniper rifle, and so much grenade spam plus Reloads AK rifle with the same magazine just rotated and 10/10 would play it again
Love this game and there a video on here how to use it again on line
I have the cd and key and going to play it again .it was plain and simple to use some are to hard to use now
i just got this with the AIX mod pretty damn excited
More commonly known as "The last good thing dice produced"
I don't understand why Publisher and Developer seem to think customization and easy gameplay are a good thing for games. A good thing perhaps for Arena Shooter like Overwatch, but not for games like Battlefield 2. Or Battlefront.
they don't make the game for pc. they make it for children playing on consoles as that's where they sell the most and there's alot less piracy :p
So hard gameplay is crap inaccurate weapons, grenade spam, c4 jumping, and dropshoting? I'll take Battlefield 3's style of gameplay.
My *favourite* battlefield
I only ever had the Computer Bild Demo. Still good times
ᛞᛖᚾᚾᛁᛋ ᛏᚱᛟᚹᚨᛏᛟ Gulf of Oman?
i think so yea
Definitely the best of the series!!!!
good old times
can you do an episode for the mod Project Reality?
Offline CTF is the best mode for any game and that's what I love about BF2. I hope EA listened to every comment of offline CTF lover here and granted our wishes with a remastered BF2
are you gonna make a video on Project Reality?
The amount of shots needed to kill was ridiculous
Please continue forward and do an episode on BF:2142 :)
What a game. So many hours spent playing it. I still revisit it regularly via BF2Hub and it holds up!
2142 was my fav battlefield game love all of them.
How does someone obtain a working copy of this game? Does anyone think EA will ever rerelase it?
I wish the video is longer
Can't wait for 2142
You can still play online. It's free. Just search for "bf2hub" on google. See you on the battlefield!
all in me , miss this Game
Ah, taking part in the hail of hand granades... Good times 😁
the question is when will esc do bf heroes
History without mentioning the problems with Patch 1.3(?) who added the vehicle drop to make maps like karkand unplayable because of clipping trough walls with dropped cars seems a bit like bad research, but nice video after all
Wake Island 24/7
I always thought of this game as the spiritual successor to tf2 brotherhood of arms
This game was great mods like project reality were made for it.
Best times
The best just the best Battlefield !
Always love BF2
where did you get the multiplayer footage?
Uncle Jo its not multiplayer, because if it is, there is not enough explosion and the Commander doesnt spam *ENEMY INFANTRY SPOTTED* Every 2 fucking seconds
U can still play it online. Just not on official Servers. But u can an there are many filled servers
9:24 i was always doing that lol
bf2 is best bf game ever made
BF2 is still the best game there is on the field. I remember at the time COD4 came out, it was nothing compared with BF2.
a deja vu on battlefield 5 and cod modern warfare
BF2 is still better than V 1 and 4
JanKaszanka five isn't even out wym
JanKaszanka No it isn’t take off your nostalgia goggles and look at this objectively.
@@finessed4453 we've all seen the gameplay, it's BF1 with skins...
@@sheevinit1490 objectively? The BF2 gameplay is just better.
Titanium Rain
No it definitely doesn’t. The Gameplay does not hold up.
where can i download it?
Ellis Pretty much nowhere anymore. I don't know why they don't sell bf2 anymore. The best you can do is look on Amazon and such.
thanks
Ellis someone on moddb created a remastered version of BF2 thats standalone so you can play it without downloading the original
where can I buy it?
Ram Gilamar Pretty much nowhere anymore. I don't know why they don't sell bf2 anymore. The best you can do is look on Amazon and such.
real unfortunate but thanks
Ram Gilamar You could try to download it at igg. Search 'bf2 igg' on Google, and you'll find it.
I'll take a look at it, thanks
Still playing
One of my best multiplayer experiences ever.
Enlisted July 2015
used to watch the opening all the time and it excited me so much!
The biggest issue for BF2 were crappy hitpoints.
