Can I point out that in Viking mythology (Berk and all this is based on Vikings), dragons couldn't fly at all. It makes more sense for dragons to run, or fly short distances, then for most dragons to be able to fly for a long ways.
Here is a theory what you can think about! What did sigvard do in the vanaheim, what else did he study there than the hunter dragons and how did he eventually end up there?
Hey Tim, I have a question for you (or any commenter reading this); When Korra and Raava were separated, all the past Avatars seemed to have disappeared. Does this mean that when Korra and Raava reconnected, Korra effectively started a new Avatar cycle? If so, does this mean that all the past Avatars are now gone forever or are they now no longer Avatar Spirits and now just hanging out in whatever afterlife exists in the Avatar Universe?

They probably developed a habit of running from predators, or after prey, by diving into water. As this became more pronounced they would have started to develop webbed feet for swimming. And then eventually the webbing reached a point where, at the speeds they move, they ran across it instead of diving Into it. Or you could ask a basalisk lizard.

I definently belive that they could fly, in the past, and then evolved to inhabit the niche of velociraptor and such creatures. The best colour is orange. This is because the sun, witch gives life to all, is orange, as well the fact that oranges are orange. I also like that it is more mellow than red, brighter than yellow, and is a combination of the two. The only thing I don't like about orange is that trump is the colour. Sorry about the joke (I realize some people might se it like that), but I had to come up with some sort drawback

I was referring to g-force, it's pretty much an equation measuring the force of gravity or acceleration acting on a moving body, basically the perception of added weight or weightlessness from moving and turning really fast. If you've ever been on a carnival or roller coaster ride, you've likely felt some g-force from the feeling of it throwing you 'into' the curve. If you experience enough g-force, it can force blood away from your brain and cause you to pass out (usually about 5-9 g's). Fighter pilots can pull around 9 g's when preforming aerial maneuvers, (much like the ones we see Toothless do; sharp turns, steep dives, etc.) to keep from passing out, pilots can train to withstand pulling these g's without passing out, but they usually use a "g-suit" to compensate. I hope my explanation was helpful. The Wikipedia article is actually pretty thorough in explaining how g-force works if you'd like to read it. I hope that answers your question.

I think they would of evolved from a previously small wingless dragon such as one that lived in the sea where being streamlined is much more important. They probably left the water do to over compitition like thunderdrums and other similar dragons

I had thought that in the first movie of how to train your dragon, Hiccoup said that the village of berke was in a harsh winter for 9 months out of the year? So Berke itself is not 'warm' but I can imagine the archipeligo as being farther south in warmer climates.

But velociraptors a very small, AMBUSH, feathered Dromaeosaurid, not a fast attack predator.

Speed stingers are my favorite dragons
I had thought that in the first movie of how to train your dragon, Hiccoup said that the village of berke was in a harsh winter for 9 months out of the year? So Berke itself is not 'warm' but I can imagine the archipeligo as being farther south in warmer climates.
I wonder if some where in the how to train your dragon world is their a possibly that their could be or used to be more dragons with a similar body type to the speed stinger ?
