Fantastic video, and conclusion. Philip, I hope you keep making these videos as and when you can
I cannot believe this video has only a couple of likes. This channel is one of the best abd most detailed I've watched. I keep coming back
Great video and great channel. English history is a deep cup for me to drink from. You have my subscription.
If only the audio was just a tiny bit better. Other than that this is fantastic.
Very interesting telling of Thomas Beckett's final days.
Two comments: #1-When Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries, he, supposedly, exhumed Beckett's body and burned it declaring HERE WAS THE BODY OF A TRAITOR.
#2- A legend tells of the monks of Canterbury Cathedral heard about Henry's men approaching the cathedral, and, hid Beckett's body.
After the threat had passed(Henry had died and Mary became queen), no one could remember where Beckett had been buried.
Eventually, it was determined he had been buried under the High Altar, or, just outside the cathedral entrance.
To this day, no one is really sure.✌✌✌✌😖
What happened to the swords?
