ok, that USB to SATA cable is a god send. I have a crappier, more ghetto version, but yeah, holy smokes has it saved me while doing PC builds in the past.
I always keep a usb2 and 3 version around because they are so quick and versitile. If you've spent any time pushing ram to the limit or done any kind of XOC you'll know how easy it is to destroy your windows install, especially anything newer than W7. These offer a quick solution for imaging and restoring fully prepped OS's for each specific platform and work with whatever imaging software you use. Even Ghost32 from 2011 still works with all Windows builds, but I also use Macrium Reflect and Acronis True Image if I need additional control. Also work great with a 500gb ssd where I keep all drivers, utilities and bios files so any problem I face can be fixed quickly
I'd do it. But in this environment, finding cool stuff that's actually NEW isn't easy at all. I don't want this to become another BS series of junk people already knew about and avoided....
I just ripped out a silverstone SFF PSU on a rebuild because the cables were too stiff to route well in my NR200P. Went with an evga because even though it just has traditional braided cables, they were so much easier to work with. Seeing these silverstone cables sold separately is a hilarious grift. Essentially "sure you paid a cool 150 for an otherwise mediocre PSU, now cough up another 30 funbux for something that we shoulda put in the box!". Yeah I think I'll look elsewhere from now on.
VHB Tape for mounting small items and SDDs (no need for bulky drive cages, and more placement options); and PCIe x1 or x4 to NVMe cards - Sure its not using the full bandwith of the SSD, but comparable to SATA drives and can give extra storage in a neater form and doesn't need extra cables to be run (and most ATX boards will have at least one of these slots free!
That 12v DC pci slot power adapter, i use that to power my vr headset rather than having to have a whole extra power brick. Only problem is its a different size than the valve index, so you also need an adapter to make it work.
Thx for mentioning the SABRENT USB to SATA adapter. I own one, forgot I had it, and have yet to use it. I foolishly was still using an enclosure or bitlocker for the task
I use that EXACT Sabrent USB to SATA adapter and it works great! Instead of installing windows from a USB drive, I use a cheap 120gb SSD instead. SO MUCH FASTER!!!!!!
Hey Mike, since you seem to be interested in the topic how about a video on 3d printed computer gadgets or 3d prints you have done that are related to computers. Also I have the noctua na-fd1 and it had less impact on temperature than I expected (1-2°C less) but it's pretty cheap and I have a bunch of the foam stuff left that I could use for another pc.
Dude, that USB 3.1 to Type-C is a life saver, my PC hasn’t got type-c connecter so my type c port will be dead, but I have an open 3.1 port, game changer.
That barrel plug adapter is just what I need to clean up a bunch of power cables from my audio stuff. Now I just need a multi barrel plug adapter that can plug into the wall and split power to different things
For me (most of you know this thing already) are those velcro-zipties thingy for cable management. I use buttload of HDDs and fans, so there are cable-jungle inside my pc case. Easy to re-apply, re-adjust, and unlike one time use plastic zipties, the velcro ones are reuseable 💪🏼
Zip-ties are also reusable, there is a little catch you can push aside to back it out, long as you don't cut it super short you can usually reuse and readjust them.
you're a life saver, I had the fan hub and have been using DC mode all the time and my fans were like jet engine, set it to pwm mode is quiet now, I can have my inner peace now
Just like the last video like this, I've used almost all of the products in this video. I haven't used that specific Cooler Master GPU bracket. And I'm not the biggest fans of those 40mm Noctua fans in some instances. The one in my 3d printer works great, but I lined the back of a custom Optiplex with them and i think they slowed down airflow more than anything. I will admit that I used the thicker static pressure version though instead of the thinner ones, which I assume would have moved more air. I would have went back and revisited the project, but I've had no use for that Optiplex in ages.
You can also use the Silverstone ECP01 to power cheap TPA3116 based speaker amplifiers the size of a matchbox. Those amps can take anything between 12 volts and 24 volts, the 12V/5A output of the PSU is more than enough for blasting your ears off. Normally a decent power brick for those amplifiers would cost more than the amp itself, not to mention the sheer size of those power bricks.
The cooler master elv8 is a fantastic gpu bracket but it can sometimes sit in the gpu fans for high profile cards, solution is to ether use 3 stand-offs on the pcie sockets to raise the bracket up or use couple of right angle brackets at the support end to raise the support peg up The bracket is one of the best I’ve seen solid metal not plastic Forgot to add that if you have a o11 style case (doesn’t have to be the xl case) and use a vertical mount for your GPU, you can install the elv8 under the mount to support the back end of the mount to stop heavy GPU’s from weighing it down plus you get a argb strip below your gpu and still have room for fans on the bottom of the case
I used some small Noctua fans in my Lian Li pc-011 dynamic during my last build. The non-XL version of the case doesn't have a place for a fan in the rear of the case but it is vented with a bunch of round holes. I just bought two 60mm Noctua fans and mounted them with a single screw passing through the vent holes. They even disassemble easily enough to paint which is what I did to match my gold and purple theme. Worked out awesome.
Heads-up on the 180 degree adapters: there have been two cases posted online of those starting fires. Keep an eye on them while using them and make sure you dont take off the protective backing else you'll cause a short. In one of the cases, the person took off the protection. I will buy them and use; been on my radar for a while now but just wanted to give a warning. One of the posts was on the LTT forums.

Another nice accessorie to buy a PC start button and plug into the CMOS Battery jumpers to create a Clear CMOS button if your motherboard doesn't have one
Nice! One minor correction: the PS connectors at the start are 180 degrees not 90 degrees as you said. I call these 'Thrust Reversers'. I've also seen them with plastic covers which is a little more professional than the foam tape. I've been looking for the same idea for MB power connectors. Maybe a bit niche since it would only work with an open style MB tray (or one that happened to have a cable access at just the right location), but in the right circumstances it could really neaten up a build! Even thought of designing a PCB and making them myself!
I actually have the ELV8 and i absolutely love it, the small branding looks really clean with my coolermaster AIO. Its not hard to install, and its not a gargantuan GPU Bracket. I literally just watched J2C recent vod before this on the ROG GPU Bracket and that thing is huge. It completely blocks off access to the bottom half of the motherboard.
I have something similar to the PWM Fan & ARGB Splitter shown in the video. Only difference is that it doesn't have ARGB, just 10 fans which works fine for my needs since I only have 5 Arctic P12 PWM fans at the moment. Only thing I didn't like with the splitter is the bright blue LED in the middle of the board which I just covered. The other accessories might be of use to me but I either have something similar (i.e. fan splitter and USB 3 sata adapter) or have no use for them at the moment like the PCIE power right angle connectors.

Last year on my old PC my HD was failing, so I got a 2.5 SSD and cloned it, but I didn't have a place to mount it. I found a neat magnetic mounting bracket for it, screws on like a normal SSD mount, then you can stick it anywhere metal. It was a Team T-Force product. I can't seem to find it on sale anywhere right now, but it was really handy.
Thanks for a rational approach on accessories. I stopped watching the "techie world" video on accessories because all their (so called) cheap accessories were over $100. I'm not a penny pincher, my PC was over $2500, but that doesn't mean I'm eager to shop for $100+ accessories that I'm currently doing just fine without. Good video guys.
A Cheap roll of magnetic tape fixes the mounting issues with those PWM/ARGB Splitters. Either scrape off the original adhesive pad or stick the Magnet right to it. Never comes off and a snap for maintenance!!!
The 180° GPU Power Adapter and the Fan ducts were completely new for me, AND insanely useful. Thank you sooo much. Also, the Lian Li GPU bracket looks like something I will buy for my next build as well. Very cool if it can be hidden and won't interfere with the CPU cooler or ram
I loved this video. Most of the "Cool PC components" videos are full of crap no one needs. I've been thinking about making my next PC ITX and now that there is more support with stuff like this, I'm more apt to do so. I just need to find out what the drawbacks of ITX are.
You should do a series of pc components that fit in certain places like hardware that fits in a disc drive slot or usb accessories or power supply items etc.
I wanna give a shout-out to M.2 to SATA adapters. They're MUCH cleaner and take up FAR less space than a PCI-e SATA adapter and you get a good 5 extra SATA ports!
FYI - Corsair 4 pin RGB connectors don't fit on the controller board presented in the video (they don't pinch the pins, so the just fall off). You'll need fans with proper 3 pin ARGB connectors.
yo, that Sabrent SATA to USB cable. if only i had known about that sooner. i just bought an external 2.5" enclosure for 3x the price yesterday. i might also buy one of those cables anyway just because it's a cool product
okay i bought one and it doesn't work AT ALL for me, lol. i can't even get it to initialize the disk. i get either error messages or dead silence out of it. the external enclosure i bought has no issues with the drive
One product that I believe should have been on your list - the "NZXT Internal USB Hub 3" and sells for $AUD29. With many controllers communicating via USB and modern motherboards only having a single USB 2.0 internal header, this product expands the header out to four. The original version was Molex powered but the "Hub 3" is SATA.
usb to sata with external power is great, because you can use it with HDD as well. Without external power limits you to SSD, but is a lot more portable.
Don't use those pcie 12v adapters..even if the pcb can handle the current you will have a noticeable voltage drop at full power draw..it's like asking for problems. Don't even use cable extensions if you ask me.

I have so many of them because I shuck Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Slims when making modded Xbox 360's for friends lol

They're SO GOOD...except the ones that can't transmit the full amperage.
It's only good IF it has a barrel jack input for power-hungry drives.

An OEM edition may come in handy. Plenty of items between HP and Dell that may come in handy.

these litterally made my 3070 tuf fit in my zzaw c2 so u could close the panel. Ran it panel off for a month until i found the two sets.
The ones in the video aren't 90 degrees though, they're 180 degrees.
I was curious, but yes the ECP01 is overcurrent protected. Otherwise it would be really sketchy to bring your PSU power outside your case.

I finally found a Sata-Usb single that can work with 3.5 HDDs even 18TB drives Amazon finally has one that included the AC adapter

Technically this DC adapter should deliver enough power even for a normal LG display with external power brick. It supports 12V, 5A.
my LG display is 19V. So watch out if you plan to use this.

those tiny noctua fans are also really great for replacing server PSU fans, they are way quieter and work well

FYI - Corsair 4 pin RGB connectors don't fit on the controller board presented in the video (they don't pinch the pins, so the just fall off). You'll need fans with proper 3 pin ARGB connectors.

yo, that Sabrent SATA to USB cable. if only i had known about that sooner. i just bought an external 2.5" enclosure for 3x the price yesterday. i might also buy one of those cables anyway just because it's a cool product
okay i bought one and it doesn't work AT ALL for me, lol. i can't even get it to initialize the disk. i get either error messages or dead silence out of it. the external enclosure i bought has no issues with the drive
One product that I believe should have been on your list - the "NZXT Internal USB Hub 3" and sells for $AUD29. With many controllers communicating via USB and modern motherboards only having a single USB 2.0 internal header, this product expands the header out to four. The original version was Molex powered but the "Hub 3" is SATA.

usb to sata with external power is great, because you can use it with HDD as well. Without external power limits you to SSD, but is a lot more portable.
I picked up one of those Sabrent USB/SATA cables and was very impressed. Great speeds for backing up onto my SSDs. Good work
Don't use those pcie 12v adapters..even if the pcb can handle the current you will have a noticeable voltage drop at full power draw..it's like asking for problems. Don't even use cable extensions if you ask me.
