Okay but the bit at the very end with the fox statue is adorable and made me smile 😊 **points to Robin Hood** “It’s _you!_ 😃” **pets fox’s head** “You’re _famous!_ 😁”
Thanks so much! Sir Didymus is a great choice too. Animals in medieval folklore are always super interesting, and we're definitely going to be covering more of them in future. Best of luck with your essay!
ik im commenting this on a 3 year old vid, but do you have any recommendations for someone trying to learn as much as possible about Reynard The Fox? :D
Glad you enjoyed it! Many people don't realise that Shakespeare was referencing these stories, it's so interesting to see the impact of these characters over time!
@@lolroflpmsl That would be awesome. We've done some story-telling at shows before and it's always super fun! What would be really interesting is actually acting out some stories. We've been researching medieval folk-theatre, with music and "costumes". If we manage to gather enough research it may well become a future video, but just imagine how cool it would be to perform these stories live in an authentic context!
Thanks for watching! Who's your favourite fictional fox? Comment below!
robin hood
Nick Wilde
Tod the Fox
FOX MCCLOUD
Bellissimo racconto! Grazie

Nice video! Do you have any recommended anthologies or translations if I wanted to read the Reynard stories?
This is brilliant

Great video, man! You've got a future on here, I believe. Well done 👏

These could totally be incorporated into shows...
TV shows or re-enactment shows? Actually never mind, the answer is both!
@@ScholaNormannorum Reenactment shows!

@@ScholaNormannorum Would be totally game for trying that, on top of the mummery I've already dabbled in :P
Do you know of any sources I can read for stories of Reynard?
Reynard was a clever boy 😵
He sure was!
Well done!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Hero. Hero!
Basically these stories were like a medival version of South Park or The Boondocks if they had the aesthetic of Bojack Horseman? Got it.
Interesting
I love the scribe montage
Thank you, it was fun to do!
Ah so that’s why Robin Hood was a Fox!
Wasn’t Raynard kinda evil himself?
Sometimes! That's part of what made him such a fun character, he could play the villain just as often as he did the hero...
prob no more than our favorite anti hero's like Venom.
This story and book was inspired by ancient indian book panchatantra.
