Overload - Gameplay - Level One

Overload is a 6DOF Shooter, which means it is a shooting game with a total movement freedom.
The first representatives of the genre were Descent, its first 2 installments and the third one that was a little further from the original philosophy of the previous ones and Terminal Velocity, which is another reference, although with a combat much more focused on speed and open spaces, but where fast fighting and combats in closed corridors were present. Later on, the Forsaken title appeared. It is a new version of Descent a little more adapted to the times that were running at that period, being a kind of arena shooter that visually reminded Quake 3 but with flying characters boarding motorcycles. In Forsaken, the tasks of developing a frantic pace of the clashes and the importance of level design to provide a feeling of fluidity to the player were completed.
In a 6DOF Shooter the action comes from all directions and the tactics are not limited to moving horizontally through the maps. The design and verticality of these, the corridors and the columns that refill the open spaces make up a battlefield full of tactical possibilities and full of complex maneuvers to carry out.
Let yourself get surprised by the fluidity of movement that you will not find in other games and enjoy it. Speed, action and fluidity. If you have to make a critic about this title, it would just be the absence of a cooperative mode among the multiple ones that it already has, among which the challenge and the multiplayer modes stands out with a small but faithful community that every night impress those who seek for frantic action and impossible maneuvers.

Overload? This IS Descent. I loved Descent back in the 90s. This game looks awesome. I know this vid is 2 years old, but I didn't know about this game. I'll check it out.

Stupid parent companies being jerks about one ofbthe greatest games ever made. So the devs gave it a new name. And poured all their love into it and it is glorious. It feels exactly like it did then.
