- I've had my Chanel Wallet on Chain (WOC) for 5 years now and I thought I'd film a video sharing my review and thoughts. This WOC is very well-loved and used, so if you are in the market to purchase one or you have one but don't know how to tie it into your life, this video is for you!
The Chanel Wallet on Chain is a great first piece or starter bag for your collection since it is so versatile.
I put the woc in my larger bags as a wallet that I can bring out when going on lunch break at work or running errands without having to take my larger handbag.

No problem! It's quite practical - I prefer it over the mini to use as a run out and do errands bag. It lays flat against the body and doesn't look too much!

Best travel bag! I have the trendy version and wear happened very quickly on the corners of my bag.. I use a base shaped for it as well.
The trendy version is so nice! Way more expensive though! The corners can be refurbished since it is lambskin. Ask the boutique what they can do! Or leather surgeons!

This WOC was my entry level piece... mine has the metal zippers....love it!! I've used it from formal events -clutch style...to going to the gym crossbody...and everywhere in between...versatility makes it worth the money. Also, I am over 6 feet tall and this is the only crossbody I've had in my life that hits the perfect spot due to my height. Now I'm gonna purchase that WOC SAVER...great idea...thanks!

Subbie here! Great review! I had purchased my WOC 2 years ago while pregnant with my 2nd as a gift to myself before baby arrived (also my first Chanel piece) and I’m so obsessed with it! I never realized how handy it would be once my baby born as I could place it in my larger (diaper) bag or just have it cross body on me with my essentials and anything extra could go in my diaper bag.

I have the boy woc and lovin’ it! I’ve been using it a lot so i thought of getting the classic woc too. The only con for me is that the strap is kind of long for me.
Yes, the strap can be a bit long. I ordered this bag strap clips to help shorten the strap. I'll try it out and let you know!
I personally love my WOC and I'm so happy I got it before the price increases!! But with the new price and how it wears, I don't think I would consider it or but it anymore. Especially for about ~$3000, there are other brands that can fit so much more! Of course it's not the same but phew it's the price that has me 😆😭...great review 😊💕
So true, the prices are ridiculous now. But the bags have gone up even more. Even the Hermes wallet on chain is like close to $6k with tax. Crazy!

I love long videos.:) I'm not really interested in WOC because I prefer actual bags and the chain is too long but have you seen the new mini WOC that came out with 20B collection? The ones that have card slots inside the flap and can stretch out wider. What do you think of that? I'm really interested! I checked with my SA at Yorkville. She said new items not arrived yet. Everything I want isn't available in Canada lately lol

Thanks for such a detailed review, it was very helpful! You brought up a lot of points that other reviewers have not. I'm about the pull the trigger on a WOC, and am also looking for a base shaper. Do you think the one you have with the side support has noticeable advantages, or would it be just as fine to get a base shaper with support at only the bottom of the bag?
Glad it was helpful! I do think the side supports help holding the compartment open.
6:37 I bought the same bag for my mom for her birthday, two years ago, and I have to agree that I was very surprised and a bit disappointed when I saw the plastic zipper. I expected a bit more. And, something I've come to realize, sadly, is that luxury products don't always use 'luxury materials' for every part of their products. 😞

@@sumykaur Not sure what the wow is. I have a maxi, two small classic double flaps, and a woc. They are all good. The Maxi is heavy. I think the woc classic is the most versatile. hth
Yes the color of the D U P B A G Y is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

Thank you so much! The woc and pochette Métis are two very different bag styles. However, I think a bag worth purchasing is definitely the LV Pochette Métis. It is very user friendly, spacious, can be used as an everyday bag, and can be carried top handle for a more formal look! The canvas is more casual and the leather empreinte is a little fancier!

Does the caviar leather bit around the CC goes abit flat? I have noticed mine has gone abit flat and not as pumped as before around the CC button snap closure area.

Kristin Rogers yes I do. I. I longer have the caviar mini but I did recently get a tweed houndstooth mini (there’s an unboxing video). But I can for sure do comparison video for you once my wallet on chain comes back from repair. I took it into chanel to get the edges fixed.

I use the WOC as my main bag. Fits the cell phone, car keys, a cardholder, and my chapstick just fine.

Hello, thanks for your deep review. Did you have any problems with the button closure? On my woc (also Kaviar leather) the button on the backside of the flap startet to get loose because the leather soften. I had it for repair in Paris but they told me that is normal. Is your flap still sitting flat on the bag? Would love to hear your experience after 5 years. Thanks
Knibie hello! The flap on my woc still lays flat. I haven’t had any issues with the button closure loosening, but I’ve heard that it does happen. My friend has a woc that had that issue, but Chanel repaired it. Hope that helps!

Would the corners of the bag show tear and wear after wrapping around the chain strap often to shorten the length of the WOC? I always have such concern so hesitate to purchase it.
That's a pretty valid concern. I never needed to shorten the strap since I wore it mostly cross body. But even with that, I don't notice a whole lot of wear, aside from the stretching of the leather if the woc is too heavy with items.

elina lall yes it’s is very comfortable! The chain doesn’t dig in. I’ve worn it all day when travelling and walking around. It looks really good when it’s super full as well!

Girl, you are making me want to keep my WOC...! LOL. The reason I bought it was 100% because of its versatility. It looks both casual and upscale just with a strap adjustment.
You are so right about that stupid tunnel not extending to the end and then causing the bowing. Mine hasn't started doing that so I didn't even realize this would happen over time. I wish Chanel saw this video so they could fix it. Of all the changes they made to the WOC, that one should have been at the top of the list. At least your WOC is in caviar, I can't even imagine how the lambskin one bows out after a few years... The good thing is when you were wearing it, I couldn't tell there was any distortion at all! I really want to buy a classic WoC just like yours but I can't find it on the online chanel store :( . I'm from New Zealand. Any tips??? Or help?
Chanel unfortunately does not have an e-commerce platform where customers can shop online. All purchases have to be made via your local boutique. I'd suggest calling the boutique in New Zealand (I'm not entirely sure if there is one in New Zealand because my cousins there always buy from other countries). Perhaps Australia would ship to New Zealand?
I wonder if the zipper is plastic because it's more durable/won't corrode. Also for the camera overheating, I think it's pretty typical that camera made for taking pictures overheat. I would think getting a camcorder would be more useful for UA-cam

I have a chanel caviar cardholder and LV neverfull mm, and I always put my cardholder inside the neverfull ‘s zip compartment. I always take it in and out, in and out. Until one day, i noticed my cardholder’s caviar has been scraped off, I just wanna cry.
I took it in the boutique, they also just dyed and painted it for me.
hummingbird2039 yup - caviar isn’t as invincible as we think. But fear not, you can take it into Chanel and ask what they can do. They call it edge finishing!

Hey! In Canada and Europe, customers don’t get the price tag with the bag. The boutique removes it. In the US, they always include the tags.
Im in a hunt for the Chanel WOC now🙈do you think it would fit an EpiPen? (Lenght + width) It fits in the mini rectangular but not in square mini...🤔

@@therealshakeen YES! So I have 3 WOCs and a variety of other luxury handbags. Most are preloved. Save your money and you can do this yourself! I only use Saphir products because I feel like they really match the quality of the leather goods. For your repair, you will want the following Saphir products:
Medaille d’Or Creme 1925 Pommadier Shoe Cream in black.
Since it has been 5 years, would also just clean with a natural baby wipe.
And then clean/condition with Creme Delicate or Nappa Leather Balm Medaille d’Or.
I wouldn’t use something with a high wax or oil content since these are handbags, not shoes. I have read before that Hermes uses Saphir products in their restoration. I use this brand to care all my shoes and bags, restoring items myself, and they have always turned out great.
@@therealshakeen Also I get my Saphir products from Kirby Allison. I feel like he has a thorough range of their line. I’m next buying the Hermes red color for some corner touch ups to my red Chanels.
