Thank you Laura for coming into my life. You, your family and your gardens bring me happiness.
I love the way Russell looks at you! He adores you!
@ 21:17 Russell looking at Laura as though he is hanging on her every word. 🐈❤️
He loves hearing her voice lol
The best part of the highlight videos is watching Russell swooning over his “mommy and me” time!
The look of love! ❤️
Russell thinks the world of Laura
YES!! I swear I stop paying attention and start just watching Russell and how much he adorns her! Laura has all the Cat vibes!!
I’d love a weeding video. I find weeding and garden grooming time to be “zen like” -it’s my meditation time.
I love that too!! It’s just so calming!!
The look on Laura's face when she said, "Like watching those weeds come out.. " speaking about weed pulling ASMR. I spit my diet Pepsi! Dying laughing over here!
Isn’t it funny when we realize they did something in the garden and didn’t film it that I think they are cheating on us :)
Right? I was thinking, what do you mean you didn't film it? Why? What did we miss?
If something ever happens to this channel, I'm going to need therapy. And, probably some kind of medication. ~ Lisa
They have a busy life so it happens.
LOL, you guys are funny!
yeah, just install cameras all around the property to catch whatever is happening!!!
@@LB-vl3qn That cracks me up but sincerely I find the videos very relaxing and comforting too.
As a new gardener it is 100% helpful to see a garden tour where everything isn’t perfect. I feel like it’s more of an educational tour than a “look at all the beauty” tour. And helps me see that not everyone’s garden is in tip top shape 24/7. Absolutely love them sprinkled in with the gorgeous things tours
I think this is my favorite Highlights you’ve done so far 🤣💗 you both were having so much fun teasing each other. Your joy and love is contagious 🥰
my cheeks are sore from smiling at the phone screen.
Can’t wait to see you at a show when we’re open again 🌸
Laura's response to the viewer who asked why she keeps buying plants . . . "It's cuz I have a problem!" I loved that answer and I can 100% relate! You just keep buying those plants, Laura! You remind the rest of us plant addicts that we are not alone!
"It's because I have a problem!" 🤣🤣🤣
Can't help but chuckle at all the mistakes! I've been there lol. I appreciate how down to earth you both are!
Totally LOVE you guys ! Your Hilarious together loved this video was so funny great humor.
I seriously need a tshirt or hoodie and coffee mug that says “it’s cuz I have a problem” with some plants around it. I should just start designing some merch for you guys. You’re way too busy to worry about silly things like that, but Laura n Aaron’s quotes put on merch would be awesome... 😂😁😂😁
I'd love to have one of those tees and/or hoodies!
I would SO buy a shirt with this quote!! I laughed out loud when she said it, and I can relate!! lol.
I agree, we need Merch with Laura isms and Aaron isms. 🥰🥰🥰
I'd sure buy it. Lol
Japanese Beetles 🪲 are a nightmare!
Loved the trip to the garden center this week...was so much fun to see all the beautiful plants. Laura, you were a kid in a candy store! 😍🍬I'm very much a dog lover but Russell is just the sweetest.
Can we have a video where we follow you around for a day? Not necessarily projects, but seeing you water, weed and just do the day to day stuff? Would love that ❤️
They need personal time in their life. No need to watch their every move!
Definitely was not implying we need to see their every move. Just a different type of video suggestion. It interests me to see how someone cares for so many seedlings etc. Might even be easier than a project- just filming a day of regular tasks. Just an idea no need for your judgement 🙃
They have done several videos of this type.
Yep people loved the day when there was laundry, then potato rolls, garden bits... That was popular and I loved it too.
They've been doing this for years. Making a video at least 6 times a week for years, sometimes multiple videos a day. You think they haven't done a video like that before?!? 😂
Russell just melts my heart when looks up at Laura in complete adoration. When her hand fleeting strokes his head, he immediately responds by moving his head upwards. I wonder how he would react if Laura cuddled him in her arms for a bit?
.
I love the way Russell looks at you while he's sitting on your lap, you can tell he really loves you.
You guys seem extra relaxed in this video.
Yes! I'm going do we have another baby around the corner??!! 🤣🙌🙌😜
I agree
@@allysonh6410 well its been what 8 weeks since having the baby? They're probably able to ya know what again... 😂
Definitely
@@ElderandOakFarm ewww, gross. Why would you write it out loud!
Laura, I would love to see an update/tour of your indoor house plants sometime. :)
"Hello, this is my video now"... It's AWAYS Russell's video....he just chooses to share with you guys!! LOL You should make new merch... Garden Answers--- Cuz I have a problem!!!! and then have some plants around the words! I would buy one for sure!!!!! ❤️
I even love to see the clearing away and imaging of the areas as you are planning. I does not have to be completed. I hope you know that you are a light in the darkness of this world. Wholesome during the sludge of this time, Love to you and your family.
Thank you for answering my question! Funny enough though, my oldest wanted to go on a little road trip during his spring break, so here we are, right now as I watch this, in Ontario and we're headed to the garden center in the morning! 😅 I'll definitely head back over in May though too! ❤
Wow!
Awesome!
Instead of full tour videos, I would like to see more updates on earlier projects....like this is how the climbing roses are filling in...I enjoy seeing just how the plants are coming along...They don't have to be in bloom.
If Tommy Co doesn’t bring back the “Big Red” after this latest mention with all your viewers...... They have to be listening. I live 30 min from their headquarters 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦. Want me to camp out and campaign 🤣🤣🤣? I use two little TommyCos , one under each knee. Still love them. But with gardening in our wetter climate near Vancouver, the “Big Red” would keep me dryer and cleaner. 🍀.
Until you decide where to build a pavilion, just get a large cantilever umbrella that you can open/close and move around to try out different areas.
"Its because I have a problem." That comment was hilarious & so relatable. I cant stop buying purple tall bearded iris of all varieties especially Pallida.. It's my happy problem. Laura, please talk more about the iris u have.
"Happy problem", like "Happy accident".❤️
I love the way Laura said it too. So matter-of-fact.
Oh yes, Purple Iris is one of my favorite glowers.
Your "hoarding plants" confession reminds me of the time we we're visiting family and everyone was talking about their collections. I said I didn't collect anything. My husband burst out laughing, "Yes you do!" "What? What do I collect?" "Every new flower you see or hear about!"
Oh Laura, nanner, nanner..really. You two are hilarious! Dont stop being a hoot😀🤣
Cannot believe the things people feel they have the right to comment on! Thanks so much for all the info this week. It's been just what is needed. Are you going to prune your lilac soon. Ours is about to bloom and it is now a 2nd story plant... and needs HELP! So.... HELP :) ! Have a wonderful week!!
You should prune it after it blooms, ideally. Only because they bloom on old wood, so you'd be cutting off this years' flowers; if you' d rather just get it done now, it won't hurt the plant, you just won't get flowers this year. There is nothing fancy about how to do it, just cut it down to whatever height you want. I have found that my lilacs in zone 6 do well when I take a few older branches out right down to the ground every few years or so. ( They are old, established plants, however)
When it comes to garden tours.
Idc where the tour is, I would just like to see a winter, spring, summer, and fall tour. It’s nice to see gardens at different times of the year. Don’t care how “perfect” or “nice” it is!
A tour a month is ridiculous!
But again do what is best for you guys!
Thanks for the wonderful knowledge, inspiration, and entertainment!
Weeding? My favourite thing to do. Soooo relaxing. Oh and my 29 year old daughter told me she went outside the other night and just putzed around the yard. She said she thought of me when she was growing up. How special, warmed my heart.
I’m going to need “It’s cuz I have a problem” to become a gif that I can send to my friends and family every time I come home with new plants. So relatable!
I need that as a t-shirt in all colours.
I may need to get on that as well... 🤣🤣🤣 Also I want to feel bad about it, but honestly I don't! The world is so grim right now, if you find something that gives you joy (and doesn't hurt anyone) go for it!
I respect that. I too am addicted to plants and house plants...and have a house without enough windows in the proper light. My husband knows that when we do downsize window placement is my number one priority...that and storage for house plants equipment.😉
Oh my goodness, that cracked me up when that was her answer to my question! So funny, lol!
My greenhouse said to me after about my fifth visit " there are worse things to be addicted to" 🙃
I know in the past you said garden tours felt repetitive, but with your current project I think it would be super cool to get a monthly tour/update tour of your gardens! (Even the ugly stuff) It’s so interesting/fun watching them evolve especially us long term viewers!
You two make me smile so much! An ASMR video of pulling weeds sounds amazing! Please do that 😊
I just bought a pot of hellebores at lowe's since the garden centers don't have anything yet. They're beautiful 😍 and yes, I bought them because Laura planted them!
Our Trader Joe’s sells hellebores for inside but I planted them outside after Easter last year and they survived. Check out your Trader Joe’s! $10.00 each!
Oh my goodness that cat loves you!
If a full garden tour is too stressful during the high season I LOVE some of the mini tours you've done of particular beds you're really loving at any moment or the side of the house tour, etc. The mini tours are also very easy to refer back to to see progress year over year, etc.
More tours oh yes! We want to see the bad and the good. It's ok it makes me feel normal when not everything is perfect. 😂
"Jim Putnam method" hilarious!!! I watch him too
Love Jim Putnam in North Carolina
It seems crazy that this channel has 1/10th the amount of subs as the main channel. I love hearing answers to questions that Laura may have missed. Plus, they're so informal and entertaining.
It's because this one was started many years after the original one. The Highlights channel has grown very fast though, compared to other peoples' channels that started around the same time.
I don't always watch the highlights because of the types of questions such as boring ones like "does Laura drink water?"or, too personal questions. I prefer when Laura and Aaron reveal personal things in their own, natural way if they think it would be interesting to their followers.
I wouldn't mind videos 24/7. I'd be really interested in watching videos showing us what you do in your weekly weeding/maintenance of the various areas of your garden. I know you assign each area a day of the week, but what all do you do on those days?
I want to live next door to Laura and Aaron so that I can see their gorgeous gardens from my upstairs windows! Would be heavenly!!!!
Just don't buy an RV or build any new buildings on your property 😂😂
@@New.phone.who.dis1286 I'd happily do that!!
@@diannehiggs 😂😂 no I mean it! Laura wouldnt let you. She doesnt want anyone but herself to build anything large on their own property since it disrupts her view. Didnt you see the video that she had to delete then re-upload because she told people she confronted her neighbor about his RV and it's parking canopy since it was in her line of sight? She asked him to move.it and even offered to buy new property for him to move it to. Her fans were bashing her neighbor for "daring to ruin her view" although it was on their own property?? So yeah. Ya gotta check with Laura before doing what you want with your own land!
Maybe try a weekly tour and cover 1 quadrant or area per week...they won’t be as long and we can see a monthly update of each area. Yes, we should see the good, bad, and ugly...as if there’s ever any ugly...lol 🤷🏻♀️
I would really like that as well. I get frustrated when Laura plants something then promises to show us what it looks like later but we never see it again. A zone tour would really help with this. I'm specifically thinking about the blueberries she planted in a container. What happened to them? Did they survive?
Totally agree! I would like a more realistic tour and not when everything is Instagram ready.
I think it would also make others feel better about their gardens when they see that Lauras' beautiful gardens don't always look perfect and full of blooms.
Was on my way to bed. Then, this. Guess I'm just losing an hour of sleep 😅
My tip is to play it at double speed😁.
Me too!
I find it so funny how the names of plants are the same here in England but we say them so differently. Language is so funny like that.
So true! Heck, we pronounce things differently even here in the US. Laura pronounces "cleMATis" and "peOHny" very differently than we do where I live, southeast from her. (We say " CLEMatis and PEE--uh-ny)
You must consider new merch with Russel being added to your logo. He really wants to be the center of attention, or a famous cat!
You don't need to see the Hartley from seating area because you will be hanging out "in" the Hartley. He he...
"It´s cause I have a problem" 🤣🤣🤣🤣All crazy plant parents can relate 🤣🤣🤣
Yep, I have the same problem.
You two are just to cute together. I can't imagine anyone thinking you would leave Samantha home alone. These recaps are always so enjoyable.
Laura and Aaron! Greetings from Greece! I want to share with you my joy, right now I own two hydrangeas from Proven Winners! And I am sooooooooooooo happy! So I have ruby Annabelle and the little quick fire! I can't believe that I have the same plat to as you although we live in totally different places. And now I will greet my plants everyday and I will feel that I have you as a company! You feel like family to me, since I watch you since 2015. Plus I have a 5,5 years old boy and a 2,5 years old girl and I find it so great that our children have the same age difference between them. Hihi. Kisses and hugs from an eternal fan
Highlights videos are a favorite! Love the banter between you and Aaron. 🤣💚
Also hilarious! How you started the recap saying it might be a short video...53:39 min later 🤣 thank you for another awesome recap
Yes please to the weeding video with the sounds of them being removed 💚💚💚
Russell loves you, Laura. He just can’t get enough of you. Melts my cat-loving heart
Hi Laura.I don't see that you plant/use any geranium .I love them . Do they just not do well in your zone ?
Omg.. it has been a long time I was laughing so hard on your accidents... Sorry but I was crying I was imaging you running while breaking your sandals 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
"Keep it appropriate." Made me lol 😆
That was possibly my favourite recap video! You guys are too funny!
That picture of Laura in the truck without the door had me rollin 🤣
Yes she is so humble to allow that picture.
You guys simply ROCK. The ignorance in this world is getting worse each year. 🤦🏻♀️ All you have to do is tell them you left Samantha Grace at home taking care of Russel & Cheddar. 😜🤣😜
Buying an extra little quart of paint of each color rooms in your house?!?!? Genius!
Really enjoyed this recap. You and Aaron balance each other. Also I think I would like a weeding video. Actually I watch any video you do. Thanks
Me too! And I'm not a gardener. I just like them. The gardening is rubbing off though. I started watching with the C'mas tour a couple of years back.
OK, I'M ON A RUSSELL KICK THIS MORNING, I LOVE HOW HE SITS AND STAIRS UP AT LAURA AND AFTERWARDS, JUST SITS IN HER LAP. IT'S OBVIOUS HE ADORES HER.
“It’s because I have a problem!” 😂
Weeding video 👍
I laughed out loud when you were asked why you buy smaller plants when you already have so many and you immediately said “Because I have a problem!” 😂😂😂
I finally had success with indoor cyclamen this year. The trick is to let them dry a bit before rewatering and only bottom watering. Mine are reflowering now
Me too! I put them in my kitchen window so I am looking at them frequently, and can water them when they start to wilt (also bottom only.) Plucking out the spent flowers seems to really keep them blooming as well, and I fertilize with fish/seaweed once a month. I'm going to try to store them when they go dormant over the summer and bring them back... we'll see!
@@didisinclair3605 I’m going to try that too. What’s the harm in trying. Someday I want to get a hold of the perennial kind. They’re not easy to find and when you do they’re sold out. ☹️
Yes to the weeding video 😂 Im the weirdo that would totally watch just to see the end result! 👍🤣
Hey 18 minutes after posted. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your last video. Including your family makes it awesome . My question is have you ever done how to do an apartment garden...you know key plants, containers etc..
That's right, Laura, we have so much distraction all the time is so nice to be in the nature/ garden taking in the garden!!!!🤗💜🤗
Love the Jim Putnam reference!! He cracks me up when he fertilizes! This will be my method for my new beds
Well you do kinda sorta horde containers and pots and gardening tools. LOL
I resemble that remark! Lol, not sorry, just sayin'!
Aaron "you almost tipped the tractor" Laura "Ya whatever" Hahaha that's classic! Love it
In German we use "fresh" as synonym to cold ;)
Us Mexicans too. I would be like fresh (cold) tacos?
Laura and Aaron. You don’t know how much you helped me through last year with all the isolation due to quarantine. I never really gardened at this level and I’m looking forward to it this year more than ever. Watching your family is an inspiration.
So encouraged to hear your story. Welcome to gardening!
Hi! I was watching older videos and you talked about the previous owners naming the Versailles garden and how they had the garden; I’m wondering if you have or could get pictures from the previous owners gardens? That would be really neat to see.
My Grandma always pruned her roses in the dead of winter...but, zone 8a here. She also burned the cuttings in a burn barrel, rather than shredding for compost, and my sister, who later majored in horticulture, told me that in our climate aphids can overwinter on the rose branches and old gardeners just sort of knew that. ;) Also, weeding is about ninety percent of my gardening life because the grass is bermuda (grrrrr) so I'd love to see some weeding.
My sacred time includes Laura's video and a cup of coffee with whatever bread I have at 5am before everyone in the house wakes up.
My kind of morning... if only I can wake up this early😂
Good morning from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🌞
Peggy Helbling's Garden What You've Got
While the Weeding video sounds tempting🤣🌿🤣 I love watching your planting videos. And hearing Benjamin explain what's going on in his own words is adorable 💙
Just keep doing what you're doing 👌
Hi ,if you please we want a weeding video .please
Hey Tommy co. Maybe you should make the ol style kneeling pad there is quite the following that would probably buy them... 🤔🤑🤑
"... it's cuz I have a problem " 😂😂😂
I love all your video's I don't care how long they are lol they are very informative family oriented funny cute and sooo amazing thank you for all the inspiration
“Plants are my vice.” I totally hear you.
You guys need to give yourselves some credit! I learned how to install and work our drip tubing entirely from your videos. I’d recommend sticking to 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch for first timers :)
Make a few extra videos and then use them to take some days off. Thanks for this video.
I'm SO Incredibly excited!! I'll be stopping by Andrew's next Friday! I'm from Northern Utah and we're traveling to see my naval son in Washington and I just mapped it and it's right on our way! I know this may seem silly to you but after watching the last 3 years of videos over the last winter, it's so exciting to me!! My son just bought a house and is putting in plants too, so I'll be able to bring him some plants as well! Can't contain my excitement!!
I think you have increased the popularity of Helebores. I never heard of them before you. I tried them without success but I plan to try them again when I find a better place for them. Erin The Impatient Gardener got me hooked on Dahlias. I really need to stop watching you two. 😂😂😂
Talking about that box wood transplant. I watched that video three weeks ago, and then decided im going to do it and transplanted one of my established ones i needed to move, and used the root stimulator she talked about, she may have talked about it in another video with that project as well, and now the tree has completely gone brown and dry but i am just going to keep trying and hope it comes back, i think i am going to be giving it a few more months and then hopefully I see some life at all coming back or growth into it. I got as much of the rootball as possible, I did good soil for the new hole w/ biotone, i did a small edging clip job of the leaves, and i did root stimulator, If anyone has other suggestions, i'd love to here them!
Just from my experience, whenever I have moved one I’ve really had to throw the water to it for a while.
@@Stephanie-cq8mf Thank you! Its been getting plenty of water and pretty consistently. Both the previous spot and the current spot are full sun, but it is a plant that thrives in full sun and i was careful to watch the "front side" as to not get the plant facing the wrong way, but i'm just keeping my fingers crossed. I appreciate your advice!
It's always great to watch, listen and learn with you guys. Like anything, Research beyond. Can't wait for Mothers Day. Want my plants in when can be planted! Too bad the nice seasons don't outweigh the bad here in IL. Yes, buy from local Nurseries. Go PW! 😊
You guys are amazing!! You are putting out wonderful new videos every day and a new baby! Laura you look so good !!
Yeah 2 videos of garden answers today just want I needed finished tidying up my roses after the flood we had here
Have you thought about building a playhouse with their own garden space for your children?
@@guidedandblessed thanks! I must have missed it!
How about a pavilion in the center area by the cut flower garden instead of the 4 benches idea???
I love these chatty, informative, sweet videos. Also enjoy the banter back and forth:). A nice way to start my day
Would the boxwoods look good as an edger for the cut flower gardens? Keep your videos as you do them, it shows your love for gardening. I learn so much from your videos.
Wondering if you would put your citrus trees that are front porch into the orchard?
I am in the process of pulling up 20 rose bushes from Rose Rosette. I will never plant another.
