Personally I think that a diving strike from an alpha nightfurry would do much more than knock the red death over because we see toothless in alpha mode blast the bewildabeasts tusk off in one still shot

I think that the alpha night fury would win. The red death treats dragons like slaves, while a night fury treats them as family (at least Toothless does) so the night fury would probably be able to get dragons on it's side to fight the red death. Plus, night fury's time their fire. We saw Toothless perfectly time when to fire at the terrible terror so the fire explodes in it's body, and it did the same thing with the red death. It's only the matter of time before the alpha night fury fires into the red deaths mouth and kills it from the inside

SPOILERS INCOMING:
So, now we know that Toothless can use lightnings to make himself invisible for a short time
This is a huge advantage
In the 1st movie when Toothless hid in the cloud the Red Death couldn't do anything other than fire everywhere randomly
This tactic worked in the 1st movie but that was because Toothless' tail was flammable
A regular nigh fury tail isn't, so the fire would do almost no damage even if it hit the night fury
So the alpha night fury wouldn't be able to hide too well in the clouds if it was glowing (which it probably would do), unless there was a lightning storm which would help it blend in
But it can disappeared in mid day if it wants to, it doesn't need to hide in the clouds or darkness
And this doesn't require there to be a lightning storm since, from what I remember (correct me if I'm wrong) in the final battle Toothless used it when there wasn't a storm (he did harvest the lightning from the clouds, but there wasn't a storm going on, so I guess they can do it any time)
And in that same battle we see that the explosion that the blast causes is very powerful, powerful enough to knock out multiple strong dragons
Also, the red death's fire did almost no damage to Toothless in the first movie. All it did was set it's fake tail that's made of fabric on fire. The night fury's scales are completely fireproof. The red death couldn't do much damage

Dragons a fire proof ( at least on the outside ) and it would probably be easy to land a shot inside the red deaths mouth especially since the alpha night fury's blasts are so explosive. But it would probably be really hard to kill the alpha night fury from far away

Here’s an idea: the Night Fury does its dive-bomb attack, the Red Death hears it coming and tries to suck it into its mouth. The Night Fury is surprised, but recovers and turns the Red Death’s strategy against it, firing into the Red Death’s open mouth, which, as we saw in the first movie, is fatal.
S Mayo that vmwas BECAUSE its mouth had flamable gas in it . But still, R.D.s throat would hurt a lot. Heck it might also explode and a buch of bloody flesh will rain
It felt like you kinda hyped up the read death a bit. Yes it's strong but toothless A. was able to damage a bewildabeast and B. usually held back a little in the shows and movies and i feel a wild nightfury wouldn't do so

He did seem to use head canon as to what he thinks the red death should be at. He was almost doubling most, if not all, of its stats

mike maier yeah I definitely got that impression. If the red deaths wins I won't be surprised. I mean most dragon with doubled stats should be almost unstoppable.
Well, if the night fury wasn't an alpha, the Red Death would have won. Since we've never encountered another night fury, it would be Toothless, giving him the disadvantage of fire. Toothless only won against the red death because it was old and toothless is smarter. The alpha night fury wouldn't stand a chance against a young Red Death.
That's my opinion, so don't judge me 😦

I think he gave way too much of a boost to the red death's youth. He almost doubled a lot of the stats, including firepower, which, I don't think would diminish much with age.

There are two types of countries in this world:

As an engineer, I love the metric system and do not understand why the US persists with the imperial system. That said, the above statement remains true.

The Alpha Night Fury could have beaten the bewilderbeast with or without the whole pack of dragons. What are the odds that the Red Death will last long.
Theres no proof and honestly there’s actually evidence against that toothless had backup from HUNDREDS of extra dragons and the belwilderbeast had barley any wounds besides losing a tusk lmao

you can see toothless fire from a greater distance in race to the edge season 5 ep: 3 he fires from something between a 100 en 300 meters away( it was not 100% clear how far)

I think alpha night fury because if a normal night fury can beat an “old” red death then an alpha night fury can beat a normal red death
Chemistry is my favorite subject, every teacher and professor I had in it has been crazy and a joy to be around. You can do so many cool things with chemicals and elements. You’ll never be bored.
That feeling when no one realizes that the red deaths fire did absolutely nothing to toothless in the movie, making an alpha nightfury (which shrug off bewilderbeast ice blasts like nothing) wouldnt even care about the fire. Compare to what a nightfury's fire blast has done to stronger foes like the bewilderbeast, which was in its prime and even stronger due to training by dragging gaint ships around while underwater, a good blast would cripple a red death. Lastly, speed doesnt mean attack speed, but just how fast they can get from point a to point b. The red death's attacks were so slow, that even the vikings could easily react and avoid its massive body. And again, a nightfury, as shown in toothless vs bewilderbeast, an alpha nightfury could easily stay close up while not getting hit at all.
Two more things, the red death didnt detect toothless because of his scent but because of hiccup and astrid. And there is nothing to suggest (in movies and shows) that the red death is nearly as smart as a nightfury

Your forgetting the night fury’s beserk mode, like when toothless fights the triple stryke and his vision goes red, we dont see what he could have done after that as hiccup stopped him, but I think that that may be an important variable.
Also, the night fury could land on the red death’s face and crawl in a line burning its eyes out with the jet we see toothless warming his sleeping area with, just saying

In the second movie you can see Toothless doing considerable damage to Drago's Bewildebeast who has a higher armor score than the Red Death.
He had hundreds of dragons helping him and just knocked off a tusk
But this night fury is not Toothless
Can you do a dragon biology on whether momentum effects power of shots like when in the fight with the red death he could tip it over.

Hm... I've been out of school for a few years now, pursuing a college course in mechanics but my favourite class was always science, especially biology. I just find it so interesting to see the inner workings of living things. And the inner workings of not-living things, too!
Science is my favorite subject at school because it includes living things and space and all other interesting facts that I enjoy

Music. I used to feel pretty "meh" towards all my classes, but after a while, I started to really like music. I took up the trumpet in sixth grade, because I liked listening to music, but I wasn't particularly invested in the class. However, to make a long, long story short, I kept getting put back in music classes, and eventually I started really loving music. Now I'm in college to become a music teacher, because I want to teach other people like me just how great music is.
My favorite subject in school is world civ because it helps me hone my skills on how to properly take over the world (even if it is impossible it would be quite fun) next would have to be english because its helped me become a better writer and i get to have fun with laughing about and making references to old stories that we talk about. Just a quick little theory for you to cover is that toothless’s whistling noise comes from him charging is fire ball the longer he charges the bigger the explosion there are many scenes in HTTYD race to the edge that confirm this. This is true because we see toothless dive all the time but only when he is going to fire do we hear the sound. In addition the sound could be his echolocation that he could use before the dive then he follows the sound waves down so he always gets a perfect shot the dive bomb is just to make himself harder to hit and carry more momentum through the strike sho he can get away quickly. Just a thought tho

Personally I think the Red Death's Attack should be more like 40-45 and it's firepower would be about 30-35 or somewhere in that range when in it's prime.
P.S. when Valka (hiccup's mom) said all dragons have there queen but this (the bewilderbeast) is the king I liked think that she was referring to the red death and dragons like it as a queen dragon

I know this isn't a HTTYD related question but I'm really puzzled as to how in Avatar and Legend of Korra only some (one or two as I've seen) can sense if someone is lying or not. Has it got something to do with bending or is it a chance of fate? I would love to see this theory because you really have solved every theory that has come your way so far. Love the way you do the theories so please pleaaaaaase try to do this. YOU'RE AMAZING!!!
Hey Sean! I love questions about any of the fandoms I talk about. Off the top of my head, bending is... more complex than people think. Think of it like art. In fact, it's often compared to an art (even earth-bending, which is arguably the least creative and most formulaic). Aiwei and Toph (the only two lie-detectors we know of) simply had a very acute ability to detect heartbeats, muscle tension, and so on. It's possible that it's a matter of (a) being finely tuned enough to detect it (which requires a lot of skill), but also (b) having the ability to *interpret* what they can sense in others. Either of these things could be a natural gift or learned skill. Hard to know, but given the implication is that Toph learned it *because* of the method she learned her earthbending (something learned, not genetic), I would think it is merely a very very very rare skill that people *can* learn if they really try.

Hello Future me I have a theory: so in the first HTTYD movie we see the real power of toothless' shots when he destroys the catapult and in the fight between the red death and toothless. Then why are his shots less powerful in the TV shows? Do you think that when a dragon is Tamed it loses some of its hunting abilities and fighting skills?
Zippy DaFish probably just holding back. Especially since the only times that they have considered killing their opponents are before Hiccup meets Toothless and the Red Death.

Haha... my hair is my signature look. As for audio - yeah, this is my first video with my new gopro (which doesn't have the best audio) and I'm getting a mic for it soon. But if you're comparing it to my V for Vendetta video, that was done on my Yeti mic (a far better piece of tech), and the audio was edited. Fixing it soon!

This is most certanly intresting. I think (thus far) its the night fury. If its movie 2 toothless for he would have way more knowledge of combat. However if this is a first encounter then its very close, due to the learning curve

What is the large shadow wing and the submaripper are actually related, because their abilities are pretty mutch the same. What if there ones was one dragon they split in two different groups. The submaripper became a tidel class dragon and the large shadow wing a strike class(?)

Ok so in the last episode of RTTE Johann says heathers lens can help them locate the “king of dragons” AKA the Bewilderbeast. We have seen Krogan and Drago work together before so what if The bewilderbeast they are looking for will be used for dragos dragon army in httyd. What if the very last episode of rtte if just hiccup not being able to stop Drago from taking the baby bewilderbeast ( because you said in another video Drago must have trained it from since it was a baby) this was just a random theory. So yeah :D
