If you're planning on cramming the 3950X into the Ncase M1, NZXT H210, or Cerberus, this is the one.
Optimum Tech TU 150?
When I was considering this motherboard for the nCase M1 I thought the SO-DIMM.2 part would stick out too far and interfere with a side-mounted radiator+fans. Is it actually smaller than I thought? Does it come close to touching the 240mm AIO you've tested with?
Does it fit in the louqe ghost s1
@@He1mut379 no because that case uses a riser
@@vernacular3289 It clears it fine
Really digging your channel lately mate. You've inspired me to go with my first ITX build. My Velka 5 case is on its way to Australia.
...to become a koala.
@@salmonn_gz7987 thats enough cocaine for today bro...
@@jarad1909 You ask everyone not to buy an itx board because you broke your dram slot on your Asus X470? Really bruh, that's like asking everyone not to buy a notched phone because you broke its front facing camera
Yes please, we would like to see this board in Ncase M1 v6 with a full custom loop with 3950X and 2080Ti!
Not that I can afford 1/10 of it though!
Yeah a full custom loop inside the Ncase M1 would be so great !
Yes do it!
Michael Chan yep the dream build ,
Heck, yeah!
Michael Chan 100th like on your comment.
for anybody watching this now, i can confirm it will fit a noctua nhu12a no problem. huge air cooling compatible, no issue with the so dimm.2 card
Thankyou!! Finally someone has answered this question!
If only I could afford it
Just did a 3900x build with this beast!
What a motherboard.
All crammed into a corsair 280X with full custom waterloop (2x280mm radiator)
IMPORTANT: This board cannot be used with a tower cooler in HP/Dell/Lenovo style office microtowers, unlike many ITX/DTX boards.
Zero dislikes, perfect. It's really something you deserve. These videos are amazing quality and beautiful made. I don't have anywhere near the money to build a micro itx PC but I still end up watching all your vids. That's a good thing.
Greetings from Kaai.
Now you attracted the trolls, so dislikes coming
I literally got an impact z170 yesterday for a friend and was surprised about that vrm you mentioned at the beginning. Really nice board
There's a beta bios out for 1.0.0.4 specifically for the Impact. I was seeing my 3900X run around 0.7-1.0V in idle. I can link it below, but it will probably be deleted. I also wished you expanded on that the VRMs may only be 4+2 phases, but are teamed (parallel) 70A power stages that make them almost as efficient as having 8 separate power stages. Overall, great work with this overview and keep coming out with awesome content.

Yessssssssssssss. Two back to back reviews I've been dying for!
I've no doubt people will put this board in a NCASE M1 with a 3950X. However, if you plan to overclock the 3950x, a 240mm rad will struggle.
That's why ncase m1 is the end-game sff case. It can fit two 240 rad in there!
@@VinhNguyen92 Then you need to water cool the GPU as well for enough space for the bottom radiator and fans. It'd be tricky to route all the tubing for two cold blocks and two rad in such small case.
@@spektrumB but that's thr great thing about good water cooling... overcoming those challenges.
*Sees price closes video..
my favourite mini itx channel
Yeah! Do a dual radiator internal reservoir build in the ncase m1! Then I'll copy you soon enough!
Just bought the motherboard and 3900X + Radeon VII for a little Hack Pro. Thanks for all the great vids!
The thing I actually hate on this mobo (I own one myself) is that SO-DIMM device. on the position it sits at, the NVMEs get obnociously hot even at idle (50+ C) because of the fact that they're sitting right above the GPU.
A custom loop w/3950x when it's released would be awesome!
Impact board + 3950x + Apogee Drive II ! Looking forward to such build from you !
So excited to build with this motherboard in the Cerberus. The case is the last thing to arrive, but I have your videos to thank for inspiring my build!
I've already had mini-ITX since 2016, but I'll be moving soon, so I will need to significantly downsize, not just the physical dimensions of my desktop PC case, but I will have to cram 3 other computers into one. The Ncase M1 and this board seem to be the perfect combination to do just that. Can't wait for the watercooled build video!
yeee boi been eagerly waiting for you to do this video. premium af content as usual. love ur work bruv, big love from melbourne xoxo
Great video, about the Strix ITX board you mentioned, buildzoids pcb breakdown shows that it *looks* like the exact same vrm as the impact so it should be pretty solid :)
Ofc hard to tell until someone gets it in hand to test. I am more waiting for B550 as I do no need PCIE gen 4 and that should make the loss of it on B550 much more affordable and practical.
Love the channel! You definitely know you stuff, much love from the United States!
I have been waiting for this board for awhile and Asus definitely delivered here. ITX sure has come along way, and the AIO market definitely makes high-end builds possible in super small form factor!
Cheers🍻
Your content is always gold. Good Info and very entertaining!
You're really better off getting the ASUS ROG Strix X570-I Gaming, it's actually ITX and has the same VRM and potential for high core count Ryzen. Plus it's like $150 cheaper.
Do you have a reference for the VRM on the X570-I Strix?
@@user-kk4bq7mb8u Look up "Actually Hardcore Overclocking" on UA-cam, Buildzoid actually just put out a video on it. Make sure to Subscribe to his channel, UA-cam needs more people like him!
That's what I did. Couldn't justify spending almost the same amount of money as I did on my extreme x570.
ASUS list it as a 8+2 ... so confused. May return my impact.
@@AdamBrackney Yeah, I follow AHO. May have to rewatch that video.
Your content speaks to my soul somehow ... I think you're my spirit animal.
Waiting for a full watercooled build! Greeting from Greee! Keep up the great work!!!
On this channel I hit the like button first and then watch the video
This is one of the only ITX-ish sized motherboards I've seen with a clear CMOS button, Diagnostic LED and power switches... Too bad it currently retails for about $700. Lat time I had something like this, it was for a 4770K. And cost half as much.
this board in an node 304 with a big air cooler
Would love this board, looks sweet and would love to see a full water cooler build with this beast
I have made my wishlist for a brand new PC in the start of 2020. The H210 is the case of choice. My one question was if it fit, and you answered that question before I asked! Damn this board is fine.
That motherboard costs half of my build, which included a windows 10 key
a single rtx2080ti super can also be replaced with full setup pc.
yah, same here. when i upgraded from my old i7 2600 to my ryzen 5, it was around $350, and that was when i had to pay $80 for the 8GB of RAM. currently going back and forth on actually buying the $38 dtx board i saw aliexpress.
Windows 10 keys are $12-$40. Spending anymore is a rip off.
I have been patiently waiting for this board to actually release...FINALLY
Great video, as always. And, yes, we want to see a water cooled build!
Oh! Full custom loop in NCase M1 sounds amazing. In fact, that’s exactly what I want to do too! Would love to see that video
Here is eagerly awaiting the build you have to show us in the future.
BTW with Thunderbolt would have been perfect
Thunderbolt is trademarked by Intel and is not available on AMD boards.
@@xenofenus Yet there are some boards that have Thunderbolt with AMD, I had one. I was thinking about the ASrock X570 when I wrote that line, a board that I've sold because it has some great peculiar stuff like TB but other odd ones like Intel CPU cooler mount system.
Still going for the ASRock Phantom X570 ITX + Sliger Cerberus, I'm just worried about the M.2 on the back. TB3 is an important feature for me as I can work from home direct on the external drive and carry it with me and use with my MacBook Pro on the road. Your channel is great keep it up!
Can't wait to get this for my inwin a1plus case
Dude you channel has some really great content!!!
Thank you for the detailed review! Professionally done.
Getting to the CMOS battery 💀💀
Good info. Am building this now. Ncase M1, 3900X, 2080 Super, custom loop w/ AlphaCool LT solo + GPX. Priority is workstation. Would love to see how you solve your build.
Why mATX doesn't get any love? I personally think it gives you a bit more flexibility than ITX boards and saves much more space compared to ATX. Hopefully we will be seeing premium mATX soon.
@@MrBluePoochyena That is all true, but I really don't understand why!
As always quality content. Please do a water cooled build :)
Sidearmd T1 is my favorite SFF case coming out and this would be great for it...if it fit. I have no need for that many cores in such a built though
the new reference layout formd T1 just might fit this board
Man I paid $60 for a micro ATX board in 2015, how the hell are smaller boards costing 8x as much for a brand name in 2019
Back in 2015, a black guy was the US President. The world has changed.
imagine buying Intel anytime in the past decade omegalul
I am cooling a 3900X in a Ghost using your config with 240 radiator and eisbear / ek waterblock.
This motherboard is the cheapest mini itx x570 board currently, oh how the turn tables cause of the current state of the world. I’m getting it cause it’s now the best deal :)
i just got the asus x570i in the mail yesterday and i love the board.. choice it over the impact, rather save the money an get a better graphics card or cpu...
Great video as always! You gave inspired me to build an itx system next year when the next generation Ryzen and Nvidia cards launch.
But I'm not sure if I'll go with the TU-150 or Inwin a1 plus 🤔 Could you do a review of the a1 plus?
Personally, I don't care for the plastic bottom bit on the Inwin A1 Plus and the TU-150 is kinda large compared to many other SFF offerings.
@@vernacular3289 I don't mind the bottom part of the a1. But yeah the Tu-150 is kinda big. But I'm also limited in what cases I can buy in my country and budget also plays a role.
I would prefer a case with a glass side panel and thats also pretty limiting.
Can’t wait to see what Zen3 chips one can put in these
The only problem I have with Asus mobo fans is that after 2 years the small fans start to coil whine VERY loudly. ASUS TUF use to give an extra fan, I can only imagine for that reason.
I will say that the review is great, I would like to see a build in this using the 3700x myself. Everyone and their sister is doing Ryzen 9 builds but hardly anyone is using 3700x processors, and just for the thermal differences (if there are any) I would consider using the Ryzen 7 processor over the Ryzen 9 processor. If an air cooled build would produce acceptable temps that would be something to see. Otherwise I would probably be using an AIO myself.
Yes please do that custom loop build with this board!
Awesome review please review the ASUS x570-I strix 🙏🙏
When you do decide to do a custom loop with this little bad boy, get the new Optimus Cooling AM4 waterblock, made specifically for Ryzen 3000 series with the dual chiplet die layout...I am thinking of getting one, and then delidding a 3950X, and running direct die with the waterblock, to see how high I can get the CPU to boost, and hopefully help with sustained boost frequencies.
This on a NCase M1 v6 on both air and water is what I await.
Good review! Can you double check the size of those fans for the Chipset? I remember reading and also hearing Paul's Hardware say those fans are actually 30mm fans. I also remember reading the ROG Strix had 30mm fans. It seems like ASUS would use the same fans on both for cost.
Thank you very much. I am 'hoping' this fits into the Cooler Master NR200 Case. With a air cooler and a RTX 3080 Ti Fe card that I was able to buy this morning at Best Buy. Thank you again. f
Oh wouldn't it be nice if ASUS rebranded so I could use these boards and not die inside everytime my booting bios would greet me with REPUBLIC OF G4MERZ.
It is a 4+2. Check your Buildzoid.
Ncase M1 v6 + 3950x + this board + Kraken X52 ?!
Not gonna buy one myself, but seeing you make the most powerful all AMD build possible in the ncase with it would be fun :D
Just go with the strix variant. It’s the itx standard and has most of the things from the impact mobo that you would want
Hell yea do a custom watercool system in the ncase. I'm surprised you haven't done it yet
Considering the fact that itx boards can cope with poor level of ryzen's overclock, i don't see reason to throw away aditional 150$ for this one, and reason more is size wich will cut part of audience. I don't see the people will start selling Dan cases just to have this board
yeah, full custom loop would be cool
Great channel and top notch reviews, is there any reason for quoting US pricing?
I wanted this mobo only for the USB C header, but I decided a USB C header wasn't worth the extra $200 and went with the Gigabyte board instead.
Asus ROG Strix X570-I has the exact same VRM! So yeah. Impact has really no value anymore at 430usd while same CPU performance can get with 260usd motherboard. And it is ITX not DTX.
But the problem is that it seems those Strix X570-I motherboard has skyrocketed. Can't find them with 260usd price tag...
so much drama. theyre 260 on amazon ( - _ - )
@@iHasCaek Nope, checked. Amazon sells that board over 300. I could find Newegg listing for 260. If You planned to be ironical then you failed...
I bought mine for msrp off newegg 2 days ago. Amazon have them for MSRP as well only shipping date sucks .
@@TRHardware they are $260 but it sez 1 - 2 month shipping. i'm in cali and I got 2 within 2 weeks of ordering. did you actually try buying or you just whinning for internet clout?
@@iHasCaek I am waiting for Black Friday 29.nov to make my order. And I can't buy it from US sites, I am in EU. So if I buy from US Amazon or Newegg add import taxes and shipping. That makes +80 euros extra... They are listed in Amazon GER and UK also, but much higher price and are out of stock in Newegg EU sites.
This board should be $150-$200 less, I bet most of that extra money your paying for is for the Asus ROG brand name.
I am planning to build with this in the V6 ncase. I would love to see this built with corsair's watercooling parts and the frozen rear reservoir.
I'd like to see this in a black DA2 with black noctua cooler and a Radeon VII.
I wish there is a new benchmark calculation
The score divided by case volume time noise dB,
Yeah imagine how well that m1 build gonna do.
Since you're one of my favorite YT-ers, figured I'd share...
Asus = Pegasus Systems, so you too can pronounce it correctly! :D
Aaa - shoo - sh
assist?
Damn. I want this with a 3950x in my DanCase M1
Great idea for a water cooled build with this mb
I really wanted one of these boards, until I saw the price. X570 boards are just so expensive. I ended up using an ASRock Extreme4 with my 3900x, which despite the name seems like a run-of-the-mill board. I will miss the nice feature set of the Crosshair boards.
Go with the strix variant or the gigabyte board.
There were long waits on both of the ITX boards on Amazon. 2-4 Weeks at the earliest. Neither have front-side Type C. I had problems the statistics of each board. This new Crosshair board gets all the checkmarks, except price. On the positive side, my choice negated the need for a new case and power supply.
I want to see an air cooled/portable 3900x + 2080 super or 2080 ti (a big selling point for itx is portability, which largely goes out the window with water doesn’t it?)
and here i am waiting for their a320i-k itx board to downsize my build
But still that's a very nice board
Definitely do a water cooled build in there.
Isn’t this the only motherboard that supports the USB-C port on the NCase M1 v6? I’ve tried to looking for some form of adapter to an older USB standard, but couldn’t find one.
Yes that's correct.
I really hope i could afford these hardware
Everything with the "rog" tag is way overpriced.
@@shagadelic3000 who said no
08:56 - will the dtx board cause issues with a bottom mounted radiator + 2 15mm fans? I just ordered the Ncase M1 v6.1 - this would be exactly my scenario, thank you!
I’ve paired this with the 3700x.
Yeah I know it’s overkill but I couldn’t find the strix x570 anywhere and I don’t like the other two itx boards from gigabyte and asrock.
Also since amd said next gen should be still compatible with am4 I might as well just upgrade to a better cpu later on.
Sounded like a promotional video. Wish it was an actual review.
The Gigabyte Aorus I x570 pro wifi it's the best mini itx x570 board
Beast I want this and the m1 case
1:45 Oh no...... I paired the motherboard with a R5 3600, that's not good XD (Cause I replaced my MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi, which has defect that cause BAOD all the time lately, with this board, no regret though)
Please do an ncase m1 water cooling cooling setup with graphic card and cpu in the same loop. If you can please test thermals and temps!!!! Thank you!
You could make a build with this in a Lian Li TU150 Black
Finally a use case for my Lian Li pc-tu100. haha
I have a question if you had a choice between the Asus Micro ATX x570 strix vs this x570 crosshair impact purely from an overclocking standpoint. Which would you pick I get going from micro atx to dtx/itx you lose 2 slots of ram. But from a mosfet and etc standpoint, is the impact superior to the micro atx strix board?
So if it is only utilizing 4+2... Why does it have 10 on the board? Probably could have figured out a way to utilize the or get rid of them during all that R&D..
It is not imposible to cool a 3900x on a dan a4, I got both, the only thing you need is undervolting and I have better performance than stock so is not a drawback.
My cooler is an asetek 645lt with thermal grizzly hydronaut.
Challenge mode: Watercooled build in the TU150
So increase the size to DTX BUT NOT put in a second PCIe 4.0 slot?! Sorry as much as I don't mind DTX this design does NOT make sense....
imo the pch fans are pretty audible on idle.
