Eren just mind-fucking himself thinking about what his father saw through Eren's memories, watching his father watch his own memories of what's going to happen, some kind of Gold Experience Requiem type of mind-fuckery bullshit.
Dude I got goosebumps when I heard him say that like damn bro you really went from wanting to kill all the titans to wanting to kill every single living thing on the planet
Honestly he didn’t change up what he said in the beginning is still aimed at the same people it’s just now a different perspective since we know what they really are
in the manga its portrayed just like that, even to the point it makes u wonder, if those words where actually from a little kid Eren after his mom got eaten or if it was older Eren gasing him up even at that point, also like more the other subs i haven seen when he says, ill kill them all ! every last one of those animals.
Historia calling herself “the worst girl in the world” for rejecting her fathers wishes and leaving the future in Eren’s hands before she unshackled him in the Reiss cave. Eren was just calling back to her words in that scene. btw nice hair sheera love it!
The saddest part to me, is when Eren asks Mikasa what he is to her, him already knowing the answer but desperately wanting it to be different. Also, this episode surpassed the manga - it was amazing.
@@VanLianTheOne he knows what mikasa feels for him, but wanted to ask anyway, just like he asked about sasha last words to see if the future he saw cant change
@@VanLianTheOne yes he does he knows everything and the outcome he knows how it ends, like his dad said to Zeke he's going to get what he wants regardless....
@@alexchery44 he does not know everything, that is a common misconception. When Eren kissed Historia’s hand, he got the memories from his father, which future eren had sent to Grisha, so eren knew only what Grisha knew at the time, not everything.
Marianna Trench is 11,000m deep. To put in perspective, even Mt. Everest is 8850m high. Of course there would be variations in our world and the world of AOT. But it would have been a colossal mistake to make the titans walk, because then their mobility would be too slow. I was actually thinking this although out last week- How will they show 50m titans traverse in the ocean?🤣🤣🤣
@@penguinofdoom9830 oh riiight. Honestly that fact slipped my mind due to the sheer size they were coming out of the walls. I was just in shock of the entirety of it all.
@@Yourmama.69yrsago hahaha lol indeed. The entire time I was confident they were walking cause if the steam. But thanks btw for reminding me of that fact. It proves we still have a long ways to go regarding exploration.
"you're the baddest girl in the world" is actually just a really shitty translation, what he was actually referencing is her "I'm the worst girl in the world" speech after her choice in the cave that saved eren
i watched the ep on netflix and for the first time they did their translation right. they actually translated it to “you’re the worst girl in the world.”
Want to clarify something, Eren did have Shiganshina evacuation, but becuase he had to trick zeke AND yelena he couldn't get complete control of the government and evac the other cities without seeming suspicious.
Yes, and remember as Hitch mentioned no one in the rest of Paradis knew yet that Shiganshina was under attack and Eren nearly died. I'm 100% sure they'd be more understanding of why they didn't get a warning once they find out that Eren didn't drop the walls on a whim but because he had his head blown off and had to use the founder's powers immediately.
14:43: “Y’all better stay alive” lmfao, bro that was literally the exact same reaction I had. Told everyone “if I die before I see the end of part 3 I’m gonna be mad af” haha
The thing people forgot or just don't want to accept, is that Eren was screaming for help, in finding an alternate solution ever since he kissed Historia's hand. He waited for so long cause its not like he wanted Rumbling to begin with. It's because he waited till a single one proposed a viable solution, last season he asked Armin if theres other options while they were practice shooting after capturing first Marleyan fleet, He asked and told Hange give me an alternate solution when he was in a cell, we can see how frustrated and helpless he feels knowing the future while finding an alternative solution to stop it, they talked about peace talks as an option, he ended up trusting them and waited till that moment, and he then knew, peace was never an option in the current system. Peace talks was not an option if not everyone is willing to. And considering he sees the future, his question to Mikasa was both a confirmation that what his future self did was happening as what he saw and to have reasons to see if the future can be changed. No one was able to give this young adult a concrete answer, solution, alternative. He knows what he's doing is wrong. From the opening and ending of the season: "I never wanted to grab the knife" "This world is cruel but i still love you" "Even if i sacrfice everything, i will protect you" "Don't doubt if its a mistake, correctnes means believing in yourself".😔
Like literally every option has been exhausted for eren. Peace talks with Marley? Oh Marley won't negotiate unless you're a superpower yourself. How long will that take? So long that historia will have to become a titan to keep the founding titan in paradis' possession because you wouldve died already and doom historia to a shortened life. Maybe try to stall anyway? Well Marley needs the natural resources in Paradis to modernize their military since the other nations are developing good anti-titan weapons so they gonna invade anyway. Just say fuck it and surrender? Yeah and force armin and the others to life inside the concentration camps where little girls get mauled to death by dogs just because they went outside. Eren who values freedom over just about everything, literally the reason he wanted to join the scouts as a child even before the walls broke down, would definitely let that happen to his friends. Nah man. Eren gave the world every chance to end this shit peacefully and the world said no.
i think an important thing to note about this episode was eren’s self-loathing. he cried because of the terrible things he had to do and the monster he would become, but also when he asks zeke why mikasa is so bonded to him. he couldn’t believe that someone would actually love him as much as mikasa does, so he resorted to some absurd theories about genetic infatuation.
He wants Mikasa to move on from him. That's why he pointed out that he only has 4 years to live. He loves Mikasa but believes he is the reason for her unhappiness.
Adam Vialpando yes exactly it’s tragic how little he’s always thought of himself, even after mikasa confessed that he’s who taught her to live with purpose and fight for herself.
It might be a sub thing but what got me was when Mikasa asked if something happened and Eren said not yet. I think he was seeing the moment the rumbling was crushing Liberia. This is just outside the city and seems to be a refugee camp. Meaning they probably arent going to have the same opportunities to evacuate like the marleyans and even the eldians in their part of the city.
@@adamvialpando106 Which is basically why Eremika in a way doesn’t work, because would Mikasa really approve of him doing this? Mikasa herself was already questioning it, and it didn’t help with everyone around her asking her of what she’s going to do. Mikasa really wouldn’t be happy to be with someone who murdered millions of innocent people. Don’t get me wrong, I go crazy every-time I see them. I love the ship! I was screaming my head off when I finally get to see that scene where he asks her what he is to her. But thinking deeply and thinking about the show, it wouldn’t work at all. Maybe it would if Eren lived in a world where this whole Titan bs wasn’t a thing. But yeah, those are my thoughts.
the way I interpreted that seen was eren remembering how it felt to have your family destroyed as a innocent child and now his inflicting it to others. eren already stated to reiner that this was no longer about revenge during the declaration of war so it surprises me how many people still think his angry about the death of his mother don't get me wrong he is probably still angry and traumatized but that isn't his primary motivation.
@@creeperkingdom3190 I mean I do think the death of his mom really did set the ball rolling but I agree with you. He's ALWAYS been all about freedom but the death of his mom was what made the difference between someone like Levi or Hange or Armin vs himself. It stopped being about revenge as he grew older but it became worse. It was that insanely dedicated Eren that would do anything to slay all titans + the young Eren who wanted freedom for the people of Paradis. This combo morphed into the terrifying Eren we see now and boy, that's something.
I like how Lupa was screaming at the mountain of Eren's form but then went into cold silence when the horror that was Eren's face was finally shown. Truly spine-chilling.
Man I'm so glad they left this season off on Erens perspective. He's truly at a road of no choice and no one else to walk it. Not justified, but understood. The Rumbling arriving is a crazy cinematic shot to prep up the next season.
@@kairum11 yeah that was my thought too when I read that in the manga but I just stopped rooting for anyone because it's tiring to justify why you side with anyone on this show. I don't agree with the genocide but I understand why he did this.
@@kairum11 Lmao mass genocide is never justifiable, I dont understand how people take sides in this story. Its like if Jewish people nuked the entire world because of the Axis threatening to exterminate them or some garbage. Just because hes the main character doesn't mean that stomping and burning off the skin of innocent women and children is justified
You can only imagine how much pain Eren went through. Not only did he have to hide from everyone that he’d have to rumble the world, but he understands that there are innocents amongst the lives he will take and he has to bear the burden of killing them alone. His life has just been a ton of pain since kissing Historia’s hand.
Yea but saying he had to is wrong tho, they had the 50 year plan to do, it wouldn’t have endure 100% that paradise would survive but u say it like someone told eren to push a button of whether to kill the whole world or don’t and die when I’m reality it was a lot more complicated
@@lilmupp875 the 50 year plan requires sacrficing historia and having her children eat her which eren says multiple times he's not okay with. And also he'd be sacrificing historia without a guarantee of survival
I think you guys missed the point of the ice cream scene, everyone was excited except Eren, because he already saw all of that, he was already spoiled of everything
Like honestly, they gotta stop throwing us for loops and just be honest. 2 parts in a season makes sense, three is just pushing it for the sake of the "clout" that is the word "final." But the anime is lit so that's my only complaint.
16:43 what a lot of people don’t realize is that eren didn’t intentionally let the the wall debris from the rumbling hurt the civilians, eren was literally rushed to use the rumbling because of marleys surprise attack, he had already evacuated shigansina and I think it’s fair to assume he would have evacuated the other wall aswell but bc he was literally fighting a life or death battle he was forced to use the founding titans power right there, you can’t really blame eren for that, It was literally a do or die situation
Once Eren gained the power of the Founding Titan, there was absolutely nothing anyone in Shiganshina could have done to hurt him in that gigantic form. There's literally no reason why he wouldn't have been able to release the walls in Shiganshina and wait like 30 minutes to release the rest of the walls. At the end of the day, Eren was never concern with the people outside the walls or inside the walls. He only cared about his friends.
Yeah but he also was well aware of when the Marley soldiers would attack. At that point, he was aware the majority of Paradis was on his side so if he was like "Ayo, y'all need to move from dem walls...", it'd be a different story. He chose to act as he did and it had consequences. I'd dare say he genuinely just didn't know/care. He made sure HIS friends were okay and then bounced.
fun fact : erens line in the end is the same thing he was saying back in season 1 when he first transformed into a titan. he went from saying he'll kill them all (referring to the titans) to now, saying it to humans outside the walls
" to rise above monsters we have to abandon our humanity" Eren: “I swore to kill them all, every last one. Right or wrong it doesn't matter anymore consequences be damned. because it is a cruel world.” This was in the cards since season one. The same song was used during Erens transformation at this point too when he fights Annie at the end. Then you tie it to Miskais response " The world is cruel and merciless, but it is also very beautiful" Erens responses to that end the end song " the world is cruel but I still love you"
16:38, I agree with her, people did die, but you have to take into consideration that Marley caught them off guard, and surprised attacked them, the rumbling could have been unleashed with zero casualties in Paradis, if it wasn’t for the invasion of Marley, that forced Eren to activate it so abruptly.
What a sad and goated episode! From the music, to seeing what Eren was going through while on Marley, to his resolve to injure himself, and the founding titan looking like a whole continent. Mappa's animation is so epic. Looking forward to the final season
9:45 "So he knew everything." Yet in the previous episodes, some of people said that he was lying about him knowing the whole rumbling's plan. Say what you want about Floch, but he never tell lies since the ceremony of their comrades after the Fight of Return to Shiganshina

7:29 This is THE question. It's debated that if Mikasa answered differently...If she told Erin that she loved him, she could have changed the course of the events to come. I'm glad they included this from the manga.
I think he wanted her to answer differently because of what he was going to do. She's the closest person on the planet to Erin, and he wanted her to no longer love him because he was going to become the demon that will kill everyone

Attack on Titan the only show to really make you empathize with a character who is creating an extinction-level event. It's amazing the lengths Isayama has gone to really make us understand his character. You may not agree with him but you have to respect his character.
Big agree. I fucking despise Floch, for example... But goddamn I give him my absolute respect. He legitimately does want the best for Paradis. His death was what truly made me admire his character. If he just was yelling for everyone else to go stop the Scouts, I'd wouldn't care but the fact that he fucking ZOOMS over to stop them on his own made me respect him. Homie literally was reaching Levi amounts of badassry. Eren's the same for me. I disagree with what he's doing (to an extent) but he truly did think it out. He hesitated and tried his best to hope the world would listen to him. He even seemed to question himself when he went to Reiner. And even now, he seems to feel some kind of remorse/regret. But in the end, he stuck to the goal. He literally was a mix of the young Eren who wanted freedom and the violent Eren who would do ANYTHING to achieve his goal (for example, killing all Titans).
Which is why the manga ending is so fucking shit. It completely throws away all the amazing development and writing thus far, as if it was written by a rank amateur.
@@Un1234l SPOILERS BELOW KINDA It just makes it clear Eren was right. And the horrifying fact that everything is just going to happen again. His conversation made me realize Eren will most likely just wipe everyones memories after so they forget what exactly happen. So they will rebuild by themselves with no outside threat
Why would Eren do the same thing as Karl Fritz when he created paradis island? Eren literally hates what he did, Karl Fritz took away their memories, he also took away their freedom and let them live in ignorance inside the walls. Eren HATES that. He would never do that. There's a reason why Eren is still letting the titan shifters use their powers. If you think he would take away their freedom, you truly never understood his character.
@@jaws9116 it makes sense tho! Him wipe their memory is not the same as what fritz and all the others before him wanted! Karl fritz (the first king) intended for the eldians to stay ignorant behind the walls while the rest of the world plotted to destroy them! They wanted the world to be at peace even if it meant sacrificing the lives of his fellow eldians. While eren wants his people to thrive and to continue to live on at whatever cost! So no! They're definitely not the same! Him wiping or altering their memories might well be the only way for them to move on and rebuild and also Repupulate the world if he succeeds in destroying it with the rumbling.. if you think about it not all the eldians are with eren in his plan to crush the other countries so do you think they'd all be ok with it after its all over??? More than likely it would just cause a civil war between eldians until humanity is driven to extinction!!! In the final episode eren even told historia that he'd alter her memory's so that she wouldn't have any knowledge of what his plans were. That's all because she said she wouldnt be able to live with herself if she had all that blood on her hands. So that shows that he's not above doing stuff like that if it will help eldians move forward into the future.
@@thelegendhimself. He wouldn't do it omg. He's literally letting all of his friends to use their titans so they can fight him. Eren literally says "if you want to stop me, you guys are free to do so" even if it's Eren wanting people to "not fight between themselves" it's the same thing as taking away their freedom. Eren isn't even doing this for Eldia as a whole, he's doing it for his friends. If he was doing this for Eldia and wanted everyone to live, he wouldn't even let all those people die because of the walls breaking or let the jeagerists kill his own people like general Zackly and the scouts who drank the wine. Eren offered Historia to erase her memories of the plan, not her ENTIRE memories. Even so, Eren didn't erase her memories because he knew Historia would stay silence. He literally used the "you're the worst girl in the world" line for her to help him because he knew it was going to work. Eren would never do the same as the royal family, he literally didn't even want Historia to have children so they could keep the founding titan and the royal blood. Because they hate everything they did. Eren wouldn't force the eldians who don't support him to support him. That goes what the character of Eren thinks about freedom. "We've all been special since the day we were born. We're free".
@@jaws9116 you have a point, and I'm not saying for a fact that he would do it. All I'm saying is that it Makes sense! If he's going all out like that so his people can survive him altering their memories is literally nothing! The man is about to commit genocide on the world!!! So him altering their memories to help them move on and prosper is so god damn insignificant😂 Eren himself said why he's unleashing the rumbling after he gain the power of the founding titan! He told them that he wouldn't let them destroy his people! Also your argument about him not caring about his people because of the things that happened doesn't make sense. Because for one, he only went along with zekes plan because he knew that he needed him for his plan to become a success! He needed him to gain the founding titan and also for him to drag him through their fathers memories so he could then convince him to kill the fritz family. Without zeke his plan would never have been able to fall into place! He had to go along with everything to fully gain his brother's trust! So if it ment a few eldians dying thats a smal price to pay to save the entire race. If you rewatch the episode where zeke was about to scream and turn everyone who drank the spinal fluid into titans Eren told him to wait! So obviously he didn't intended for him to actually go through with that plan. When he unleashed the rumbling wasn't his friends also within the walls as well??? So if you're saying him unleashing the rumbling which caused a few eldians to die means he doesn't really care about them like that wouldn't that also go for his friends since they were also within the walls?? Him unleashing the rumbling also put his friends in harms way as well! Simple fact is that their backs were against the wall when the Marleyans invaded so he had to unleash the rumbling to push them back. Also their are always casualties in war it doesn't mean he don't care about them! The casualties didn't even seem that much. You also said that he wouldn't let the yeagerist kill the people who opposed him if he really cared about them, but the yeagerist also tried to kill his friends as well after they tried to stop Erens plan didn't they???? So your argument ain't really holding up! Before season 4 alot of people wouldn't have thought Eren would be the kind of character to want to kill millions if not billions of innocent people across the world all to achieve his goal. Point is characters can change, its apart of character development, and its just an anime! It's all up to what the writers want. I'm not gonna act as if I know what a fictional character would or wouldn't do, it literally ain't that serious! I'm just going off of what I've seen happen in the show to decide how I think the show would or should end.
My interpretation of the assembly scene is that Eren wanted to make sure that the future he saw of the world uniting against Paradis was true. As soon as he saw that they weren't going to change, he got hands on to doing his "it's either you or us"
Yeah, we see him enjoying time with other ppl the night before and then next day at the assembly, "let's go kill the Eldians" welp, they brought that upon them
The scene of all of our main cast partying was so brief but so rewarding. Especially seeing Eren smile for once. But it's also very bittersweet knowing that Eren was just drowning out the pain. Afterall, he knew what was about to happen to all those people who showed him kindness. He knew this would be the last time he'd ever be able to smile again. Eren didn't want this. But to him, it had to happen.
This episode shows us that Eren has been in a nervous breakdown for 4 years because he wants peace like his friends he wants another way to be possible, who else but him can understand how devastating and stealing other people's freedom is bad but it's impossible because Eren has seen the future, Eren is therefore a prisoner of his destiny because everything that happens is according to his will, his will has always been freedom and since the very first episode Eren's freedom manifests itself exterminating what he prevents him from accessing it, As Kenny said we are all slaves of something so unlike his friends Eren is a prisoner of himself, of his desire for freedom which manifests itself through revenge although he understands the enemy and knows he will kill innocent people but as it is the only solution because the enemy intends to take away his freedom which is to live freely without constraint as he only has 4 years left to live he wants to offer this freedom to his friends, Eren is a prisoner of himself and must continue to follow everything he has seen and follow his own will of which he is himself a slave to save his friends. It is so incredible the writing and the complexity of this character! Eren's will transcends time so that everything happens according to his will Eren is a prisoner and to try to escape seeing that everything was happening exactly as he saw it he asked Mikasa a question she answered him as he saw it from there Eren had no choice because if he doesn't follow his will then his friends will die! What a character !!!!
@FLOCH-JAEGER 94 I love this answer but im just gonna say that you're 98% correct on this you're so close but im not gonna spoil it but you're close tho
Something that needs to be noted about Eren is something we learn about him in the weird high school spin off (Issayama himself has said that it's necessary to understand his character) is that in a world without conflict, violence and chaos Eren feels so incomplete and listless that he goes so far as to create these problems himself just so he has an enemy to fight. There are many reasons that he's doing what he's doing but the biggest one is that he simply craves conflict and the pursuit of his own freedom. He only feels complete with an enemy to fight.
Really love it whenever Isayama recalls past eren scene and then give it and different meaning. On the very first episode of attack on titan, while eren watched his mom get eaten, he said, "I'm gonna exterminate every last one of them in this world" talking about the titans. However, in this episode, he was not talking about the titans but the humanity outside the walls. Just beautiful storytelling in my opinion.
W ep seeing the Scouts in Marley for the first time and seeing Eren go ahead by himself was great. Also the two og OST’s they played🤧there was also one that sounded like 7ds. you are wondering why people are questioning eren's decision to genocide millions of people that have nothing to do with what is happening in paradis at all? No you know why, you just dont like people not agreeing with the character you like. No matter how hard the show makes eren look like the devil (child of evil) you will never disagree with him :D
@@soarin1 Fr, the outro for this part of the season (Which focuses solely on Eren and his horrific choices) is literally called "Child of evil" in english
@@soarin1 I guess you are sort of correct but no I don't see him as inherently "evil" and well if people are going to call him a "bad guy" they would have to look at the others actions as well, no matter what anyone will defend any of these character's actions but I understand why the others (the alliance) are going to try to stop Eren and respect it, I just get a little annoyed that people can understand other character's situations just not Eren's, especially since this show is about perspectives and reasoning on why the character's make certain choices
This episode was incredible, but it made me even more depressed about the whole situation they're in. Eren is just being the "villain" because it's the only way to save his dearest friends, especially Mikasa - and now these same friends feel forced to kill him. That scene when they first arrived in Marley gave us a glimpse of what their lifes could've been like if the world they live in wasn't so fucked up. I don't think I'm prepared to see how this all ends in 2023...
13:25 "It's (Colossal Titan) healing." They don't, remember, Ymir is the one who built and regenerated every titans, manually, by her hand in Path, but since she finally breaks free, there's no one in Path anymore... Except the monkey who builds his own castle
That's not true at all. Eren only freed her from the royal family's control. Ymir can now choose to end the titan curse at any moment, but she chose to follow Eren and do the Rumbling with him, so technically she's still in Paths making titans and making sure they heal.
Ymir is still making Titans. The only difference is, now it's for the sake of Eren's dream instead of King Fritz's will. Plus time is irrelevant in the Paths so she doesn't know when those Titans need healing. For all Ymir knows, she wouldn't know whether the Titans she makes are deployed in recent time or in the very beginning, because it's all irrelevant to her knowledge.
“All of this is what I wanted”. Ppl say eren doesn’t want to do the rumbling and is forced which is partly true due to many in the world hating eldians and wanting their end. But it isn’t only that. Since the start eren has always sought freedom to a terrifying degree. Like his idea of freedom is a need and a part of his nature “I’ll destroy the entire world”, “I am free”. Are the two statements eren says in his berserk state in s1 finale. Ofc he wants to protect his friends and ppl. But this yearning is what pushed him to be able to do this atrocity. He wants the world that wasn’t like armin book to disappear. This is what reiner realized a few eps ago, not that they both have no choice, but deep inside both of them they wanted to do what they did. For reiner it was to be a hero, for erens it’s freedom. That’s the true meaning of “I’m the same as you”
I think in a way Eren is trapped by his visions of freedom he sees. He is practically a slave to freedom. I think he doesn't want to do it in the sense he wishes there was some other way. But in his mind there is no better way and so this is what he feels needs to happen.
lots of people seem to miss this but its very true. The tragedy of Eren's character is that despite seeking freedom, he was always guided by the will of the titan (and thus its destiny) that he was given, and he never really had the freedom to choose his own path.
@@2ethefirst318 I don’t think that he was guided by his titan but himself. The reason the attack titan seeks freedom is because of eren as the final inheritor. He’s a slave to himself and he caused his own paradox. He’s not only a slave to fate but also his nature to pursue freedom. And he claims that he chose this predetermined path for himself. So the question of free will vs fate is left up in the air to be decided by viewers
Thats the same thing though. Like he's forced to do it because there is no other way. The reason he comes of so scary about it is because he knows what he has to do and is going to do it. Everyone else still has hope that there are other ways to go about it but Eren has already seen the bull. A few characters even hanges have even remarked on this stating has eren is doing while everyone else is kinda just twiddling their thumbs. But eren had the curse of forsight.
I don't find many things scary or terrifying but I think isayama thought of the worst possible fate that could happen to someone. Watching this scene genuinely made me think about how terrifying that would be, there is literally no way of surviving that. Your fate is to get trampled on, burn from steam, or drown from oncoming waves. There is ZEROOO way u can hide from that.
Dont forget that in Part 1 Episode 10 when they were building the railtrack, Hange announced to the crew they gonna visited Mahr to try to change people's mind. The flashback is 1year ago
There's 9 chapters left it would be okay to be a movie if it's a weekly shonen. But every aot chapters consist of 50+ pages so it would be crammed or rushed. They're adapting 1 chapter per episode so your making 9 episodes in 1 movie that's 3-4 hours.
Even though most people are frustrated with waiting for a year, I'm kinda glad coz I need the time to prepare myself for what is to come. Plus mappa get to take their time with the final season and give us an amazing end to this amazing journey.
Bruh, putting a bonfire of dreams over that scene on the hill, with Eren and Mikasa looking at all the lights in the camp... That sent shivers down my spine. I really was not prepared for that as my eyes went wet.
I’m glad they showed the flash back because I was so confused as to why Jean and Connie in the last episode were shown drinking with a random guy. Now it all makes sense.
It’s definitely up there with the best episodes in aot. There’s too many to truly choose one but it’s in that group. I can’t wait to see Ramzi again :D and even if the ending is inevitable, another part at least means another OP and ED.
That’s a nice call out from season 1 episode 2. When Eren was in the boat evacuating from the attack he said “I’m going to eradicate them, every last one” while looking at marleys direction
I must say that this episode n specially the scene with Colossal Titans marching towards marley was TOTALLY better than the manga, the OST, the Colossal Titans, especially the Founding Titan LOOKS so freaking great. Thank you MAPPA for giving us a great final episode~!!
i genuinely though this would be the final final season. as a manga reader, when we were at the second to last episode i was like “something’s not right here…” lmao
There were already talks that this season would not be enough to cover everything since Mappa was doing more or less 1-2 chapters per episode hence there was a film rumour going on but I'm glad it's a season and not a film.
you kinda fail to remember only eldians know that the rumbling is coming in that instant. tho the gigantic steam from the sea should be a bit of a signal lol
Remember: The WORLD, not just Marley, it is the WORLD, gathered by Tyhbur in Marley, they were prepping to clap Paradis Island. The WORLD declared war against Paradis. Eren together with Reiner was listening to what will happen, of course Eren knows what will happen, but still he waited for the declaration, that point he said something like, "I guess we are really the same Reiner, we have no choice". Eren was constantly seeing how everything will go south, he saw it with future memories, and he is seeing it unfold everyday. Then at the convention, they were the enemies then at the gathering, war was declared against them. I'm still on Eren's side, he just wants his Friends to live a long happy life, and his character was and always "to fight before killed".
This episode has got to be one of my favourite ones in the entire show. This was probably the most wholesome episode in the entire show but still it made me so sad. Seeing them enjoy life together at the party, getting drunk together and just having fun made me so happy. I literally couldn’t stop smiling feeling hapiness for them but at the same time tear up because of how much times have changed for them. This flashback is probably the last time they were all happy together. I wish Mikasa would of finally told the truth to Eren, and not said because he was «family». Im wondering just like Mikasa said «Would that have changed anything?» I think Eren asking Mikasa "What am i to you?" was Eren's last hope to get another answer from the one he knew he would get because of the memories. This is kind of what happened with Sasha's death aswell. Eren knew it was inevitable. I truely do believe if the answer would of have been different it could of changed everything. Defenitly the most beautiful episode so far. How they captured everyones, especially Mikasa and Eren’s face expressions was so well done. I love how Mappa brought back some of the old OST’s it hits so hard hearing them again after such a long time. I can’t help but get goosebumps every time. This episode was also the first episode of this season where we actually got to see Eren’s perspectives on things and actually hear his thoughts. Eren was crying because of what he was about to do tho those innocent people but he felt like he had no other choice. Ever since he kissed historias hand his life has been a living hell. He just wants to protect the people he loves, no matter the cost. I have said this before but this show is so human-like when it comes to the characters behaviour and i think that’s what makes me love it so much. It’s hard to really grasp the whole situation about who is in the right or wrong. AOT really learned us about that there are no people who are right or wrong, at the end it just comes down to what their own beliefes are. 11/10 episode. What a ride this has been. Iseyama thank you for this masterpiece. See you all in 2023!
The Eldians in Marley are pretty doomed, they can't even try to go around the planet because they're captives in the concentration camps. And even if they could, the chances of outrunning the colossal titans seem pretty slim.

I'm 100% sure they'd be more understanding of why they didn't get a warning once they find out that Eren didn't drop the walls on a whim but because he had his head blown off and had to use the founder's powers immediately.

it was so sad when people fighting the real war are saying goodbye in the subreddit. even in aot subs.
Damn….
Fire comment
@@Jay-ggnore It's straight up volcanic. Go figure that the best Eren related comment anywhere comes from a guy who is himself named Eren!
woah...
7:14 ngl that editing with the Guts theme while Eren speaks gave me chills 🤣

It hits different
Bonfire of Dreams
I died when it started, that shot was perfect for it 😆
i was also like "Hey isnt this guts theme?!"
i think an important thing to note about this episode was eren’s self-loathing. he cried because of the terrible things he had to do and the monster he would become, but also when he asks zeke why mikasa is so bonded to him. he couldn’t believe that someone would actually love him as much as mikasa does, so he resorted to some absurd theories about genetic infatuation.
@@adamvialpando106 Eren is so far in his self loathing he didn't notice he himself is the reason why Mikasa can be so happy.
@@adamvialpando106 Which is basically why Eremika in a way doesn’t work, because would Mikasa really approve of him doing this? Mikasa herself was already questioning it, and it didn’t help with everyone around her asking her of what she’s going to do.

I love that flash to young Eren. His motivation is so pure: “you killed my mother so now the world will burn”
the way I interpreted that seen was eren remembering how it felt to have your family destroyed as a innocent child and now his inflicting it to others.
eren already stated to reiner that this was no longer about revenge during the declaration of war so it surprises me how many people still think his angry about the death of his mother
don't get me wrong he is probably still angry and traumatized but that isn't his primary motivation.
@@creeperkingdom3190 I mean I do think the death of his mom really did set the ball rolling but I agree with you. He's ALWAYS been all about freedom but the death of his mom was what made the difference between someone like Levi or Hange or Armin vs himself. It was that insanely dedicated Eren that would do anything to slay all titans + the young Eren who wanted freedom for the people of Paradis.
Ok
Exactly. He activates the rumbling on his literal death bed after a surprise attack from marley
Yeah, that part is just desperate move by Eren, he had no other choice
Marleyans are worse than titans, absolute animals. They seem to get pleasure out of murdering children.
Finally I seen someone caught that
Finally.
He also said it back on the boat leaving Shinganshina after the breach
14:14 almost killed me! 😂

It completely throws away all the amazing development and writing thus far, as if it was written by a rank amateur.

if you think about it not all the eldians are with eren in his plan to crush the other countries so do you think they'd all be ok with it after its all over???
As soon as he saw that they weren't going to change, he got hands on to doing his "it's either you or us"
Yeah, we see him enjoying time with other ppl the night before and then next day at the assembly, "let's go kill the Eldians" welp, they brought that upon them
13:34
This is where people are saying:
Season 1-3: Run, Eren!
Season 4: Run, it's Eren!
You’re so close, but it’s a bit deeper.
U will realize that eren is tsundere
I just wish after four years of anxiety I could have a six pack and a grow spur like Eren, instead of losing hair and gaining dark circles.
@@dwbi16 this comment enjoy me as a Anime Only we gonna have more developpement of Him 🥳🥳🥳😂😂😂
Something that needs to be noted about Eren is something we learn about him in the weird high school spin off (Issayama himself has said that it's necessary to understand his character) is that in a world without conflict, violence and chaos Eren feels so incomplete and listless that he goes so far as to create these problems himself just so he has an enemy to fight. There are many reasons that he's doing what he's doing but the biggest one is that he simply craves conflict and the pursuit of his own freedom. He only feels complete with an enemy to fight.
really!!?wowwow thats interesting and it makes sense
Really love it whenever Isayama recalls past eren scene and then give it and different meaning. On the very first episode of attack on titan, while eren watched his mom get eaten, he said, "I'm gonna exterminate every last one of them in this world" talking about the titans. However, in this episode, he was not talking about the titans but the humanity outside the walls. Just beautiful storytelling in my opinion.
W ep seeing the Scouts in Marley for the first time and seeing Eren go ahead by himself was great. Also the two og OST’s they played🤧there was also one that sounded like 7ds. I’m happy it’s a part 3 and not a movie, allows them to expand on the ending and not rush it with a movie! A 10/10 finale ish ending 🤣
Side note but W Clementine pfp
agreed, the version of that ost during the whole party scene was hella nice
@@rahfrmnyc back at you😁
Nice ClemenDOG pfp. Btw I suggest u watch RDCWorlds playthrough of walking dead game. Easily the most entertaining run of the game on UA-cam imo
Actually 3 osts
"I'll exterminate them" this scene showing his mom getting eaten and that old school background music gave me chills!! Let's go Eren 🔥
Yeah, let's go crush babies and murder billions of innocents! Awesome! Eren's such a chad.
Jesus, you people are something else.
Bro what you're supporting mass genocide?
@@hessiankyojin After the countries he's attacking also supported genocide and ruined thousands of innocent lives for the sake of a petty grudge? After they're the sole and only reason Eren watched his mom die and caused their own demise? And treated people like animals on a farm for a century? Fuck yeah, I'd support Eren. I'd be riding right on top of his head to watch the Colossal Titans trample the world until it's a blank slate.
@@mistermaxie6487 That is messed up, bro. Genocide will never be the answer against people trying to kill your entire race.
@@hessiankyojin the world also wanna kill all the people on paradis island (which is also a genocide) and now people are barking when eren turn the table? Lmao

The swimming part go me too. I was completely sold on that Eren couldn’t cover the whole world but man was I wrong 😂. When I saw this I just accepted that they were screwed.
14:06 that exact quote/audio clip by Eren, originally said about all titans. Now said about all of humanity…
Attack on Titan every year:
*This isn't even my final **-form-** season*
You’re the only reactors that i watch who point that Eren crying on the hill was for the people he’s about to kill, he even say « they’re like us, no home anymore no liberty » they are the peoples of the walls and Eren is their colossal titan
Love you guys !
Yeah some people ask "wHy Is ErEn DoInG tHiS?" Well...Marely sending the titans for years, the walls are broken, death on Paradise, the assembly on Marely saying they should still hate the people of Paradise, and the declaration of war on top of that
Yeah...I wonder why
He's justified in killing those attacking him, not in slaughtering an entire world of people that never did him any harm.
@@bland1088 Yeah that isn't justified but some people still ask that question and its...a little annoying but I see why he did what he is doing
you are wondering why people are questioning eren's decision to genocide millions of people that have nothing to do with what is happening in paradis at all?
Me either
the season 1 OST playing always gets me good old days when the only thing we worry is the basement lol

ROSHI ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK THIS TIME :D
13:25 "It's (Colossal Titan) healing."
They don't, remember, Ymir is the one who built and regenerated every titans, manually, by her hand in Path, but since she finally breaks free, there's no one in Path anymore...
Except the monkey who builds his own castle
That's not true at all. Eren only freed her from the royal family's control. Ymir can now choose to end the titan curse at any moment, but she chose to follow Eren and do the Rumbling with him, so technically she's still in Paths making titans and making sure they heal.
How would Annie and Reiner transform then?
Ymir is still making Titans. The only difference is, now it's for the sake of Eren's dream instead of King Fritz's will. Plus time is irrelevant in the Paths so she doesn't know when those Titans need healing. For all Ymir knows, she wouldn't know whether the Titans she makes are deployed in recent time or in the very beginning, because it's all irrelevant to her knowledge.
I was thinking that too but if that was true reiner and annie and falco wouldn’t even be able to transform then
@@deviousN Ymir is the entity responsible for titans healing. Everytime we see them heal, it's her doing. Paths and time doesn't factor in.
“All of this is what I wanted”. Ppl say eren doesn’t want to do the rumbling and is forced which is partly true due to many in the world hating eldians and wanting their end. But it isn’t only that. Since the start eren has always sought freedom to a terrifying degree. Like his idea of freedom is a need and a part of his nature
“I’ll destroy the entire world”, “I am free”.
@@Endisfree_ i like this interpretation more actually, makes a lot of sense.
I agree. The only slim chance of survival would be either underground in a bunker somewhere or in the air on some type of plane.
But it worse to die in the ocean

Roshi and Lupa: THEY'RE SWIMMING?! 🤯😱
Sheera: 😲
Dont forget that in Part 1 Episode 10 when they were building the railtrack, Hange announced to the crew they gonna visited Mahr to try to change people's mind. The flashback is 1year ago
Do you think part 3 should have been a movie or are you okay with part 3
I am okay with part 3
Part 3 man boring if movie
Definitely fine with part 3, I don’t even wanna know how weird a movie would be since it would either have to be 3.5 hours or super crammed and fast.
If it was a movie it would be wayyyyyy too rushed. Part 3 is better.
There's 9 chapters left it would be okay to be a movie if it's a weekly shonen. But every aot chapters consist of 50+ pages so it would be crammed or rushed. They're adapting 1 chapter per episode so your making 9 episodes in 1 movie that's 3-4 hours.
14:14 I was in tears, it's wayyy too late for him to stop lmaooo
"Thats so extra" funniest line I have ever heard. Eren is *so fucking extra*
Even though most people are frustrated with waiting for a year, I'm kinda glad coz I need the time to prepare myself for what is to come. Plus mappa get to take their time with the final season and give us an amazing end to this amazing journey.
@5:54, Levi said, “As my hero Joseph Joestar says, ‘run awwaaayyy!!!’.”
Erin has always been consistent and kept the same energy. I respect that.
Bruh, putting a bonfire of dreams over that scene on the hill, with Eren and Mikasa looking at all the lights in the camp... That sent shivers down my spine. I really was not prepared for that as my eyes went wet.
7:16 perfect choice of music for that scene
the "oh no eren stop" i'ev been feeling that way for years now.
I’m glad they showed the flash back because I was so confused as to why Jean and Connie in the last episode were shown drinking with a random guy. Now it all makes sense.
"Oh no Eren stop!" LMAO
Oh my goodness the ost was giving me chills for the entire episode. I'm considering this one of my favorite episodes
i genuinely though this would be the final final season. as a manga reader, when we were at the second to last episode i was like “something’s not right here…” lmao
There were already talks that this season would not be enough to cover everything since Mappa was doing more or less 1-2 chapters per episode hence there was a film rumour going on but I'm glad it's a season and not a film.
17:04 this is it right here. This is what we should all be thinking
Man, respect to the Alliance for having the courage to fight Eren like this
Yeah, congrats, your reward is a steam bath
I just don't see how they gonna beat him... unless he let them
You say that but there is literally no other choice since there is literally nowhere else to run to since eren will trample the entire world
@@nasrfcimchannel Nah, they got Gabi, one shot and he's done haha
Floch fighting alliance is harder because of thicc plot armour for alliance
you kinda fail to remember only eldians know that the rumbling is coming in that instant. tho the gigantic steam from the sea should be a bit of a signal lol
Lupa: “Oh no Eren stop!”
Eren:”It’s too late for all that”
7:50 The night a suicidal maniac got family-zoned, so did one of the reasons the rumbling happened
EXACTLY bruh idk why people just sit down and think this through instead of calling him a monster for protecting whats left of his family
I am with too brother
8:07 wow Lupa with his sharingan asking if Eren has seen this already
"A hero would sacrifice you for the world but a villan will sacrifice the world for you"
CONGRATS ON GETTING TO UA-cam TRENDING GUYS
16:15, the Eldians in Marley got a head start when they got the "My name is Eren Yaeger” broadcast.
Headstart to where tho? I've read the manga, so I get your point. But that was not the broadcast. You're not on the Island, you're dead.
@@7daimeHokage well, if the Earth is a sphere, there has to be a was to get behind the Colossal Titans without being crushed to death.
The Eldians in Marley are pretty doomed, they can't even try to go around the planet because they're captives in the concentration camps. And even if they could, the chances of outrunning the colossal titans seem pretty slim.
My question was *"how big are the colossal Titans? They can't swim can't they?"* And then I got immediately got answered
Bruh the fucking subtitle of “baddest girl in the world” completely changed the mood of the line
It's the fact that Eren used the exact same words he said after seeing his mom get eaten. Except in an entirely different and a complete 180 meaning
