Quick question isn't lightning made from plasma, if so the Skrill could have the same biology as a Nigthfury due to Toothless shooting plasma (or I'm just thinking about this to much)
Eli Pitch your probably correct, night fury eggs require lightning to hatch and lightning is plasma so they could be linked,it could explain why they are so evenly matched but not enough evidence
Hey Eli! The night fury and the skrill are very closely biologically related, and lightning IS a type of plasma, so it's likely they share a lot of similarities biologically on that front. ~ Tim
Hey subfuries! Thanks for all your suggestions for charities to donate to and perks for Patreon last video. Really helps me plan for the future. Love you guys. EDIT: In this video, I say they might have "electrocytes" in the organ that holds lightning. However, electrocytes create electric shocks, not store them. I should have said "a form of electrocyte", as there isn't really a biological thing that allows storage of that kind of energy, but electrocytes are close :) ~ Tim
Metal is not organic how can the Skrill grow metal claws? If dragons can grow metal than why would the Armorwing need to find it instead of evolving to grow some itself?
Imagine how useful dragons like the skrill could be in a modern world like a skrill could probably accompany a team of astronauts to power a spaceship for a long time so long as they have food for it and space which could make space travel easier with less solar energy coming from the sun deeper on. We would also need spacesuits for the dragons but that could probably be made with some good tailoring, but imagine dragons in space.
Well if we bring some chemistry, and some physics, into this, the Skrill's biology gets a little weird. As you established, the Skrill draws electricity from lightning and stores it. This means that some of its exposed structure has to be a conducting metal, and if you take a look at the metal reactivity series, it makes sense for the metal to be copper; however it could very well be iron, as there's a case to be made about more reactive metals to make conducting easier. Now for the Skrill to take in lightning like that, it would have to carry an overall positive charge, so as to attract the negative potential difference of the lightning to it. How the Skrill makes its body positive may involve crude forms of electrostatic induction, whereupon it rubs itself against a more reactive, positively-charged object so as to make itself positively charged, as it will have transferred electrons to the object and neutralised it. I'm not going to bother going into how the Skrill knows what to rub against. Now to store the captured charge, it would have to be made of a good insulator, with better insulating capability than the metal's conducting capability; or it has to have some internal battery. This may mean that a very small portion of the Skrill's body is the conducting metal, and that most of it is actually insulation to capture the charge; or that it has excellent conducting capability and some form of battery. Now because of this storage capability, I'm going to take a leap and say that it also has good magnetic capability. From this, I'm going to go ahead and say that the conducting metal is primarily copper, or potentially a copper-gold, or copper-silver/platinum alloy. Typical conductors are things like plastic, glass, pure water, air, diamond (potentially diamond skeleton???), or quartz. Therefore, I'm going to go ahead and say that if its able to store charge via insulation, then its skeleton may be composed of primarily diamond or quartz; however if it relies on battery powers, then maybe it has these electrocyte organs, positioned against the throat and against the wings/skeletal system.
Something I want to clean up... remember the moment the skrill was about to strike Ruff and Tuff? For a split second, lightning formed around its crown and as it released its electricity, the crown expanded fully... All in all, the skrill does use its thorny crown to aid its attacks, but only for the most powerful ones (as seen as Hiccup and Toothless negate the powerful blast with a plasma blast, sending everyone in the area array directions)
@Hello Future Me can you do a battle video on the skrill and night furry? it sounds intresting with the nightfurry being the "unholy offspring of lightning and death itself" while the skrill is the ultimate lightning based dragon
And also Hello Future Me which if Toothless can shoot Plasma and lightnigs made of plasma is it possible that the skrill could learn to shoot plasma blasts like toothless?
"Don't play with electricity. Unless your planning to burn your enemies-then it's morally okay..." this is definitely going on my list of deathly oaths which i base my life on. Thx bro, CYA
I am one the first 100 subfuries (before we were called subfuries)! Your videos are amazing! I hope you continue to make new theories and grow in popularity because everyone deserves to see your videos! Thank you for all you do and ALL HAIL MISHKA! ~Subfury Savannah
I'm thinking maybe the skrill has a natural electricity proof (If that's a thing) lining for it's organs so the electricity doesn't fry the skrill from the inside out
I think every time there a storm it somehow absorb a lot of the electricity from the storm then shoots it out. And somehow, when it's in water, the lighting gets disabled
They just grow more, like they replace scales or how Sharks lose and grow teeth throughout their lives. An animal has something it can lose and replaces it. A Nadder growing new spikes is like a porcupine growing quills after sticking some in a predator it is how they evolved
Being a subfury to me this far is being a lover of this wonserful, insightful, creative world we call Dragons! Now let us thrive together and apart. From now until the end.
I think the places that charge lighnings are made out of a special organic material that works kinda like metal, but it isnt as heavy, plus Skrills can control the ability to charge lightnings from clouds And I heard a theory that they create lower pressure in front of them when they fly using lighnings, making them fly faster
the skrill doesn't shock itself due to its ability to harness the lightning. The electricity flows through its body, which has grown to NEED that lightning. which is why it can only be found within extreme storms.
New dragon species idea for HTTYD3: You know when you drink loads of fizzy soda and you burp but it burns your nostrils? There should be a dragon that breathes fire that way. xD
Pokeshipping FTW they actually don't, I'm not completely sure what they are called, maybe oxygen/acetylene blasts, but hiccup calls it plasma blasts because it seems similar to plasma.
I don’t know if the Skrill would have metal for its veins. Perhaps it has some other conductor? If you think about a human, we are conductors of electricity, for the most part. What if the Skrill has whatever we have that conducts electricity, only amplified? As for why it doesn’t shock itself, it could just be that it does get shocked, but it has an extremely high electrical tolerance, and its organs and body functions are strong enough to withstand the currants. Or, it could just be that it’s skin is made of some sort of rubber-like substance that acts as an insulator. This is just a thought. Great video!
You say it's conductive ability is derived from metallic body parts, but wouldn't graphite make more sense? It's a great conductor, it's made out of carbon, which makes sense because most organic materials are for a good part as well, and on top of that it's very light, thus allowing the skrill to fly very fast.
can you imagine some kind of night fury/skrill hybrid they do seem to have similar features which could mean they are closely related possibly close enough to breed, a bit like how tigers and lions can interbreed. just an interesting thought
hey great video i have been wondering if there will be more episodes of the series of how to train your dragon i love the series and the movies pls replie
Hello I know this is possibly a really old video but I would like to voice my opinion on why the Skrill doesn't use its back crown spikes maybe it's because it's located so close to the skull that It will be lethal when lightning strikes a human our muscles contract and lock so I'm thinking the reason why he doesn't do it is because if he does it his esophagus will tighten up and suffocate him another reason being the fact that it's attached to his head and possibly part of a skull it could possibly fry his brain killing it on the spot so those are probably the reasons why the squirrel never uses its crown spikes to charge up its electric attacks
Hey Tim, I'm pretty sure I see the map of Westeros and Essos in the background, and the Iron Throne, and maybe even a tiny Ned Stark... Have you ever thought about making a Game of Thrones video? Also, loved the video.
Hey Tim I have 4 httyd topics I really want you to talk about 1-why is toothless' tail fin so vital to his flight if vodkas stormcutter, cloud jumpers tail gets frozen and he's still able to fly fine 2-how does the four wings effect a stormcutters flight 3-could cloud jumper have rembered hiccup in httyd 2 from when they interacted when hiccup was a baby 4-in the wild how could a night fury activate the spikes vodka activates on toothless in httyd 2 without a person since they can't reach their backs
at such high voltages, you would need a very very thick layer of rubber, and it wouldn't need rubber if a conductive path is laid out for the electricity it will follow that path.
Who do you think the dragon hunters that capture dagur and hiccup in RTTE work for. They talk about Vigo but go to brand hiccup with drago's symbol in the same way eret is branded
you mentioned that all dragons look like another because they descended from the same group of dragons also do you think that the skrill is related to the snow raith because they both control the elements sorta
It's basically a taser with a lightning rod
Chengyong Liao the real taser is the seashocker.
Ryan Wolver XD yeah
Chengyong Liao you say that like it’s not fucking dope
Yea i MASIVE taser and its very cool says my son
Police:WE NEED THAT
Skrills are one of my favourite dragon
I have been here from 500 subscribers u da best tim
All hail mishkia
Edit: thanks for the support
Manraj Saini i wish i was here earlier
Manraj Saini mine too but I just don't know why their eyes are so close to the end of its snout... idk...
Manraj Saini mine is a close call between the skrill and the triple styke
Was here since 125 subs
The Skrill is my favorite dragon.😎
SPEED KING RACER Yup
It's my 2nd behind the changwing as camoflauge is dope
same it’s goat status
3rd for me, 2nd is storm cutter (because there so freaking cute), and 1 is death song
Jonathan Sim I love Lightning too!

Eli Pitch omg I thought that too I watched a video about plasma and thought of this
Maybe they’re close relatives
As far as I understand it, lightning is so much electricity running through the same path that it turns the air around it to plasma. So, kind of? ^^;

Hello Future Me Good job
Hello Future Me Can you do a video on how the SeaShocker shoots out lightning?
Hello Future Me I love your channel ,I fell in love with your when I found out you did how to train your dragon videos
Metal is not organic how can the Skrill grow metal claws? If dragons can grow metal than why would the Armorwing need to find it instead of evolving to grow some itself?
Hello Future Me Can you talk about why speed stingers evolved to have no wings and could it be a relative to a triple strike?
I can't believe Viggo tamed the Skrill with a dagger.
Spoon more likes it

I wonder how things would have gone if hiccup found and trained the skrill instead of toothless that would be interesting to see.
I Love The Skrill It's My Favorite Dragon, I even bought a action figure of it of eBay for 90$
Poop Shoop wait you paid 90$
Poop Shoop What a waste of 90$ just for a children’s movie...
Yvonne Dewick ever heard of collectibles?
randomuser yah your right
Thanks for this great video Tim! Keep up the good work. Looking forward to part 2.
"Don't play with electricity. Unless your planning to burn your enemies-then it's morally okay..." this is definitely going on my list of deathly oaths which i base my life on. Thx bro, CYA
Your channel is really growing fast!!!
E.D.L. COOL it'll grow even faster when HTTYD3 gets nearer

when are you going to do another dragon tournament
I'm thinking maybe the skrill has a natural electricity proof (If that's a thing) lining for it's organs so the electricity doesn't fry the skrill from the inside out
That episode made me love the skrill i can't wait to see it in the future
Another great video please keep makeing more videos.
"it redirects the lightning" iroh, is that you in dragon costume?
Im so happy when you upload
Nawwwww
I think every time there a storm it somehow absorb a lot of the electricity from the storm then shoots it out. And somehow, when it's in water, the lighting gets disabled
The skrill recharges itself by chasing storms to absorb lightning bolts
In a future video can you do one figuring out were deadly nadders spikes come from and if they can run out?
They just grow more, like they replace scales or how Sharks lose and grow teeth throughout their lives. An animal has something it can lose and replaces it. A Nadder growing new spikes is like a porcupine growing quills after sticking some in a predator it is how they evolved
My favorite dragon is the skrill.thanks for doing this video btw.
oh, this outta be good to correct his mistakes on Dragon facts.
never mind you actually were not all that far off
Ahhhhh, thank you so much, Tim! And thank you to the Subfuries - you guys truly are a home away from home. Love you all ❤️❤️❤️
#ALLHAILMISHKA
All hail the memory of Supreme Overlord Mishka! He may have ascended beyond our plane, but we the Subfuries shall forever remember. 🥲
Is it just me or when you here toe to toe you think of the dragons having a sleepover and sleeping toe to toe in a bed😂
Being a subfury to me this far is being a lover of this wonserful, insightful, creative world we call Dragons! Now let us thrive together and apart. From now until the end.

Dang no dislikes yet he really has become a better youtuber
You should make a breakdown video to the RTTE Teaser.
My favourite theory so far, very interesting
Night furies shoot plasma which is what lightning is made out of so what about them
Pokeshipping FTW they actually don't, I'm not completely sure what they are called, maybe oxygen/acetylene blasts, but hiccup calls it plasma blasts because it seems similar to plasma.

You have earned my sub.
Also, that dragon's name shouldve been "son of odin"
OMG what if the subfury t-shirt had Tim's quotes on the back?! XD
I love your videos!!!
Behold the flying lightning rod which is used as a mobile tazer.
I wish they would make a new series like race to the edge and it be what happened between dragons 2 & 3
can you imagine some kind of night fury/skrill hybrid they do seem to have similar features which could mean they are closely related possibly close enough to breed, a bit like how tigers and lions can interbreed. just an interesting thought

ALL HAIL MISHKA LONG LIVE MISHKA
I just relized that a Skrull is like if Zeus was a dragon.
I friggin'oove the skrill
Tim how do i become a Patreon if i'm from England?
Wait a minute doesn’t the crown of horns look like the ones deadly nadders have?
The Biting Wolf123 yeah! It sends like there a possibility that they're very distantly related
Hello!
Where do I find the movie at 3:25? Sorry for bad english.
your jokes are hysterical.
Please please please make another video on the skrill or maybe on if you could cross breed dragons.
luv your vids!
Hey Tim, I'm pretty sure I see the map of Westeros and Essos in the background, and the Iron Throne, and maybe even a tiny Ned Stark... Have you ever thought about making a Game of Thrones video?
Also, loved the video.
Skrills=giant winged tazers
I love skrills
Please do adventure time theory, that would be awesome :D
The Skrill would be my Dragon if I was in the world of How to train your dragon
Hey Tim I have 4 httyd topics I really want you to talk about 1-why is toothless' tail fin so vital to his flight if vodkas stormcutter, cloud jumpers tail gets frozen and he's still able to fly fine 2-how does the four wings effect a stormcutters flight 3-could cloud jumper have rembered hiccup in httyd 2 from when they interacted when hiccup was a baby 4-in the wild how could a night fury activate the spikes vodka activates on toothless in httyd 2 without a person since they can't reach their backs
would the skrill have some kind of rubber like substance in a sack that connects to the mouth that holds the lightning
All hail lord MISHKA may he forever more be beautiful glorious and eternally powerful
Dang Brianna, that was good. ALL HAIL MISHKA
Can the next dragon tournament be the red death Vs the bewilderbeast
I love your vids
Can u make a video about how does razor whip grown it's blade
finally a video about my fav dragon ! (don't worry I have more fav dragons) is that a dream?? cuz I just saw the Skrill and Dagur :,D??
Hey Tim, what's your favorite song?
Hey can you do a video on the triple stryke and the speed stinger
The skrill needs to come back in season 6
My favorite Dragons:
1. DEATHSONG
2. Skrill
3. Hobblegrunt
4. Razorwhip
5. Triple Stryke
Fantastic video ;)
Thanks :D
What if the Skrll having a rubber like skin for the electricity to move around its body?🤔
at such high voltages, you would need a very very thick layer of rubber, and it wouldn't need rubber if a conductive path is laid out for the electricity it will follow that path.
Skrills can also obliterate the blasts of the Cingetails.
The skrill doesn't just shoot lightning
The skrill IS LIGHTNING
Can you make a video about the smoldering smokebreath
I really wish there was some to theory about the screaming death because I am the only one who seems to like that dragon
Maybe the scales itself were made of a metallic substance that conduct and release lightning
Who do you think the dragon hunters that capture dagur and hiccup in RTTE work for. They talk about Vigo but go to brand hiccup with drago's symbol in the same way eret is branded
Toothless does this in the 3 movie and flys without hiccup even without the fake tail
In the Netflix show book of dragon it says it breaths white fire but in the show dragons it shoots lighting
you should put the subfury description on the back of the official shirt!
What dragons would be most suited for a war?
I like the catastrophic quaken
Everybody give a thumbs up for this video 👍
you mentioned that all dragons look like another because they descended from the same group of dragons also do you think that the skrill is related to the snow raith because they both control the elements sorta
The skrill is my favorite dragon
Can u do a vid on why Smothering Smokebreathes collect metal ?
I think that the skrill ate iron rich food as part of its diet
Can U do a How A night Fury Shoots Plasma And then Do a video on Which dragon has the most Powerful blast's
Night Fury good idea, with enough research i could draw out a theory but thats tims job :)
Do a video on the sand wraith
